Fedora :: MPlayer Interrupted By Signal 11 In Module

I'm depressed. Neither the compiled nor the rpm works well for me. After installing via the two methods refer to [URL] (MY os is fc13.i686) and I get the same error below when I play wmv:mplayer *.wmv. I really didn't know why.

MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: decode_video
- MPlayer crashed by bad usage of CPU/FPU/RAM. Recompile MPlayer with --enable-debug and make a 'gdb' backtrace and disassembly. Details in DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports_what.html#bugreports_crash.
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen. It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.
[ahui@ahui-host Downloads]$ mplayer -vc help |grep wmsd
wmsdmod dmo working Windows Media Screen Codec 2 [wmsdmod.dll]
The solution is to select a another video driver via appending parameter: "-vo gl_nosw " in command.
[ahui@ahui-host ~]$ mplayer -vo gl_nosw 33.wmv
Now I can successfully use my KMplayer to play these special wmv files via these configuration below:
click:setting->configure kmplayer->general options->output
Then set the video driver to OpenGL MT

I have a pretty huge (16x1TB disks) RAID6 LVM array on a Red Hat box which has really thrown a spanner in its works and I'm in a right fix: I was part-way through rebuilding the array with one replacement disk when a second died and a third seemed to have fallen from the array. I was replacing a disk which had been showing signs through SMART of probable failure (uncorrectable errors) and I noticed the second disk was just starting to give similar but slightly less numerous errors.
Now my logic based on a gradually growing understanding of the workings of the LVM is that I stand a chance of resurrecting things as the data held on the machine has been static for a while (a few days) before my attempted drive replacement and none of the disks have actually FAILED.
I have replaced the unit I removed so the physical devices are as they were before the exercise. I clearly need to carefully convince the configuration that it's "how it was" and there are a few meta-data files in the /etc/lvm/archive I believe I can use to re-"set the scene". Presently the machine fails to boot completely and it's patiently waiting in single-user mode for my next visit.

I'm new to Fedora! My problem is this, I was updating Fedora using yum, the updates were in the process of installing when I got up and tripped over my power cord and of course cut power to my computer killing it and interrupting the installation. I plug my computer back in and boot it back up. I make it to the blue Fedora loading screen with the blank Fedora symbol that fills with white while loading; loads fine but before the user login screen appear Fedora melts down. The screen goes black, the cursor appears with the circle loading timer, and some form of terminal is there were I can enter text but no commands like SU or whatever seems to work.

When opening gedit as a user I get the following message
Gkt-message: Failed to load module "'pk-gtk-module"
If I try to open gedit as root I get the same message but with other messages. These are shown in the attached file. gtk.txt
This is on an upgraded machine using the preupgrade method. The same has happened on two machines upgraded from F14 to F15 the same way. 64 bit systems.
How to clean this up so the messages do no appear?

This should be a very elementary question. I have a URL like http://SERVERNAME/file.wmv. When I enter it in "Open Location" in gnome-mpLayer it connects to the server and plays the stream. But when I run
mplayer "URL"
in the terminal I get a crazy endless loop of
Playing URL.
Resolving SERVERNAME for AF_INET6...
Couldn't resolve name for AF_INET6: SERVERNAME
Resolving SERVERNAME for AF_INET...
Connecting to server SERVERNAME[xxx.xx.xxx.xx]: 80...
Cache size set to 320 KBytes
I think my usage of mplayer in the terminal is correct, since I can watch other URL's.It's only this specific one that doesn't work (I am not authorized to write the URL because they want it to be private. So my question is: Does anyone know why I get this loop? Or is it possible to see how mplayer is called by gnome-mplayer and what output messages it generates?I use gnome-mplayer 0.9.9.2 and mplayer 1.0rc4-4.4.5 on Ubuntu 10.10.

I recently installed Fedora 12 -- a brand new install, not an upgrade. The system was previously using Fedora 11 without any problems. Fedora 12 installed without any issues, and I haven't really done any customization to it. I am running KDE. The system is hooked up a KVM switch.
When I am on system #2 (a Windows system) and I switch back to system #1 (Fedora) after a few minutes of time, the Fedora screen will be blank and the monitor will present an "input signal out of range" error. I can SSH into the box and kill X to get the screen back. This has not happened on this system with any previous versions of Fedora that had been running on it (everything since Fedora 7).

Is there a way to keep a wireless AP from generating an RF signal at all until it gets pinged by a client which:
1) Knows it's (the AP's) IP, name, passcode, and operating port,
2) Knows which frequency, and periodic ping-rate to use,
3) And, identifies itself not only appropriately, and timely, but only pings twice before it falls silent, awaiting a response, all others would over run the limit, and thusly fail the AP screening and the AP would totally ignore them, logs the attempts, and stays cold, dark, and silent.
In short, only one (1) device is capable of turning it on.
Seems to me that conceptually, it's quite do-able. Has it been done?

A week or so ago there was update to Fedora 14 that affected the wlan settings. Since then I keep getting a "low signal on..." warning. This flashes up at least every five seconds. I KNOW I have a low wi-fi signal! I don't need constantly reminding of it. Is there any way I can turn this warning off? I am using KDE4.6.1.

I've been unable to boot into x using the real-time kernel from CCRMA at home. I get the error "Failed to load module "nvidia" (module-specific error,0) no drivers available. I'm using the driver from Nvidia. I know that this is not an official Fedora kernel and I should be bothering CCRMA about this, but in the mean time could I edit the entry in grub.conf so that it will use the Nouveau driver for that kernel only? That way I could "dual-boot", and just use the rt kernel when I want to use audio software and don't need 3d graphics.

I'm trying to install Fedora 10. I'm booting from a CD, and the installation gets as far as those 3 progress bars in the very beginning. As soon as they all load, my monitor goes black and starts flashing a "DVI Input Out Of Range" warning. That's all.
I'm using a
nvidia geforce 8800 gtx
and the Planar PX3611W monitor.

I had the following problem while i installed fedora on my machine: The boot record was normally read from the installation CD and the boot screen appear, (up to this moment my Graphic Adapter is going fine) then i select the first option (which is the default as well) to boot fedora from the CD, and suddenly my monitor inform me that there is no input signal. I think it might be some driver problem, but my adapter is pretty common i think (NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT), so its not very likely.
Things i have to note:
1. My Adapter is working on my Windows installation.
2. I manage to install fedora by removing my GeForce 9600 GT and using the on board Graphical Card from my main board.

I am currently working on "Creation of Postmortem data logger in Linux on Intel architecture. Its nothing but core utility creation. how the signal handlers for various signals(SIGSEGV,SIGABRT,SIGFPE etc) which produce core dump upon crashing an application internally implemented in Linux kernel. I need to re-write these signal handlers with my own user specific needs and rebuild the kernel. It makes my kernel producing the core file (upon crashing an application) with user specific needs like showing registers, stackdump and backtrace etc.

I just upgraded to F15 and it went well. But at the next and each subsequent cold boot the BIOS reports "Your system last boot fail or post interrupted Please enter setup to load default and reboot". The board is an asus P5N-D. I press F1 to blow past the error and all is well until the next cold boot. Restarts are fine, no errors at all.

or any conversion I suppose. My question is simple: How do I use this command: mplayer -ao pcm *.m4a -ao pcm:file="*.mp3" to convert whole directories and place the converted tracks into another directory. The way it's listed above it will convert all songs with a .mp4 extension into a single file with a .mp3 extension. Which of course, is not what I want, but I know of no other way to use this command.

When I try to load the Realtek 8187 modules to kernel using the ./wlan1up command, I get the following error:
[root@localhost rtl8187_linux_26.1025.0328.2007]# ./wlan1up
insmod: error inserting 'ieee80211_crypt-rtl.ko': -1 File exists

Can someone tell me how to correct the "Invalid module format"? I hope that correcting the "Invalid module format" error, I will not have the "Unknown symbol in module" error.
Note: I am using wlan1 for this module as I previously am online with the wlan0 network. The same error occurs if I use ./wlan0up.

Seems it doesn't get a signal from graphics controller. Desktop seems to work fine (can move the mouse pointer on the other screen into "the black hole"). I use Fedora 13 x86_64.
