View 4 RepliesI cannot seem to get data to show up in the forecast window. I have my city ID and I also went to weather.com and signed up and got my 2 keys and put them in conkyforecast.config. So here is what I have (the template is someone else s mind you but I have my city data enetered. I'm sure I am overlooking something but what I don't know conkyforecast:

I'm trying to setup the conkyforecast.py and I need the Partner ID and the License Key for Xoap. Weather.com has yet to send them to me. How long does it usually take for them to send this information? It has been almost 24 hours since I registered.
View 2 Replies View RelatedConkyForecast is giving me the way wrong temperature (conky says it is 129 but weather.com says it is 54) it also added an A symbol before the degree symbol.

I have conky installed and set up as a startup application, however everytime I log out and back in conky creates itself as a new window:
How can I get conky to start normally without having to do a manual restart everytime I login?
Said that all the config i find put all the info in one place of the screen, in this example on the right side:
url
or like conky colors where you can put in either side, or other complex examples that use folders with images..that at least i need one day to study all the variables it has...
What i want is something simple, in my black background i dont want images and effects, only white simple text.
My problem is: i want for instance my specs above, my log info in the middle, my music info bellow (above my clock) and in conky config i'm hitting my head in the wall....
For instance if i use my facebook script to appear in the midle how the hell can i put my music info bellow without ruined the facebook in the midle...do i need 2 conky configs?
There have been a few capabilities I've wanted to add to conky lately, chiefly mail, music, and forecasts. I installed some debs from [URL]... and I was wondering how I activate them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the weather indicator installed on 11.04, using unity, at first when I hit forecast, it would should the next 4 days and little pictures above the temp, clouds, rain, sun etc. Now all I see is what looks like a page and a red circle. The pictures are not there anymore. Everything is up to date. I tried uninstalling and installing, that worked for like a few hrs, but now it's not showing the pictures anymore.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get current weather using the GNOME weather applet. The ones which are installed by default and you do right-click > Add to Panel kinda thing. Now the problem is I'm getting stale or fixed current weathers as well as forecast. I have been trying for several weeks but with no success.

How to get /sys/bus/platform/devices/coretemp.2/temp1_input back? The whole folder is missing and I have tried uninstalling lm-sensors, hddtemp without success. I do not understand why the folder would be missing after an update.
I'm getting very frustrated and confused with conky-colors. I was reading OMGubuntu, and saw that Conky Colors 7 had been release and it looked pretty [URL]pt to install it from that page, but got hopelessly confused. I would really just like some step by step, noob friendly instructions. I managed to do these first two steps though:"$sudo apt-get install aptitude python-keyring python-statgrab ttf-ubuntu-font-family hddtemp curl lm-sensors conky-all
$sudo chmod u+s /usr/sbin/hddtemp"
I'm trying to install conky on my Slackware. I've downloaded the files from slackbuilds.org (both conky and lua). I've compiled and installed lua writing "make linux" and "sudo make install", but when I'm trying to compile conky, it says:

I've been using conky for some time now, and I haven't changed conkyrc for a while. However, when I installed lucid (fresh install) conky starts wrong with ubuntu, like in a glass box that overlaps any window. The weird thing is that if I kill conky and start it over again manually (without the script in preferences->startup applications) it is OK. Screenshots: [URL].

I'v installed conky (from the repo) on my Fedora 12 x64 box, and i'm very pleased with it. However I can't get it to start at login.I'v tried shell scripts that include a delay (i tried delays of up to 30 secconds), and there is no change.

Is there a way to get conky to show only eth0 or wlan0? My configuration only shows the wireless bit when wifi is switched on but shows eth0 all the time.
Temperature: I have nvidia card with drivers from rpm fusion, can conky give me the temperature of the card and the cpu?
I'm trying to set up conky so that it displays my Google Calendar, but for some reason, absolutely nothing visible shows up on my desktop when I run conky. Here's .conkyrc:

I would like to run Conky on my Gnome desktop, I've configured a .conkyrc and it works quite nicely if I launch it in a terminal. However .... if I set it to run as a startup application (by using /usr/bin/conky &), 2 unexpected things happen.1. Conky doesn't load2. My gnome-panel doesn't appearHowever, gnome-panel is running, as I am unable to launch another one.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe application is Conky running under Fedora 12 Alpha. This application is set to start upon logging in to the desktop and it does just that. It appears for a second or two and then disappears from view. Although I don't see it, top tells me it is in fact running. As a result of this unexpected behavior I kill the process and restart the application using the ALT/F2 run application tool. When I do this Conky appears on the desktop and stays in view.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm running F14 on an Intel i5 processor with a NVidia GT340 graphics card. Installation works great. Compiz Fusion runs too. At this point, the panels are a little unpredictable, in the sense that some items on the panels disappear and appear as they please; changes only come during startup. The userswitcher is usually absent (but not always). The show desktop icon is sometimes absent, and on a very rare occasion, the desktop switcher is invisible. For all of these items, space is reserved in the panel, and when manually added to the panels, that space is left blank; I can not move anything into that space. It remains reserved for the item that isn't shown.
Then I install conky. First installation works fine, shows all things that are called upon in the .conkyrc file nicely. It works fine until I click anything - even on blank space - on the desktop. Conky then disappears. The process continues to run, but it's no longer displayed. Upon reboot, all of my panels disappear, and I have no idea how to get them back. When I uninstall conky everything works again as before (the userswitcher being the least predictable item on my panels). When I reinstall conky, and add it to my startup items, it shows for a couple of seconds after log-in after which it disappears. I assume - but don't know how to check as I have no panels left so how can I run the system monitor - that the process keeps running, but it isn't displayed.
Recently came across this system monitor for the desktop (in PartedMagic).I liked it,thought it would be fun to play with. It bills itself as being for Ubuntu, but it appears to be available through the Fedora repo.I'm just wondering if anyone is/has run it on their Fedora install? The Conky site doesn't appear to have any Fedora related documentation. Note, I'm not looking for instructions, just wondering if any Fedora users are actually running it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 and i thought I'll just compile the latest version of conky.
So i did:
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-audacious=yes --enable-iostats --enable-curl --enable-rss --enable-weather-metar --enable-weather-xoap --enable-imlib2 --enable-lua-imlib2 --enable-lua --enable-lua-cairo --enable-wlan All good.
