Fedora Hardware :: Wireless PCI Card For F64?

I was hoping somebody could give me some advice. I've just bought a new computer and have upgraded to the wonderful world of 64 bit computing (to take advantage of my new hardware) however this has rendered my old wireless pci card obsolete. I would like to buy a new wireless pci card that is both natively supported by Fedora (64 bit) and is compatible with Windows 7 64bit. Any suggestions on what would be a good choice? There is a bewildering array of different cards from different manufacturers and I have no idea how Linux friendly they are. I don't really want to spend too much money (30 ish would be my absolute maximum).

Just installed Fedora 14 from the Live CD i686 on my Dell Inspiron 1521. I can't connect to the SpeedTouch 585 on either wireless broadcom card or the wired Ethernet card.
I can connect to it from the same Laptop on the Vista which is on dual boot on the same laptop.
Further confusing is that I ran Fedora 14 and connected to another SpeedTouch today.
Already checked the Channel on the wireless nic and it's on the same one as the SpeedTouch.

I have a Dell inspiron 1420 and its set up as a dual boot. Windows/Fedora.I cant get the wireless card to work. I review some previous posts but still cant get it working.
I did a /sbin/lspci

I have a Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976. Brand new. I made a partition and made it dual boot with windows seven and fedora with the newest version from the site. It won't recognize the wireless card. I'm assuming it needs drivers but I don't know where to find drivers so it will recognize.
The wireless does work on the windows side so I know it's not a problem with the wireless card.

Was following a tutorial on fedoraproject, but that requires ndiswrapper and it seems that is not availlable for F14. I ran yum install kmod-ndiswrapper but got "nothing to do" message. how I can install this PCI card. I tried to find a atheros chipset but cannot find one

Preamble: Just installed fedora 7 on old sony viaio and this is the first linux distro I have ever found useful, as no time for steep learning curve though patient enough.What PCI wireless card should or could I buy that might be detected, if any? Or will I have to do much hacking and tinkering? If so, so be it!

I just loaded the boot-able cd, and I do not have enough knowledge with Linux bases OS's to figure out how to enable the wireless card. ifconfig produces an eth0 and a lo, when I try ifup wlan0, it says: configuration for wlan0 not found. I have looked at all the forums notes and cannot find anything that seams like it is the same problem.

I searched this forum for posts similar to the problem I am having and i found a few, but I did not understand the solution (unexperienced user here) so I thought i would ask.I recently installed fedora 13 on my laptop and everything appears to be detected, with the exception to my wireless card (a broadcom 43225 card).I checked the list of drivers that came with installation and i could not find one for this particular card. is there any way for me to get a driver that would work with it (maybe a more general driver, just something to make it possible to connect over the internet) Or is it

i'm new to linux, and recently installed fedora 14 on an old hp pavillion dv2700. it originally had vista home premium, but the hard drive crashed and had to be replaced with a new one, which had no os on it. i installed fedora several days ago, and everything worked perfectly until a day ago when suddenly the wireless card wouldn't turn on anymore.
my sister was using the computer (just videos) and a few seconds after she handed it back to me, the wireless light turned from blue to amber, and it said wireless was diabled, even though i hadn't touched the switch. before the computer crashed, it had a problem of the light always being amber when it woke up from standby, but flipping the switch off and back on would fix it. now no amount of wiggling and flipping seems to do the trick.

I am trying to get a netgear wireless usb card to work correctly. I have installed ndiswrapper and gotten the correct drivers installed. The device does show up with lsusb. I can't seem to figure out how to get the wireless card to show up in gnome to start using it.
Update: the ndiswrapper module does load but when i run ndiswrapper -l it just shows the driver installed but, it is not showing my wireless usb card (0846:9020).

I have installed Fedora 8 on my laptop. My laptop has a " Network controller:
Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI " wireless Card.
I want to get the wireless working. I did an 'lsmod' and I found that the modules for this card is not installed. I tried to start Network Manager, but network manager cannot connect to wireless but it cant. How and where can I get the drivers for this and how do I install those modules. My laptop is a Dell vostro 1400.

I am building a CarPC which I'd like to have wireless internet access on. I have Verizon phone service so if there is a Verizon air card (not wireless card, an air card so I can have constant access without having to search for hot spots) that would work with Fedora 10 I would be very happy. I don't really know where to start and I can't find too much on Google, so I'm just looking for what options are available.

I chose to change my operating system from Microsoft Xp to Linux and finally chose Fedora to be my new OS.
After Fedora installation I got a problem that I cannot connect to my wireless network I used to using Xp, I think that my wireless card is not installed on Fedora because when I checked in the network configuration I found that the only installed adapter is the Ethernet Realtek for the wired connection.
My OS is Fedora 11.
The CPU Model name is : Intel (R) Core (TM) 2 Duo CPU T8300 @2.40 GHz, so I think that my architecture is x86_64.
My Network controller is : Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g

I am very new to Linux and need to install a driver for my wireless card. I am trying to install the RT3070 v2.0.1.0 driver from Ralink. I am running Fedora 2.6.29.4-167.fc11.i686.PAE. I have read the thread in the Solutions section about this driver, but unfortunately this is somewhat above my levels of comprehension, and I don't really know where to start.

I have a relatively new F12 install (one week old) on which I got my wireless Broadcom card working using kmod-wl-PAE. It was a very easy process - not really a process just yum install kmod-wl-PAE.
After a few updates, I notice that the wireless card stopped working. I assumed maybe there was an update that conflicted, so I did a reinstall of kmod-wl-PAE and it worked again immediately.
Then I started installing compiz-fusion. Immediately after, wireless is broken again. So I yum erase kmod-wl-PAE and then yum install kmod-wl-PAE and it works again.
Now, only slightly later that same day, wireless stops working more or less randomly and I cannot get the reinstall of kmod-wl-PAE to fix it. So I uninstall, disable compiz-fusion, shut down, and restart the computer to try again. My thought is that maybe along the way my autostart compiz or something about compiz is causing the wireless not to configure properly. When I restart, wireless is working. Without kmod-wl-PAE installed:
yum info kmod-wl-PaE

I have for 2 months Toshiba Satellite A 500-18Q (Core Duo, Windows7 pre-installed). I have just wifi internet in my home, with Windows7 it works perfectly and automatic. However, my fresh- installed Fedora12 cannot see any wifi at all. I my NetworkManager I can see a single line with "eth0" which seems to refer to a normal (cable) connection. How to activate wifi? Just add a new line with eth1 and Wireless connection? Or I need to install some drivers?

I recently purchased an Acer eMachines E525 laptop, and currently have it dual booting Windows 7 and Fedora 12 x86_64 with the 2.6.31.5-127 kernel. I've been completely unable to get the wireless card working in Fedora (it works fine in windows).
lspci lists the following about the wireless card:

so I assume it's a BCM4312.
So far I have tried downloading the driver from [URL] and then trying to install it according to the accompanying readme file: [URL]. However, when I try to make the driver, I get the following message:

make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.32.10-90.fc12.x86_64/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
The Readme says that if I get this kind of error, I need to install the "kernel-devel" package, but I have this installed and it still returns the same error.
I have also tried following the fw-cutter instructions for fedora from [URL], but it still doesn't work. I realise there's the option of using ndiswrapper, but I gave that a shot with Fedora 11 on the same machine and had no luck, and I'd really like to see whether any of the other options work before going down that route.

I have been running F13 since it came out, with the wireless working fine since I got it working (using the RPM Fusion repository, broadcom-wl-5.60.48.36-1.fc13). Since I updated software (without reading what was to be updated), yesterday, I am unable to even find wireless networks, although I am, as you can see, able to access through eth0 It is not a hardware problem, as I can not only find them, but access them on Ubuntu 9.10 live disc. I know that most people are using F12 and F13 but I just installed F10 on one of my machines. The Kernel is 2.6.27.5-117.fc10.i686 and the GUI is Gnome 2.24.1.I have a Trendnet wireless card already installed in the machine from when it ran XP which is in the tew-421pc/tew-423pi family. Is there a device manager/hardware installer that I can use to set up the wireless card or does anyone know of a driver install program for this card?

I recently purchased an MSI A5000 notebook, but regrettably it happens to use an obscure branded wireless card that's given me quite a bit of frustration to get working. I do have a bit of history behind this card that might help to solve this problem. First of all the card is a Ralink rt3090STA, and the manufacturer does provide a linux driver for this card (available here)
I was using Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit until last week, when I decided that I would like to try using a 64 bit system. I would prefer to use fedora instead of Ubuntu for the time being. Ubuntu had some major problems recognizing the card for some time before I was able to get it to work. The process I used to resolve the issue on my Ubuntu system has not proven successful on Fedora 13 x64, and I would like any help I can get to try to resolve this problem.

I connected to internet via a USB wireless card, it works OK in GNOME, but it can't be detected on KDE. When enter KDE, iwconfig can not find any wlan. Wireless network connection not configured caused no wireless AP available, so the network not available. After I configured the wireless connection, The problem fixed. I'm replying in KDE now.

I have a wireless card that i have to compile the drivers, the problem is getting the packages that are needed to compile, without internet. so does anyone know of a card like this. (has to be usb because i do not have a free pci slot)

I have just downloaded realtek rtl98192se for my wireless pci card. after extracting the file, the user guide states to go to the top level of the directory and execute the command 'make' to compile the driver
