I need to parse through a file which contains timestamps of transactions. What I am trying to do is come up with a Max Transactions Per Second (TPS) value. I was thinking that creating an array variable would be the way to go, but I'm having problems determining even how to start.

I am pretty new to PHP so excuse my dumbness. I've searched this up in quite a few places and cant find anything : Basically, I've made an array, within it are 3 more arrays. Their are two values in each array, 'Name' and 'Age'. Basically I am using a While statement to try and cycle through the 'age' value of my array and state whether or not the person is eligible. Okay, so I tried to do this through two ways, one way I tried to create a reference to age, then evaluate it, without that line of code their would be no reference, which way is correct, why wont it work? I am using Xammp, so when I launch local host I get an undefined variable error. What To Do?
I have a general question regarding php. Suppose that I want to have an array that stores connection-specific data, that can be anything IP address or something similar. However, whenever I use global or server variables (i.e. GLOBALS or _SERVER) the array created in this way is kind of connection-oriented, so that for each connection there is a separate instance of this array. Maybe it has something to do with the MPM of Apache, but I am not sure. Is it possible to implement an array that stores information about all connections that are at a system? In this way, each connection can chip in and upload it with data? Also, I would rather not use cookie's.

I have a large number of log files, on a linux box, I need to cleanse sensitive data from before sending to a third party. I have used the below script on previous occasions to perform this task, and it has worked brilliantly (script was built with some help from here :-)

However, now one of our departments has sent me a CLIENT_FILE.txt with 425000+ variables! I think I may have hit some internal limit. I have tried splitting the client file into 4 with around 100000 variables in each, this still doesn't work. I'm loathe to keep splitting though as I have 20 directories with up to 190 files in each directory to run through. The more client files I make, the more passes I have to do.
I'm doing some bash-scripting and want to be able to print some text (just plain text) files into the new bash-scripts, created within a loop. Here's a short example of what I do:

Doing the above works for creating new bash scripts (bash_script_1 - bash_script_40) but the variables are not determined. I would like, if possible, to somehow print the text in file1.txt into the new bash-scripts with the variables determined, i.e:

The text files I read are quite extensive so I would really prefer not having to paste them into the FOR-loop directly.
I have made a simple bash script through which i can add, del, edit user from certain file using different CASE variables. like

Now i want to add a exit CASE like

Now i want to make a script such a way that, if user input is 4 then only script quit. I used with exit function also but it didn't work. if user press ENTER or other keys then also it quit the program.

I have a RAID 5 array, md0, with three full-disk (non-partitioned) members, sdb, sdc, and sdd. My computer will hang during the AHCI BIOS if AHCI is enabled instead of IDE, if these drives are plugged in. I believe it may be because I'm using the whole disk, and the AHCI BIOS expects an MBR to be on the drive (I don't know why it would care).
Is there a way to convert the array to use members sdb1, sdc1 and sdd1, partitioned MBR with 0xFD RAID partitions?
I'm writing a bash script where I read a text file (containing a column of numbers) and store each line in an array. There seem to be some problems with the whole thing however, but only for some files and not others. Here's what I do:

I have an array called arrayini which stores numbers. I want to take log to the base 2 of each of the numbers in that array and put it in file called result. I've used the following code to do it.

It works fine but its taking pretty long to calculate since I've got about 230,000 items in the array. So I decided to store the result into an array hoping that it'd be faster. I tried the following code. arrayresult is where I try and store the result. The code doesn't work because of the second last line.

I have to parse a file containing billions of records and populate them in the Data structure. I have used a lot of C++ class and creating objects of the class I am storing the information retrieved by parsing the file.
Now as the file become huge and number of objects become very large my code is getting bad_alloc error as it is not finding any space avalable in the heap for allocating new object.
Is there any way to parse the file?
