i have tried to reconfigure evolution to send and receive e-mail,i am using verizon,i must have put in the wrong information,everything gets stuck in the out box,after trying many times i can not get back to the welcome to evolution to where i can reconfigure it back to where i can get it to work to send and receive and not stuckn the out box,getting a little frustrated,

i ve talked to my isp provider and they made sure that all of the fields are set up correctly in evolution mail i can access internet through fire fox update manager works fine But there is a question reguarding my network settings i am useing a wired connection throught eth0 but my isp service provider needs a secured login and i cant insert a password or login in there respective places in the network setup

I was able to send and receive after the "basic" setup. I added amavis-new and I am pretty sure that it stopped working then. (late nights, lots of changes/tries not 100% sure any more) Went back to basics trying to send a test email from telnet (on the server).

I am trying to send data through a USB port to a printer which can recieve text file. Now to send the data to the printer I am doing echo "Hello World" > /dev/usb/lp0

I had configured sendmail on linux 5.2, Iam using public ip and my domain is registered[linuxforfreshers.info]. I am facing a issue that when I mail with the user sumit@linuxforfreshers.info then I am able to do it. But if somebody tries to send mail to the same user then it bounce backs. I had made the entry of domain in /etc/mail/local-host-name and also I put ok in /etc/mail/access.The mails are working properly with in LAN. But not able to work on WAN only I can send mail but not able to recieve mail.What else I need to do.

i think i have a corrupt file or something like that.
I have my hotmail account set up in evolution and it receives just fine but it gets stuck trying to send. Its set to smtp.live.com for the sending server. any suggestions as to why it wont send? i have a gmail account set up with thunderbird and it sends just fine so i know i can send.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have it config'd to send and receive on multiple accounts and they all receive email, but SMTP times out and even sends no matter what account I try to send with. I thought maybe security and dropped the firewall and still won't send. No matter which account I try to send to it says its timing out trying access I have no problems on my Mac so no network problems. For grins I install Thunderbird and setup one account and same thing received but no send. What could it be blocking outgoing email??? I have CentOS 5 with all available updates.

View 2 Replies View RelatedRunning Evolution 2.23.3.1 on a laptop with 8.04 installed. (Running 8.04 for good reasons - please don't query). I've been running perfectly for some time, but today when I booted up and opened Evolution to check my mail, the first sign of something odd was that it didn't ask me to unlock the keyring. Then I noticed that the send/receive was greyed out.
I rebooted several times with no change. I've clicked on Permissions in the File menu, but that doesn't then show any window, which is what I would expect, thinking that something has changed. Other than accepting all the usual update manager's recommended installs, nothing has changed on this laptop for several weeks.
In general, sending to people with gmail accounts fails although it works for others.Here's the error message:Evolution ErrorError while Sending message.RCPT TO <someuser@gmail.com>failed:<someuser@gmail.com> No such user hereI have Evolution Sending Email set to Server Type: SMTP.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIt worked for almost a year with no problems. I suspect a recent update changed something.
Hotmail is my mail service. I've read instructions on how to set up Evolution. I've followed them with no change in results.
I've tried smtp.live.com:587. It was originally set as just smtp.live.com.
SSL is the way it is set but i've tried TLS too. I've seen both suggested.
The authentication is set to "PLAIN" yet when I press send/receive the error message says
"Error while Sending message.
Could not connect to smtp.live.com: Input/output error
POP Before SMTP auth using a non-pop source".
I've tried removing it and reinstalling it. One thing I did notice is that after reinstalling it, the last messages I had tried to send were still showing up. It operated as if I hadn't removed it at all. I did restart the computer between the removal and installation.
On another Evolution mail problem post, a user said that Evolution was a crappy program and people should switch to something else. Do many people think that is true? Does Thunderbird from Firefox work much better?
I'd rather fix it than give up by switching. I really like Mail on Apple computers because I can switch to the "from" tab and highlight numerous messages at one time to move them or delete them. In Evolution I must delete them one at a time.

I have found instructions to do this from several sources, which include the Gmail website and Ubuntu help at HTML Code: [URL]. The instructions from all sources have been consistent:

EVERY time, evolution strips out the IMG SRC tag contents. Before sending it, I can view the email and the embedded image shows up fine.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running Evolution 2.30.3 on fc13.x64 and I've been getting a funny problem for a while, that now really annoys me:
even if the settings for my hotmail account are correct, Evolution will ask for the password every time I log in. Also, since I keep it open, after a while (~30 minutes) it "forgets" somehow the password and asks for the password again. This time, anyway, it won't work and I have to reset Evolution again.
Bonus question: even if hotmail is configured correctly for receiving and sending (smtp.live.com etc.), it won't send email, but will remain stuck on "sending".
I have just set up my new Evolution account, and I set it with Novell, and when I try to send out an email, Novell is not recognized, and the message won't send out.

I can't get either Evolution or Thunderbird programs to send or receive.
I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed in another partition and everything works there. I carefully copied the setup from 9.04 to 10.04.
Of course the Internet is connected, and "Network Tools" work as advertised.
I am wondering if I am alone with this problem, or are there others?
