In [URL] I can right-click on a flash video and have the option to access "local settings" under "Settings" to specify configuration for webcam, mic, etc. But in Facebook I need to adjust a setting and the "Setting" option for local config is gray-ed out, I can't access it.
I'm running OpenSUSE 11.4, and I've seen this in GNOME and KDE within Firefox.
I'm trying to load the flash stuff in webpages, but it says i need the flash plugin.
I download the YUM rpm installer, and use yum localinstall to do it.
Terminal say: /home/wade/Download/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm: does not update installed package.
I have already tried installing it, and it says it worked fine, but I'm still unable to view flash.
After installing Skype 2.1.0.81-fc10.i586.rpm (skype.com: fedora 10+) I could see and hear my friends, but they only hear me. Cheese: No device found. Terminal (parts):
Code:
[root@localhost ~]# ls /dev/video*
ls: /dev/video* ...not found

I find that once i log into gnome i have to pull out the Logitech C600 web cam and plug it for it to show up in the 'input' tab under sound preferences.
It's a bit of a hassle to do this every time i log on. I tested it in Ubuntu 10.04 and the webcam is properly detected at the boot.
I can't play some ..... videos since I guess I don't have "latest" flash player (I do have a flash lib in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins). I'm tired of this proprietary nonsense - is gnash or something else working with you tube and firefox ? or epithany ? how does gnash, whatever get plugged into Firefox so that clicking on a you tube video will bring it up ? Also if I have flash block installed will this interfere with gnash ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Mozilla version (tar.gz) of FF 3.5.5 and I'm using the Adobe Repo to install Flash 10. Everytime I go to a Flash site (....., Hulu, Amazon VOD) the browser crashes. If I use the Fedora Repo version of FF (also 3.5.5) then the crashing is much less frequent, although it does still happen. I tried making a symbolic link from the flash-plugin directory under /usr/lib/flash-plugin into the /home/user/firefox/plugins directory, but still no dice. How do I get Flash to behave properly with my Mozilla version of FF 3.5.5...any tips?
View 11 Replies View RelatedEach time I was playing video on a web browser, I got the cpu temperature growing to 85 and 91 degrees...
I thought that it's caused by the browser, until I played Machinarium (the flash game without browser) I realized that only Adobe flash is the problem. I have the last Adobe flash update/ using fc12.
Can you direct me to a tutorial for installing adobe flash?
View 5 Replies View Relatedi'm running on an i686 architecture with a 32-bit processor, and i'm using a fully updated firefox, more or less. i was able to install adobe flash 10 successfully, and i can load, manipulate, and access flash programs without incident. however, if i am running a flash program on one tab, and then in another tab i load another program (say an advertisement), the original program crashes.
why this is annoying:
i will listen to a song on videos, and open another tab to browse. a flash advertisement will crash the videos video. the video's viewing area turns white/gray and requires a refresh of the page - not a restart of the browser - to work properly. the only add-ons i installed are firebug and fireftp.
I am running F13 64 bit . I tried to install Adobe Flash Player, which downloads a adobe down loader, this didn't work the first time and when I try to re-download the package installer in Gnome says its already installed. I am stuck as to what to do next I can use terminal etc, I not a complete noob, fairly noob but not totally. I just need a poke in the right direction.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed Fedora 11 on my Sony Vaio laptop. I couldn't stand Windows Vista any longer. I installed Fedora 11 just fine with no issues. But I seem to be having trouble installing programs such as Adobe Flash Player, Reader, Limewire, Java pluggin, etc. Everytime I try to install these, it says for example "Could not display "/home/blackout87gn/Download/jre-6u16-linux-i586-rpm.bin". This was for the Java file I downloaded. I made sure that all these files I downloaded were for Linux. So being the newb that I am, can someone point me in the right direction on how to install these applications? Also what does .rpm .bin .deb and .tar.gz represent?

FireFox told me to upgrade Adobe Flash Player when I tried to view YouTune's videos, but after I tried twice to download (open directly) it from Adobe, it still didn't work.
The first time I opened 'YUM for Linux', then I tried again the '.rpm for Linux' file, all installed
automatically.

View 14 Replies View RelatedSo, I've done a fresh install of F13 on my laptop and the very first thing I chose to add was Adobe Flash (installed with help of Autoten). Flash plugin in Firefox seems to be working alright, but make a right-click on any Flash content on a web page - and browser will freeze.
I'm even puzzled about what can be done to diagnose the problem. Running Firefox from a terminal emulator doesn't give any useful feedback on this situation.
some input on what can be done to clear things up.
P.S. I'm running a 32 bit version OS.
