Recently did a fresh install of F12, previously used F11 without any problems. Now Evolution move ALL received messages to trash automatically. I have had to make rules to move each e-mail to the inbox but still all incoming messages go straight to Trash.

I understand my hostname (i.e., Eng-Lab-010) is not a fully qualified host name, but I never had a problem before. But it appears this not a good thing. What should I do?
I use kmail for fetching and sending mails from my gmail account. The inbox stuffs are saved in ~/.kde/share/ apps/kmail/mail/inbox . It is not saved in encrypted form. One can open it with any editor. Is there a way to make kmail save those fetched messages in encrypted form and when I open the kmail it will show me those mails in decrypted form?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI haven't logged on to Fedora for a few days, but I did this morning and opened claws mail and clicked 'get mail' and it proceeded to download new messages. However, when I clicked on the inbox folder, the email count changed to zero! No email. I checked and found the folderlist.xml has the correct Mail folder location, and when I went to that location, (on a shared data partition) indeed the 'inbox' folder was EMPTY. No files at all. I'd had a similar issue once, but the email #MH location wasn't correct, so when I fixed it, the email appeared. I did a web search and a search of the claws bugzilla.
The closest I came was a message about the cache not keeping accurate information. There was a claws-mail update at the end of May, but it had been working fine since then up until now. And, it's possible it's some sort of Fedora issue (?), because I had opened my 'home' folder on my desktop to check the claws folder, and now I see that there's a gaping hole on my desktop where that folder should be. I can get there by clicking 'places' and 'Home Folder'. Any other reports of disappearing folders and email?
I'm trying to move certain files to Trash using File Browser. I continually get this message:"Cannot move file to trash, do you want to delete immediately?"I am logged in under my user name; I (my user name) am the owner of these files; ALL permissions are on (rwx for owner, group, and other); and Trash is empty. Still I get this message.

All went fine, I downloaded all my emails from the last 7 years but then when I actually logged in to my email account on hotmail.com all of my messages were gone and my inbox empty. I was hoping that it would downlaod a copy of my messages - I still want a copy in my hotmail inbox for backup just in case something happens to my computer. Anyway, so my question is there a way to put them back into my hotmail account? I know its not as though I have lost them forever, I just would like the last 7 years of important emails on there in just in case.

I have checked all the folders in evolution and tried showing hidden message (from the view menu) while looking in each folder in case I had managed to do something really weird by mistake, but they appear to have vanished. The message I dragged over to the new folder is however there!
The other weird thing is that the trash folder has randomly partially emptied itself at the same time, and it is not set to empty itself on exiting the program.What have I done and how do I get them back??? I don't care about the trash but need the inbox messages back.
I am using the Skype-Pidgin integration on Lucid. Calls work fine and I can send messages from Pidgin. But incoming messages don't get through to Pidgin -- instead I get an alert from Skype and I have to open up the Skype conversation window to see them.

Much like the Support of some companies where you send an email a ticket is automatically opened, but instead we need to save the messages to the filesystem depending upon an identified ID in the message.
We're considering two options:
1) Identify by to: header
Messages are sent to 12345@domain.com or os+12345@domain.com, where 12345 is out customer identifier, and the mail server processess messages and saves them to:
/data/os/12345/Customer contact.eml
2) Identify by subject: header
Messages are sent to os@domain.com and the customer identifier is specified in the subject [12345] Customer contact.
We need to do some other verifications as the user (from: header) is authorized to archive messages to that customer, but this is another story.
I tried searching for something along the line of AMaViS and ClamAV filters but had no success.
I tried to use evolution as mail manager for my yahoo account,and now it works but there is really big problem for me. Evolution sucked and deleted ALL messages I had on yahoo so now I can't find them with any other computer except this one ! This is really bad because I'm on the move all the time and it is impossible to access my contacts or reply to some message from cell phone for example ! Can I somehow recover all inbox from evolution to yahoo mail ?

I renamed my Inbox to Inbox.old and made a new Inbox in evolution. Now mail is working fine. but I want to get my old mails also. Is there any solution to get my mails back ? View 14 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to 11.04 and I created a evolution-backup.tar.gz file as I've done in other upgrades. When I restored the backup and started Evolution, I've lost all the emails in top-level folders (Inbox, Sent, Drafts etc). My own custom folders within these top level folders contain the emails that I backed up. There are quite a few important emails that I've yet to respond to in my Inbox and this is very concerning. Also, I've lost all my Contacts!

The server is completely set up but for some reason it is not receiving the e-mails I am trying to send to it. When i mail to the associated mail address from internal by the "mail" command it works fine. But when I try from an external mail server, the mail never gets through. And I do not receive a bounce e-mail.
It says that the port 25 IS open for TCP connections (in iptables - I opened it myself). And surely when I telnet to it on that port from inside the server, I get an connection. But when I telnet from an external network I get a refused connection. It would sound that the port is in fact not really open for external use, in my mind, but it is. Is there possibly anything else I might have neglected to check in this mystery

I'm using postfix on Ubuntu 9.10 and all I need is to occasionally send automated emails from perl or php scripts when data processing errors occur. In other words, I want to reject any connection attempts from remote clients and otherwise allow nothing except outgoing emails from one particular account.f I add this line to the default main.cf, will it do the trick or is it more complicated?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed a new server running CentOS 5.2. I have iptables and SELinux off. The new server will not accept incoming mail. It will send out fine.Our mail server redirects mail for it.help to it.[url]...- [url]....is this server. Any messages sent to this address get stuck in a deferred queue. The error message on each one (from the mail server admin console) is "connection to[url]... [10.9.10.202] - connection refused". I can ping [url].... from the mail server.
This seems like a firewall issue, but it is off. Is there some configuration file I need to change to allow incoming mail? Or is there some test I can run on the new server to further troubleshoot what is going on

I have a few folders I need to remove and when I right click delete or move to trash not available. I guess I don't have permission. I am the sole user of this machine and the Admin. How do I remove these folders. The folders were part of ClamAV which has been removed. They show up as a virus in my Avast Anti Virus.

This is happening on my computer, not on a shared folder or through samba. Its a little frustrating to say the least.
I have Ubuntu 10.l0 installed on my laptop. I recently install the KDE desktop from the Software Center. Today, I noticed something strange. I tried to move a file to the trash when I got this error message: "The trash has reached its maximum size! Cleanup the trash manually." I don't have any files in the trash. I went back to Gnome, and was able to delete the file. I opened up Dolphin while still in Gnome, and couldn't delete anything, so I know that this isn't a KDE problem
