Jan 16, 2010I'm trying to play this game called RuneScape. However it seems that it won't load on my chromium. Maybe somethings wrong with java idk. If you can go to this website [URL] Just click play now and tell me if it runs for you or not. If it does run can you tell me what you did to make your java work. Because for me the screen just stays black and doesn't load, but it works well on firefox, but I don't like that it uses too much of my ram. So I'd rather try to get chromium up and running for me.

Jun 24, 2011Recently, while trying to do a bank transaction using chromium browser, I had to abandon it midway because I was told that java script was not enabled.
Got the same message in FF as well. Then, I went back to Windows & completed the job using IE.
How to enable the java script on chromium? I don't find an option in the browser's settings.
Edit: I found later that java script was in fact enabled in FF; but the Bank page still popped out the message that it was not enabled.

For chromium, I have the following symlink:

For firefox, I have:
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so -> /usr/java/jre1.6.0_25/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so
alternatives --config java shows:There are 2 programs which provide 'java'.

Sep 26, 2010I have forwarded both port 22 and 9000 on my router. I can connect on 22 and remotely login into the machine. The problem when I start my java listener program which is listening on 9000 it cant not establish any connection. I have even add this into the iptables too -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 9000 -j ACCEPT. I have disabled the SELINUX too. May 2, 2011I often use the option in Chromium to create 'application shortcuts'. These are instances of Chromium that make a website look more like an app by not including most of Chromium's toolbars. I use it for gmail and google docs and spreadsheets and calendar. In 11.04 I have set up Desktop launchers and copied them across to the Launcher (what an odd way to add something to the launcher, why no right-click 'add launcher' option?)
The problem is that the launcher thinks all these apps are chromium (which they are really, but I would like them to be seen as separate apps). If I minimize my gmail window, a little triangle appears next to the chromium icon, not the gmail icon. To get the window back, I have to click on the Chromium icon. Clicking on the gmail icon launches a new instance of it (also tied to the Chromium icon).

Jul 22, 2011In v10 I could not paste into a java chat window....didn't make me happy but I lived with it using link shortners and hand typing things.Now in v11(.04) not only can I not do that but now when I click on a link in the java chat window it takes about 5 minutes for it to open a new tab in Firefox.For Windows the chat window also has pasting problems and you need to revert to Java 6 build 23. I have tried to install Groovy and Tomcat java stuffs and that didn't help and I ended up reInstalling 11.04...I'm thinking of going back to v10. This is rough.

Searched google but haven't found anything but some bug fixes. Also saw something about ipv6, but not sure if that's related. That seemed to affect java programs. I use jedit and that is working fine. I downloaded the latest SDK from Sun and created a link from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and /usr/lib/iceweasel/plugins and /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins to /opt/SDK/jdk/jre/plugin/i386/ns7-gcc29/libjavaplugin_oji.so. Prior to the update to 3.5.6, the plugins were working and I could get the ..... stuff etc.
