View 1 Replies View RelatedI have added a ubuntu 9.10 desktop machine to a windows domain, I can log on to the ubuntu machine using domain user accounts and passwordds, now I want to configure the linux machine to connect to the MS exchange server 2003 in the domain to send receive emails. How can I do this? I tried installing thunderbird but it doesnt give an option for SMTP or ms exchange server in the mail settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've set up a fully functional e-mail server and can send and receive e-mails to and from an array of virtual domains without a problem. The only hiccup I have is that only root is able to send e-mails via mutt. I have not stipulated a sendmail line in the mutt configuration so it's sending e-mail with default configuration. How can I get it so that all users on the server can send outgoing e-mails via mutt?

on ubuntu 8.04 and evolution has stopped sending or receiving when click send/receive button. it flashes something but too fast to read. i have renamed mail folder but no go. i have checked settings but no go. i have reinstalled evoulution from synaptic but no go.
i think i have a corrupt file or something like that.
I have it config'd to send and receive on multiple accounts and they all receive email, but SMTP times out and even sends no matter what account I try to send with. I thought maybe security and dropped the firewall and still won't send. No matter which account I try to send to it says its timing out trying access I have no problems on my Mac so no network problems. For grins I install Thunderbird and setup one account and same thing received but no send. What could it be blocking outgoing email??? I have CentOS 5 with all available updates.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRunning Evolution 2.23.3.1 on a laptop with 8.04 installed. (Running 8.04 for good reasons - please don't query). I've been running perfectly for some time, but today when I booted up and opened Evolution to check my mail, the first sign of something odd was that it didn't ask me to unlock the keyring. Then I noticed that the send/receive was greyed out.
I rebooted several times with no change. I've clicked on Permissions in the File menu, but that doesn't then show any window, which is what I would expect, thinking that something has changed. Other than accepting all the usual update manager's recommended installs, nothing has changed on this laptop for several weeks.
I have tried setting up my hotmail account in evolution. I followed the steps from the following link: [URL] at the end it said click send receive, but the button is not enabled for me.

I can't get either Evolution or Thunderbird programs to send or receive.
I have Ubuntu 9.04 installed in another partition and everything works there. I carefully copied the setup from 9.04 to 10.04.
Of course the Internet is connected, and "Network Tools" work as advertised.
I am wondering if I am alone with this problem, or are there others?
Using Ubuntu 11 and have just managed to get wireless working. It used to be a wired connection but when I moved needed to go wireless. Now for some reason the send/receive icon is faded and I can send or receive messages.

synaptic package manager says my evolution and keyring are the latest.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI run Suse 11.1. I have 3 crontab jobs running that I have written. I have them set to e-mail me the results. The jobs run, but no e-mails. I had the same jobs running under 10.2, and they stopped e-mailing me after doing them for about a year and a half. I wasn't too worried because I was going to upgrade to 11.1. I use MAILTO=(my e-mail address) in the cron jobs. I have used mailq to see that the e-mails are sitting there with "connection timed out". Why do these no longer work?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI installed sendmail in my fedora 7 system. i took the advice as provided in this url [url] I started with "Configuring s`endmail"
Then i went with installing MailScanner without going to clamav and spamassasin installation as i don need it.
I just configured my local domain and assigned a my own IP address. But there was nothing mentioned with configuring the port number. So i just went with "netstat -nl" command. And it showed that my IP is lisening on port 53.
I created 2 users for the domain and i sent mail via telnet. The mail entry got entered in maillog file. But i receive multiple unwanted entries that mail is sent from "root" to "root". But i didn't bother about that.
I proceeded with the next step of configuring the two users on thunderbird. I configured with pop3 on port 53 with the localdomain. Now i sent mail from one user to the other. The mail entry got stored in maillog but i couldn't retrieve the mail on my inbox.
But the mail gets stored in /var/mail/<user>
We are facing an issue with virtual users. We have configured postfix in Fedora 12. We are able to receive as well as send mails for the main domain users (i.e. example.com) but not able to receive virtual users mail (i.e. configured example2.com in main.cf and configured in virtual file as systems@example2.com useronly). We are receiving error message in outlook as 0x800CCC0F. Please guide us how to solve this issue.

1. Operating system installed is Debian ver. 5.0.3
2. Roundcube is installed as a webmail(if its right for me to say that)
3. The server is hosted right here at our offices
4.The server uses relay system to send mail i.e. relays all our mails to our ISP
That all i can say about the configurations becuase thats as much as i understand it.The problem now is that we are not able to send or recieve emails from both internal and external.I tried to send mail to a collegue in the office who is on our local LAN,Roundcube says sent successfully but the person does not recieve the mail.i tried to send to my yahoo address but nothing.I dont know where these mails have been trapped.

I created three pop accounts in evolution. For jka-walgau.at my name, office and mobile. The first time everything ran ok (all new mails could be downloaded, and from each account mails could be send). After a day (iIset the computer up for a friend) there arent no new mails that come in (webinterface tells me there are new ones).
SSL for pop and TLS for smtp were set.
The problem is they are selfsigned certificates. The first time when I configured the accounts and clicked the button to test the authentication methods I got a warning (self signed) no button to add this cert permanently only a OK buttton and in the upper corner the (x) to close. How should I handle this problem.
I need to build a system that can provide me capacity to send more than 50.000 mails per hour. Now I have inherit a server farm with 40 postfix servers, and one server managing which of this servers send the mails but its programming for someone but it's too complex. I have many different accounts set up on my icedove and sometimes I don't remember on which account I received the specific email I'm looking for, so I would like to be able to search through all my folders (say, absolutely all folders: all accounts, inbox, sent, trash, drafts, etc...).
Neither the quick filter toolbar, nor the "Search message" (Ctrl-Shift-F) feature seem to allow this. Now that's where the brand new shining "Global Search" (Ctrl-K) feature should be useful. However it does not seem to support partial match. So for instance if I'm looking for someone named "Lebenhaus GrossGrabenstein" but only remember that his name contains "Gross", the search through global search will return no result.
I'm pretty sure it was possible to do a proper search (with partial matching) accross all mails in previous versions of icedove, but I cannot find it anymore.
Right now the only workaround I have is to do a "grep -R" on my ~/.icedove folder, which is not very efficient and not flexible at all...
From 2/3 days my evolution mail client is not working properly when i'm trying to send mail from it.
