The problem now is that pulseaudio fails to start... If I turn off the quiet mode in the boot options, it does throw up some errors (e.g. SQASHFS), and then stops after "starting abrt daemon".
On an AMD Athelon. It worked fine of F9, but started playing up, so I'm looking at upgrading.
I just got the problem while starting the dhcp daemon. Its showing failed. I need to start it for my clients to be autoinstalled. I am having CentOS 5.2 linux. I've installed all optional packages also while installing CentOS. How to start the dhcp daemon? I've tried the /etc/init.d/dhcpd start also. But it didnt work. Showing Failed.

Upon trying to log into daemon I get the cert then prompted with failed login. I am also not getting anything showing up in my logviewer (gnome). For most other daemons I have had them automagicaly pop up (denyhosts for example) how can I get nessus to show up as well.

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo last night suddenly my computer started running really slow. Like it would take a couple of minutes for a window to open. I tried to start System Monitor to see what was going on, but couldn't get it to launch. At first I thought something had grabbed the CPU, but eventually I discovered that something was writing a massive amount to the hard disk. The intensive disk activity continued for about 20 minutes as I watched nervously. Just as the disk activity suddenly stopped ABRT popped up a message that disappeared to fast to read fully, but it said something about a file that was too large.
This morning I discovered that about 9 GB of my hard disk had been used up. Using "find -size +1G" I found an 8.6 GB file in /var/spool/abrt /ccpp-1291706342-2244/ called "coredump."I don't know what a coredump is or how to look inside the file to see what might have caused its creation. But I do know that ABRT has not said a word about the incident.
Lately I have been getting a Python bug surfacing through my ABRT. The Python version is 2.6.2-2.fc12.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I was unsure whether this should go in General Support or in Installation. The problem is occurring on my first boot of a freshly installed F12 system, but the immediate problem seems to be more concerned with Automatic Bug Reporting Tool and/or Bugzilla plugin.
That more immediate problem is: when I run the tool to report a crash, it complains that the Bugzilla Plugin is not properly configured. So I look at Edit->Plugins->Bugzilla just as it suggests, and I see a bugzilla URL that looks right, and blank Login and Password.
However, since I just did the F12 installation, which presumably is designed for any user, not a developer or member of the F12 project, there is no reason to assume that I even HAVE a login. So this is the first question: what Login and Password are they expecting here? Is there a special Login for the ABRT?
Every time I login I get the abrt flashing light at the top of the screen, but nothing comes up. When I try to run it manually from Applications->System Tools->Automatic Bug Reporting Tool I get a popup with:

Is there a way to mass delete these reports to clean things up? I looked at abrt-cli and it has a --delete command, but only does them one at a time, too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedQuestion about the bug reporting system that I think is called ABRT Struggling with F15 and want to file a bug report, but the backtrace thingy says I should remove sensitive data first. Obviously a good idea, but the report is full of what to a non-programmer looks like gibberish - things like what I guess are hexadecimal numbers or memory addresses, none of which I understand. Can any of that incomprehensible stuff contain sensitive data, like encryption keys or anything someone would need to crack a machine? If I remove all of that then the bug report will be pretty sparse.
(Same question applies to SMOLT - machine profie report - as well) Or is "sensitive" just about the human readable data in the reports?
I was working on my Drupal test site (running Fedora 11) when it froze. I had to hold down the power button to get it to shut off. When I booted back up, I received the error message "Your system had a kernel failure" after logging in. When I tried to access my test site's ip address or 127.0.0.1, I get the error message "unable to connect". However, I can access and log into Webmin (version 1.440) at 127.0.0.1:10000. Then I noticed that my Apache Web Server (Apache version 2.2.15) was not started. When I try to start it, I get the error message:"Failed to start apache. The script will check if a daemon program is running (one per user or per session, haven't decided yet) and, if it isn't, will start it. I want this to be system-wide, not per-user. I thought about using /etc/profile (or creating a file in /etc/profile.d/) for CLI logins and /etc/X11/Xsession (same remark, Xsession.d) for GUI logins. My problem is that if the user uses a non-Bourne shell (e.g. TCSH) this won't work. Is there any initialization script that is run no matter what shell the user has?

For some weird reason dhcpd fails to startup, but when I installed gadmin's dhcpd GUI configuration tool and click activate to start the DHCP server. It works, but for some reason I can't get it to start like a regular service. (Service dhcpd start) Fails without a error code or message.

I rebuilt my box with Fedora 14. installed httpd, mysql php etc. when I tried to start my httpd it was giving me error about finding the root document and server name I was able to fix temp the issue with the name by placing ServerName 192.168.1.105:80 in the httpd.conf file and the root document somehow was fixed also. but I am still can't start the httpd and no error message except that it failed. I also disabled Selinix but still no luck.

I have SSH and WinSCP from work. I am using amd64 so the first attempt to install failed due to unmet dependencies. Then I read the MultiArch bit, installed ai32-libs and the install seemed to work. When my wife tried to start TV, it stated that the daemon was not running. When I try to restart the daemon, I get this.....
