I have tried countless numbers of times to install xdebug with NetBeans as well as Eclipse. I have yet to get anything working. If anyone has installation instruction for how to set any PHP IDE AT ALL that will allow me to set breakpoints and view variables. I'm on Fedora 14.

I upgraded from F11 to F12 and everything seemed to be working until I went into my Eclipse IDE. Several things stopped working, icons in the "New" sub-menu items disappeared and when I activated wizards and added items like a new text file, I was unable to complete the creation of the file. If I try to "Save-as" the file to a file named create_products.sql pressing the "OK" button does nothing. This seems to be true of all of the wizards when you try to write out the changes, nothing happens. All these wizards worked correctly under F11. The Eclipse IDE is installed in my /home/user/Application/eclipse directory and was left in tac after the upgrade. Does this mean I need to do a full install and if so will restoring my home directory just result in the same problems? [URL]. Seems that there is a problem with eclipse 3.5.1 and F12 regarding mouse click capture.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Ubuntu server 9.10 karmic koala and my client is also ubuntu 9.10 karmic. I've installed xdebug on the server and added to the php.ini file:
zend_extension = /full/path/to/xdebug.so
xdebug.remote_enable = 1
xdebug.remote_port = 9000
xdebug.remote_host = localhost
xdebug.remote_handler = dbgp
Vim and the proper plugins (debugger.vim and debugger.py) are both installed. I load the php file under consideration in my browser on the client with ?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=1 as part of the URL. I then vim the php file, press F5 and reload the page in firefox. Vim shows that it is waiting for 5 seconds for the connection. After 5 seconds it shows an error message that says:

After some googling it has become apparent that these messages mean nothing and the problem is that the connection is just never happening. Xdebug is supposed to be working on port 9000. I've looked at /etc/services and nothing else is mapped to port 9000. I've tried ssh -p 9000 xxx@a.b.c.d and had the connection refused (ssh without a port spec works fine). Now I don't know what to do to get this thing working and I really want it working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using Eclipse to program in Java for a long time, and have been using Jigloo for most of my GUI design. Recently I decided to try out the C/C++ plugin. I tried installing it, but it did not work. After many attempts, I finally gave up. However, after uninstalling it I found that Jigloo had stopped working. Any other plugins I try to install now also don't work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling plugins, and reinstalling eclipse, but nothing I have done fixes it. Although eclipse says that the software has been installed, nothing shows up in the features list or the plugins list.
Another problem: When I install eclipse from the repositories, it doesn't install a bunch of libraries and eclipse cannot recognize standard java files.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed eclipse galileo a long time back and used pydev plug-in for development. i wanted to install the java plug-in for but could not install it. My friend gave me his eclipse folder (eclipse helios) which contained the java plug-ins, i thought copying those plug-ins to the /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins directory and assumed that it would work. though it did, but my eclipse galileo was now eclipse helios and took really very long time to startup. I completely removed the eclipse and other dependencies using synaptic. (also deleted all the plug-in files from the /usr/lib/elcipse/plugin directory). I reinstalled eclipse and now on starting eclipse i get the following error. the error msg tells me to view the error log file in the /usr/lib/eclipse/configuration/xxxxxx.log

I wish to use the new Eclipse Galileo, and so far it works fine... out of my home directory.I would like to install this system-wide, so that all my users can use it just the same.I assume the destination would be /usr/local/bin, but when I put the directory there and link the executable as /usr/local/bin/eclipse (linking to /usr/local/bin/eclipse_bin/eclipse), I get shared library errors.This was a failed attempt at a hack, so I would like to know: where can I put the files so as to properly do this installation?

Download of the packages seems to be OK. I also cannot do any manual update or installation.
