Feb 10, 2010I recently installed Deluge 1.2.0 from the following PPA:[URL]I using this on two different Linux computers. One is running Linux Mint 8 and the other is running Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. The first time on either computer when I enable WebUI in the Deluge GUI it works fine. However if I ever disable it in plugins section I am subsequently unable to re-enable it (doesn't appear in the side panel again). Rebooting or reinstalling Deluge seems to have no effect.Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

May 30, 2010I want to enable quota on my centos 5.5, I've tried and it showed correctly quotacheck but when i rebooted the machine it showed me an error saying that fsck.ext3: no such file or direcotory while trying to open /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 below are my fdisk and fstab file. how can I enable quota based on below configuration. otherwise may be I have to reformat the machine..n it'll be really painfull for me.

Jun 25, 2009We use Centos 5.3 which we deploy to dozens of boxes in different buildings throughout our shop. I set up KDE to be the default windows manager for these boxes, although the individual users can choose for themselves. We use LDAP authentication, and typically logging in through the LDAP into KDE goes without a hitch. However, a couple users are having problems logging in to their accounts through KDE, my boss and my boss's boss to be specific. We have NFS shares which serve up each users home directory regardless of where they connect in our system. When my boss, or his boss, try to log in, they put in their credentials, and LDAP accepts them, but KDE never starts. The splash screen which displays that it's "initializing system services" or "loading desktop" doesn't even come up, it just has a picture of the desktop with a cursor, and hangs there. I've tried deleting the .kde directories in their home folders, but that doesn't work. Those two are the only accounts out of our entire system that have problems logging in to KDE, and I have no idea why!
I've looked in the .xsession-errors file, here's a copy code...
I know it isn't the xset or "no profile" errors because all the users I've checked get those too, but they can log in just fine. Both xsession files on both users are almost identical to this one, it just seems that KDE will never start.

The installation works fine and on the last line appears: Complete!
But openssh is not working:

Have you any ideas? The ping works to this maschine.
I checked the rpm (thanks to pSchaff)
rpm -qa *ssh*

Do I need additional openssh-client?
I tried: yum install openssh-client but without success --> it appers "nothing to do"

May 14, 2011One of my colleagues was working on my system (Centos 5.6). He deleted some files from the /tmp directory (he thought he was cleaning up files). Right after that, he rebooted the system. I now can no longer login.
Prior to this, here's what I see following a reboot code...
no matter what I use, I cannot login -- it takes me back to the (none) login: prompt
Any ideas? I know that deleting from the /tmp directory could lead to catastrophic results, but he thinks he only deleted a specific set of files.

May 22, 2009Does anyone know a way to activate a screensaver at the login screen? I've got about 5 machines here, and I'd really like the ability to just have the screensaver come on after 5 minutes of sitting there with nobody logged in...
Even a way to blank the screen would be nice. However, if we were to blank the screen, I need to ensure that it doesn't do a DPMS blanking, since we use calibrated monitors here, and turning them off sucks.

I have a eucalyptus instance (vm) running an older version of centos (5.3?). As a vm it has no graphical display. I'd like to run a graphical app there so that it displays back on my local machine.
Used xhost locally and it shows the remote IP (eucalyptus instance) as enabled. On the remote side (eucalyptus instance) I set DISPLAY with:
export DISPLAY xx.xx.xx.xx:0.0
where xx.xx.xx.xx is my local ip address. Oh, I did install X in the vm instance (yum groupinstall "X Window System"). X is installed but not running there (does the point of origin of the x app need to have X running as well - and what does this mean in a vm which is a non-graphicla environment?).

Sep 27, 2010I am unable to boot my server and it is erroring with the message "Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!". Here are the details:
I have a brand new Dell PowerEdge T110 server with Quad-Core Xeon CPU and 2GB 1333MHz RAM. I have installed a hard disk (SATA, 7.2rpm) on this machine that I removed from another Dell PowerEdge T100 server with Dual-Core Xeon CPU that was running software RAID 1.
Now when I boot the new T110 server, it displays the following error messages code...
I am running CentOs v5.5 x86-64. If I put the hard disk back into T100, it boots fine. I do not know why it is not working with T110 server.

Jan 3, 2011I am stepping into Linux world ...and I have chosen CentOS.
I have installed CentOS 5.5 on a dedicated IBM server successfully. My server has two network cards. I have configured eth0 for lease line internet connection with a live IP (113.xxx.xxx.xxx) and eth1 for local LAN with a static IP (192.168.0.1).
Now,
1. DHCP is working fine and I can access the server from my Windows XP clients.
2. I can access the server with SSH client PuTTY from home ( with the live IP ) and from the local LAN (with static IP 192.168.0.1)
3. I can access my shared server directory 'public' from my XP clients
4. Internet is working on sever and I have updated the server with yum update.
But, I cannot access internet from my XP clients machines.
I read "The Definitive Guide to CentOS" and tweaked the config files in different ways but it did not help. now after two sleepless nights I am here as my last hope.
I admit, I am not aware of every linux terms and commands, but I am getting into it. code...

In short to enable delay pools may I just use

Feb 23, 2009I'm in rescue mode with Centos 5.2 disk trying to install/mount a new disk to extract data out from the failed server.
Plugged in a new SATA drive and syslog shows the drive being detected
SCSI device sdg: blah
sdg: Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00
sdg: unknown partition table
sd 3:0:0:0: attached scsi disk sdg
However fdisk and mount does not find the drive. I tried echo "---" /sys/class/scsi_host/host3/scan based on one of the previous threads but get "write error: invalid argument".
how should I get the drive to be usable?
