Half the time I click on a text box to write and star typing only to find out I'm typing somewhere other than where I clicked.It's not dwell click and the active text box seems to be related to mouseover.

Unfortunately, Linux drivers are not provided for these mice.Is there an equivalent wireless mouse that works well in Linux? Ideally with native support or community provided drivers, etc.

It is nice to have the option of the arrows on top and bottom, along with the scroll tab thing.
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I finally wanted to install Debian to my hardrive. Somehow, how to copy it to USB drive and make it boot-able. Installation process started without problems, but it failed on step called (something like) "Find files in CD-ROM" - what was expectable, since I used USB drive. So I wanted to unmount "/cdrom" and mount my USB drive there instead. I moved to another terminal, and searched for right device. "ls /dev" does not help, since I can't scroll to see other devices. Also kernel messages - can't scroll. Tried to change keyboard layout, still didn't work. I also can't use less, because there is no apt-get installed. Another problem is, that after trying to mount only viewable device (/dev/sda1), mount failed bacause I gave there invalid argument, or directory didn't exist. (Note that I created directory in /mnt/... or /media/... first). So I am asking - how can I remap keyboard to use those page up/down keys?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI wonder if anyone has managed to get this game working? Looks interesting... I tried to install it on my Testing amd64 having read about it in linuxjournal and in the link given there. But no luck...
I downloaded the x86 & x86-64 installer with:
wget [URL]
Then according to the guide:
chmod u+x dangerdeep-0.3.0-linux-installer.bin
Then I tried to run the installer from the user terminal but it informed that it was necessary to run it as root. After installing it with
# ./dangerdeep-0.3.0-linux-installer.bin
I typed in dangerdeep in the user terminal which returned:
$ dangerdeep
dangerdeep: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
found information in Synaptic that the library libgl1-mesa-swx11 is also known as libGL or libGL.so.1.
But installing it with # aptitude install libgl1-mesa-swx11 results in the removal of libgl1-mesa-glx, and when trying to run the game by typing dangerdeep in the terminal, it still complains about an error while loading shared libraries libGL.so.1.
it looks a bit tricky to get this game running on Squeeze so I reinstalled libgl1-mesa-glx.
I have been looking at how to avoid typing my firefox master password. So far no luck.
Do you know of a way to have the master password in a file on a USB stick?
I am also looking for a way to integrate keepassx with firefox. I found passifox at[URL].. It depends on keepasshttp and seems to be a windows thing.
I tried to inactivate my touchpad during typing in order to avoid the curser jumping all the time due to accicentally hitting the pad.
The touchpad however worked from intallation on,without problems. Even two finger scrolling is supported perfectly. All attempts that I found in searching the internet rely on changes in the xorg.conf. I found out that it is quite normal to not have this file with debian squeeze, however I didn't find a solution how to change the configurations without it.
$ syndaemon -d -k

I am having some issues with the typing speed in gedit. When typing the response is usually really slow,It can be up to a second or so between rendering keystrokes. I don't believe it has anything to do with resources. I have checked the processes running when it happens and everything looks pretty normal cpu usuage is also very low at the time. The system is very responsive with everything else at the time.
I only have this problem with gedit, gvim, vim, nano etc are fine. Maybe an issue with a GTK lib of some sort? The problem happens with very small files like little bash scripts. I have including some info about the system ...

I recently built my first computer which has Debian Jessie running on it.
Everything was running great until I updated the computer a few days ago. After doing that and turning it on a few hours later, the keyboard started missing letters (as in it wouldn't register every key click) and was also typing some letters over and over again. It seems that it doesn't matter what key I press, the same problem occurs.
I tried using the keyboard on my laptop; it worked perfectly. I also tried connecting up another keyboard I had laying around and that seemed to have the same issue. Both keyboards are mechanical.
The first might be a libinput issue (I believe it's new within the last year or so): After typing, two-finger scrolling does not work until a delay of what seems to be a full second or more has passed. It's not a movement threshold issue, since wild movements don't fix the issue, nor is this delay experienced without first typing.
Note that moving the pointer and clicking with the touchpad work immediately after typing. Only two-finger scrolling seems to be delayed.
The second issue is that the touchpad does not function whatsoever during installation. Using the graphical installer, I have to rely entirely on the keyboard to navigate.

I want to ask you it is possible to increase/ decrease volume in debian with mouse scroll. I used Linux Mint and when I put the mouse pointer on the volume icon it was possible to control the volume only with mouse scroll. Now in Debian, first I have to click on volume icon and then to increase volume with mouse scroll.

I used to run lighttpd with php in my server until now and all was fine.But yesterday I changed my website which needs apache to run. So installed apache using yum install httpd command.
Then I added the virtual host name of my domain in webmin panel but when i try to run my php script in browser then its not opening php pages.
Instead it downloads php files like index.php when i open in browser.So I guess apache is not able to compile and run php pages. Only html pages are opening right now..
when i input man <cmd>.....it's saying formatting pages....n then it is displaying blank page.

I've check the mouse setting in gnome to find that it only offers a few options like primary key and mouse speed. Is there any way to tune the up/down scale to normal?
Fresh install of Debian 8.1, have not changed a single setting anywhere. Was scrolling in the web browser and noticed that if I scrolled up or down fast enough the active window changes. Using kde as the desktop environment. Also this has nothing to do with the browser as it happens with anything I have open. Heck trying to scroll in console and having a document open just flips between the two of them. Only way this does not happen is if I scroll slow enough.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion Dv71245dx Laptop running Debian Wheezy, which has been alright so far except for the mouse wheel built into the right side of the touch mousepad. It's positioned in such a way that makes my thumb hit it all the time by accident while typing, and it's been a total nightmare. I would just like to disable the scroll wheel feature on this mousepad entirely, but I would like to do so in such a way that I can still use the scroll wheel on my USB mouse whenever I have that plugged in.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Firefox 3.6 on Debian Squeeze. Everything went smoothly, but Firefox looks weird. The interface reminds me of Windows 98 and anytime I scroll through the menus the highlighter is grey and it makes things awfully hard to read. I'm not sure what could be wrong but I'm hoping someone here I'm not sure how to insert small images as url links so I'll just post links to screenshots I took for reference.[URL]Oh, and one other problem I recently discovered, flash doesn't seem to work. It works just fine in Iceweasel but I am told I have to install it in Firefox. I installed libflashplayer.so in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins but that doesn't seem to have helped. Come to think of it, it probably wouldn't since it's probably the 32-bit version I got from their site, I run on 64 bit.

This is a simplified minimal conky configuration file used to show the same problem:
Code: Select allalignment bottom_middle

border_width 1
default_color white
default_outline_color white
default_shade_color white
double_buffer yes

Here is the output I'm getting:
Code: Select all     ABC    /*doesn't scroll, UNEXPECTED, shows 10 spaces before ABC*/
     ABC    --||--
abcdefghijklmnopABC /*doesn't scroll, WORKS AS EXPECTED as scroll length is 25 which is longer than text "abcdefghijklmnop" */
abcdefghijklmnopABC --||--
abcdefghijklmnopABC /*WORKS, everything before ABC scrolls 5 characters at a time*/
In windows, using firefox you can use backspace key to navigate back pages in history. Now in Debian - I try and nothing happens. Does anyone know how to change that?

In squeeze, Kazehakase just displays a blank page, regardless of how I open it (from file manager, from terminal, from mail client or from menu and bookmark.) This problem occurs with version 0.5.8-3 (i386) and goes away with a forced downgrade to 0.5.8-2. If I open it from a terminal, the program open to a blank page, and there's no output in the terminal. Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone have suggestions on what to look for to maybe fix this? I don't see any matching bug reports, but I'm prepared to make one.

I guess this is a part deux, since I already posted one rendering issue which was eventually resolved ... having to do with the themes of this Debian Forum. Well, I don't know if this is related to that, but yesterday I noticed on another site that my Iceweasel 4.01 is not displaying portions of pages properly. See attached images. Both Chrome & Opera display that page correctly, I've included a screenshot of the same page with Chrome. I have JAVA installed and everything works perfectly fine accross the board on all browsers, except for this "once in a while" issue with Iceweasel. I've noticed this "missing content oddity" on three sites so far (out of 50 or more). No problem with eBay, craigslist, paypal, and other major players.
Open the images with a new tab, then compare both images side by side for best results.

I'm very new to Linux, and I have ran a Windows XP server before, with a Apache2 Server software for Windows. and didn't have any problems with it, but I really want to set this server up with Linux.
The server is running, but the only thing that comes up in the browser, is the html pages, the pages call all the images from a folder /images/ but for some reason I can't get it to pull the folder up. None of the graphics show on any of the pages.
I also have a VirtualHost setup, and have another website set up in the DocumentRoot with the 2nd site, but it won't come up ether, even tho it is listed as the 2nd VirtualHost, and have that folder set up as the DocumentRoot.
I'm just using IP Addresses for now till I get this all sorted out.So if I enter the IP the main page comes up, just no graphics. if I enter the IP Address/2ndSiteFolder/ I get a directory listing with the 2nd site folder listed, so now if I click on the 2ndSiteFolderName, it comes up as IP/2ndSiteFolder/2ndSiteFolder/ Now the 2nd site comes up, and so does all the Graphics for that site, even if I go to some of the other subfolders site. So its just weird. I don't know what I need to do to get this to work right.
I know it has to do with setting up the folders for VirtualHost, I just don't know what it is. I have been working on this for a week, and I'm not getting anywhere..
