I wanna install adobe flash player with yum but it fails to download, I think there may be something wrong with the repositories. Totally, could you give me a step by step instruction for installing the flash player.. i have already tried downloading it from adobe web site for linux and rpm (yum) but i couldn't install it. i also had NOKEY letter in the result

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Linux/Linux etch and I cannot seem to download some versions o adobe flash player, when I go to some sites and the require me to download the latest AFP, my computer just stacks it in my downloads and I end up with 10 different versions AFP just sitting in my computer, I thy to open and it says cannot open program etc. also sometimes i go to sites and I cannot type in some comment bars, also some of the links in Yahoo won't work like my address book won't open...i cannot adjust my filters, I click and nothing happens.

E: The package adobe-flashplugin needs to be reinstalled, but I can't find an archive for it.
E:Internal error opening cache (1). Please report.
Every time I close this window synaptic package manager also closes. When I try to download flash player directly from the adobe web page, synaptic refuses to cooperate. I am now stuck as I can't delete this or download anything else.Computer janitor won,t delete it either.Also when I go applications>ubuntu software centre, everything I try to download comes up with Not available in this critical data.I can see this is going to be a very steep learning curve.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust recently instralled CentOS 5.3 and I'm loving it! Not a pro by all means in linux, but i do know my way around a bit (previously used RHEL, Fedora and Ubuntu distros).
As my topic states, for some stupid reason Flash works just fine in Xfce, but when i change desktop environments it comes up with the screen "You need to install Adobe Flash Player 8" or something to that effect. Seriously... the f**k?!
Mind you I only found that by mistake - spent all night reading faqs, blogs, fora etc. trying to get the bloody thing working in KDE - full of obsolete tips and URLs unfortunately (plenty of help running 32-bit flash in 64-bit kernel!). I then changed to Xfce to check something else, and it worked fine, no warnings!!

View 3 Replies View Relatedi am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."

It should be easy, but Adobe's page for Linux downloads has a choice of about five different downloads. I tried one and it gave me some files I don't know what to do with. I do already have Flash on my computer, which I got from the Ubuntu software centre, and it works for most things but some things tell me I need a newer version.
