Programming :: C/C++: Broadcast Receives No Answer - Can't Find Right Answer

May 18, 2010

How can I set the outgoing port for the socket? In wireshark, my outgoing port is 1024, and i want to set it to 6800 (or a similar port) I see the outgoing broadcast-message in wireshark, but no answer. There are three ECU's in the LAN, which should answer. The following code is a mixture of C/C++ and jointed from different articles:

[code]...

In wireshark I can only see the outgoing message. But the "recvBuffer" (in the lower part of the code) contains the same content as the sendBuffer. Is it right, that I need a sender and further more a receiver? Or should I receive the broadcast-answer on the same socket on which I send the bc?

Ubuntu :: Can't Seem To Find Answer?

Aug 23, 2010

I've been googling around and can't seem to find my answer. I've got an old ATI 9700 pro that I'm removing from my system. I'm replacing it with an Nvidia GeForce 6200. What do I need to do to switch these in Karmic? I tried switching the cards, but I only get a white screen with the pointer on the new card. I can't do anything else. I'm guessing I have to uninstall the open source ATI driver first. How do I do that?

OpenSUSE :: Unable To Find Any Entries Related To Xfce4-notifyd

Jul 22, 2010

I've recently switched over to gnome desktop environment with gnome-shell preview as my compositing manager.Everything is good except for this process xfce4-notifyd which autostarts somehow..

The problem with this process is it acts as the default notification daemon over-riding gnome-shell's built-in notification support and tends to display balloon popups on the top right corner....If i kill this process everything is good.... But on restart it autostarts again somehow..I looked through the items in gnome-session-properties and also in these places:

Code:

/usr/share/autostart
/etc/xdg/autostart

But couldn't find any entries related to xfce4-notifyd.

Programming :: Opencv Related - Find Out Corresponding Points Of Same Scene On Two Cameras?

May 2, 2011

I've a question regarding two camera images. Suppose I've detected 2d window coordinate of 8 markers of an object in a scene in one camera and detected window coordinates of 10 markers of the same object on another camera.

I've detected the marker. It was easy. Now how do i know which window coordinates on two cameras are the coordinates of same marker? I mean there are markers captured on both cameras and some of them are representing the same marker in both cameras. I just like to know which ones are same on both cameras. Is it possible to find that out using opencv?

Software :: General Protection In /var/log/messages - Find Related Source Line?

Nov 11, 2010

SuSE SLES10, 32 bit. I have an app which crashes with general protection often.

There is message every time in /var/log/messages:

How do I establish relation between this message and source code? Error was observed on another host where some tests were running, now license is expired and I can't get more info nor core dump. I have to investigate what I have and try to reproduce it locally. Unfortunately original binary was stripped. Now I prepared non-stripped version. Does it has the same addresses for function as original? Is it possible to use symbol information for finding where RIP points to?

Fedora :: PAE Related - Kernel Versions Are Different In Two Folders?

Dec 11, 2010

In the processing of reinstalling VirtualBox, I found this:2.6.35.6-48.fc14.i686.PAE/source -> /usr/src/kernels/2.6.35.6-48.fc14.i686.PAE/ ,but this folder don't exist.。 I try to relink the ln as source -> /usr/src/kernels/2.6.35.9-64.fc14.i686.PAE , but VirtualBox still get problem with the kernel. Since VirB works fine with other 2 kernels, the solution for this is not quite needed, but I just wonder why this happens. See below. I don't know why these two folder contain different version of kernels. Anybody get an idea?

Fedora X86/64bit :: All Gnome Related Processes Are Duplicated

Feb 18, 2011

I noticed this weird behaviour yesterday after the last update (not sure if it's really related, but I didn't notice this before). When I do a fresh start and log in - all the gnome related processes are DOUBLED in the memory Of course it causes weird errors, applet hanging or crashes, very sensible slowness while booting and operating, etc, etc.Basically I have 2 gnome-session loaded at once - one as a child process of gdm-binary and another separate one. Both sessions have all the child process loaded, so I turned out to have 2 Nautilus, 2 Metacity, 2 Gnome-panel, 8 python processes and all the set of applets are also doubled.

Fedora :: Images Wouldn't Render After Import And Related Software

Apr 3, 2010

My goal is to import and organize photos from my SD Card I have a built in SD Card Reader on my Toshiba Satellite A205 with Fedora 12 installed

1st: I tried to just use gThumb but some of the images wouldn't render after import. - Also at this point, I selected for Fedora to automatically open gThumb Import when I enter the SD Card. Now I can't figure out how to stop it from doing that. If anyone could answer this too, i would be very grateful

2nd: I tried f-spot but it also wouldn't render some of the images after import and I don't like that it orders the photos by day and doesn't let you manage it yourself. Correct me if I'm wrong with this.

Now: I loved Picasa on Windows so I loaded the Picasa 3.0 RPM. I had an apparently common problem with the Wine preloader being blocked by SELinux. I followed the SELinux recommendation to lift the restriction. I realize its not as safe but I thought if I could get Picasa to work I could live with it. But I can't seem to import from Picasa either! When I start an import from Picasa it gets about 20 pictures though and then stops with the following error:

Code: An error has ocurred during importing. Either the source is unavailable or the destination is full or readonly. (11) And also the gThumb import window opens... actually as I'm writing this, it probably is the auto action i set up earlier that's throwing it off. That would probably make the "source unavailable" like the error implies.

I would like to remove the auto load behavior i set up when entering an sd card. If anyone has any other ideas why I can't view all of the images in the other programs i'd like to give them a fair evaluation also. A few of them render ok, but most of them just show a broken image link.

Server :: Getting Modem To Answer On The Correct Ring

Aug 2, 2010

I am having issues getting the modem it the dial-in server I have set up to answer on the correct ring. I have the /etc/inittab set:

Code: S1:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -n 7 -x 6 -D ttyS2 yet I have to play with 'init q' and minicom to get it to answer on ring 7. Then a reboot destroys the setting and I have to go through the whole hassle again and it goes back to answering on the first ring.

This is not acceptable. This dial-in server is only a very back door into my network. It is only turned on when needed. Most of the time it is not powered up. When it is turned on it is by a non-tech person with out the ability to jump through the hoops to get it to answer on the correct ring.

Ideally I want this modem to just listen to the line after it stops ringing to check for a data signal and if it does not find it just hang up. If it finds a data signal then establish a connection and all that. That way it does not interfere with answering machine on the line. Google has yielded very little info about setting up dial-in servers. Modems are not used very much any more.
