Ubuntu :: Synaptics Tomahawk: Depends: Libqt4-sql-sqlite But It Is Not Going To Be Installed?
Jun 10, 2011
I get the error when trying to mark tomahawk for installation using synaptics. I googled the error but couldn't find anything on it. could some one help me figure out what's going on?
I'm trying to compile gettext 0.17 but it is dependent on glib2. the problem is that when i try to compile glib2 i get the error that says i must have gettext support in my c library or use the GNU gettext library. what should i do?

I tried installing System-->Administration-->Synaptics Package Manager and I got following error
Code: gnochm: Depends: python-gtkhtml2 but it is not installable I am using Lucid 64 bit and in my sources.list multiverse ,partner ,universe ,restricted and backports are enabled.
I noticed this trying to install the virtualbox qt gui, but it doesn't really seem to be anything to do with that. I think maybe I have a PPA that has different versions of a lot of qt packages, but I'm a bit confused: In Synaptic, I try to install virtualbox-ose-qt, and get an error
"Depends: libqt4-opengl but it is not going to be installed"
Ok, so I search for that package, it is there, but I get:
Depends: libqtcore4 (=4:4.6.2-0ubuntu5) but 4:4.6.2-0ubuntu6~ppa9 is to be installed Depends: libqtgui4 (=4:4.6.2-0ubuntu5) but 4:4.6.2-0ubuntu6~ppa9 is to be installed
And pretty much the same every time I try to follow this down the pile. Now I think this is saying it wants the version ending 5, but the only version available is the one ending 6~ppa9. But under "Latest Version" is the version number ending 5 anyway, so I don't know where this other one is coming from.
I sorted everything in Synaptic by Origin and went through everything that wasn't directly from Ubuntu, but didn't see anything at all about libqt4, so as far as I can tell there shouldn't be any conflict with a PPA anyway??
Do I need a PPA for the most recent versions? Or is it possible to force installation of the versions available? Would that cause problems?
I am developing an application for Qt 4.6 and I am happy that Lucid has recently introduced this version of Qt in it's repository. However, a collegue of mine cannot install my application, and when I try to find out why I see that He is still looking at libqt4 version 4.5 in the repository. Notably, He recently made a dist-upgrade (I believe is the term) from Karmic to Jaunty and from Jaunty to Lucid.Does anyone know why he has a different repository, or perhaps even what I could do to get Him up to 4.6 in an apt-ly manner, so to speak?
when I update ubuntu with update manager ,an error occurred. the detail is:
E: Problem parsing dependency Depends E: Error occurred while processing empathy (NewVersion1) E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/mirror.bjtu.edu.cn_ubuntu_dists_lucid_main_binary-i386_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. Here is a copy of what shows on by screen (I used sudo -s because I thought it might be an environment issue). Not sure what to do here Bash seems to be installed and if I run bash I get no errors. I did just upgrade to 11.04.

I'm trying to install a package the depends on libgfortran1. libgfortran2 and libgfortran3 are installed on the system, but that doesn't satisfy the dependency. Here's the error: The following packages have unmet dependencies: r-base-core: Depends: libgfortran1 (>= 4.1.1-12) but it is not installable Recommends: r-recommended but it is not going to be installed Recommends: r-base-dev but it is not going to be installed is there a way around this problem, (eg; editing a dependency list to libgfortran3)? Or is this version of r-base-core effectively broken?
I'm new to Linux so still learning it. I have installed Debian/GNU 5.0 on my VMware Server with Gnome 2.28 as desktop environment. So I'm wondering why so much variable stuff like CD recorders, image editors, games is installed with Gnome. But this is inly a half of the problem! Gnome depends on them! So when I want to uninstall them via Synaptic Package Manager it asks me to uninstall Gnome too!
I want to install some things on machine without internet connection. There is something like packages.ubuntu.com or debian.packages.org for Fedora? Well - as you can see on this site i can see packages with depends (ex. frozen-bubble): click to Debian packages site, click for packages.ubuntu.com. I can download packages with their depends easily from that sites. How i can get rpm with depends? I need to collect everything on usb flash drive and install on off-line machine without any problems. I can download single rpm with yumdownloader but i need depends too. Koji not satisfy me - no depends info. I need to download few apps from repo (on machine with internet connection), but with their depends - how? Or maybe there is something like Keryx for rpm-based distros?
probably this is the most idiotic question and probably i know the answer. But I want to get confirmed. Is it anyway possible that my mobile broadband speed is slow because of my installation is wrong? actually, I formatted my machine and make it dual-boot. After that my mobile-broadband speed is horrible slow. I installed (a)kmod-wl and as dependency, broadcom-wl but my lspci only shows intel network manager.
When using apt-cache to find the reverse depends of a package, it would only show dependencies for packages in repositories that you have added wouldn't it? It wouldn't show that a package in a repository that your apt has never heard of depends on it?
I'm a slackware guy and don't use apt but am helping someone else and I almost told them that before I realized that I just made it up out of the blue.
I'm having a bit of trouble with a web server running Fedora 12. Apache works fine, and serves up php content without a hitch. My problem is SQLite -- I thought that it was built into php5, but support is disabled in the repo version. phpinfo shows this as part of the configure command:
The only solution I've read anywhere is "compile php from source," but I'd like to avoid that if possible, for ease of future upgrades. Is there a way to convince php to use sqlite despite its current state?
Based on Product highlights - openSUSE, it would appear that using sqlite3 in gnucash would be available. However, I do not have an option to save an existing book to the database format, nor is it available when creating a new book - only xml is available. Is there anything special that I need to do to enable the sqlite backend?
When I try to install Zimbra 7.1.2, the installation fails because it cannot find sqlite. I used strace and found that it uses "rpm -q sqlite" to find the package. But it fails-"package sqlite is not installed". Although I have sqlite installed:
I am using SQLite as my database for some portable cross platform applications I am working on with REALBasic as my IDE. I have an old Sybase 8.0 database that I can access via Microsoft Access and thereby extract the data I need from each table.
Now I know I can create .csv files from each table and load them into SQLite using the import tool, but then I can't define the primary key and other field attributes. So the other option is to load each file via SQL.
Now with most SQL editors I can create multiple queries and they will run just fine. But I can't seem to do that with the SQLite interfaces. I can paste multiple queries but I can only run one at a time. And by that I mean I have to click run.
Ummm that's not acceptable since my biggest table contains over 600,000 records. I have the queries all written, that was easy using a simple interface I wrote in Access.
Code: INSERT INTO tblMeters(recordId,meterId,meterName,meterSerNum,registerSerNum,mxuSerNum,meterType,manufacture,meterModel,readType,groupId,multiplier,rollover,vendorId,xfrmerCode,bldgCode,CATEGORY,energyType,unitOfMeasure,location,access,comments,dateInstalled,dateCalibrate,pipeSizeIn,pipeSizeOut,elecMeterSpecs)

So is there another method I can use? I can't seem to find anything relating to my particular question at the SQLite web site
i am trying to compile too the sqlite for arm9 - mini2440.could you please tell me what was the steps you make? im read that book but im still having some trouble while i compile i have been trying to do the compilation.
Once upon a time when I started sqlite from the command line I could using the tabbing autocomplete to enter the database name. This has not worked for a while now.
