Here's the error: The following packages have unmet dependencies: r-base-core: Depends: libgfortran1 (>= 4.1.1-12) but it is not installable Recommends: r-recommended but it is not going to be installed Recommends: r-base-dev but it is not going to be installed is there a way around this problem, (eg; editing a dependency list to libgfortran3)? Or is this version of r-base-core effectively broken?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen using apt-cache to find the reverse depends of a package, it would only show dependencies for packages in repositories that you have added wouldn't it? It wouldn't show that a package in a repository that your apt has never heard of depends on it?
I'm a slackware guy and don't use apt but am helping someone else and I almost told them that before I realized that I just made it up out of the blue.
As the title says I'm trying to build myself a local RPM mirror. I have multiple laptops and a desktop that use Fedora 11. So I used 'rsync' to setup and sync my directories. I next went on to create my repo with the 'createrepo' function. I run my server backend as FreeBSD so I moved my data over there and setup my 'lighttpd' service.
Everything went fine until I used 'rsync' and synced up my data. Am I supposed to run 'createrepo' after each sync? If so, does anyone else use the same kinda setup, even if not FreeBSD, but a different os other than linux for their server that they run this from? I've been dealing with this for 2 weeks now and finally gave up researching and testing and thought. Not something I'm good at doing. Check my register date and my first post date.
Edit: FreeBSD doesn't have a port or unofficial port for this. I noticed it seems to be written as a python script so thought I could somehow get it to run on FreeBSD with linux emulation.
I want to install some things on machine without internet connection. There is something like packages.ubuntu.com or debian.packages.org for Fedora? Well - as you can see on this site i can see packages with depends (ex. frozen-bubble): click to Debian packages site, click for packages.ubuntu.com. I can download packages with their depends easily from that sites. How i can get rpm with depends? I need to collect everything on usb flash drive and install on off-line machine without any problems. I can download single rpm with yumdownloader but i need depends too. Koji not satisfy me - no depends info. I need to download few apps from repo (on machine with internet connection), but with their depends - how? Or maybe there is something like Keryx for rpm-based distros?

Is it anyway possible that my mobile broadband speed is slow because of my installation is wrong? actually, I formatted my machine and make it dual-boot. After that my mobile-broadband speed is horrible slow. I installed (a)kmod-wl and as dependency, broadcom-wl but my lspci only shows intel network manager.

I'm new to Linux so still learning it. I have installed Debian/GNU 5.0 on my VMware Server with Gnome 2.28 as desktop environment. So I'm wondering why so much variable stuff like CD recorders, image editors, games is installed with Gnome. But this is inly a half of the problem! Gnome depends on them! So when I want to uninstall them via Synaptic Package Manager it asks me to uninstall Gnome too!

Here is a copy of what shows on by screen (I used sudo -s because I thought it might be an environment issue). Not sure what to do here Bash seems to be installed and if I run bash I get no errors. I did just upgrade to 11.04.

Do i have to be a normal user or should it be root or su (superuser) ?

I simply want that the war file from sources is transferred to the web app of my tomcat server through RPM. I try to package it as an RPM, but its always giving me errors in %build stage. When I try to remove %build from stage from the spec file, then it says command missing.
