View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a netbook (VPC) which is basic netbook with limited features. It has a basic version of Linux (Linux 2.6.24 platform). My instruction booklet says it does not support Flash (player): Flash - The current browser does not support any Flash players. This will prevent viewing some web pages. Certain major websites have a simplified version on the server which will load up. When I try to play games in flash, it does not work either. Browsing on the web also is very limited, I only see mobile (cell phone) versions? (the instruction booklet does state this though) I cannot even put favorites? Is there a way that I can get Flash installed or a better browser? So I can play games that are on Facebook, etc.? and view websites like a "normal" human being should be viewing them on the web?
This is what I figured out so far:
Wi-Fi
Onboard USB and Ethernet ports
An SD reader
7″ TFT display with an 800X480 resolution
2GB of internal storage
100 MHz processor
Linux with preloaded programs such as internet browser, spreadsheet, word processor, a media player for movies, music and pictures, e-book reader, dictionary, calendar, PDF reader, email, chat, calculator, file manager.
I just installed Fedora 11 on my Sony Vaio laptop. I couldn't stand Windows Vista any longer. I installed Fedora 11 just fine with no issues. But I seem to be having trouble installing programs such as Adobe Flash Player, Reader, Limewire, Java pluggin, etc. Everytime I try to install these, it says for example "Could not display "/home/blackout87gn/Download/jre-6u16-linux-i586-rpm.bin". This was for the Java file I downloaded. I made sure that all these files I downloaded were for Linux. So being the newb that I am, can someone point me in the right direction on how to install these applications? Also what does .rpm .bin .deb and .tar.gz represent?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have Mandriva 08 and I can't get a MP3 player or a Flash Drive to mount. If I manually mount the Flash drive the "Computer File" won't create a file so I can access it. I get no desktop icons and I have checked the box in "config-whatever", The Flash Drive will appear in HardDrake but the MP3 player will not. The MP3 player will appear in the "Computer File" but will not manually mount.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I install flash player from yast or from "firefox plugins search", I only install version 10.0.*.*. Now I want to install version 10.1 beta. I downloaded package "flasplayer..." from adobe flash website. Then I extract it and run:
Code:
# nspluginwrapper -v -i ./libflashplayer.so
Install plugin ./libflashplayer.so
into /usr/lib64/browser-plugins/npwrapper.libflashplayer.so
Afterward, I restart firefox and firefox requires install flashplayer . In some tutorials I see " Create symlink plugins to..." after "Install plugin ./libflashplayer.so...". In my computer I can't see this. I use opensuse 11.2 64bit. I try to install flash player 10.1 beta because I can't upload to mediafire Site. How to install 10.1 beta to solve this problem.
i am running ubuntu 10.04 i installed ubuntu restricted extras, and i went on videos. although i can view the video, i can't click on pause, the volume controls, or seek through the video, or put it into fullscreen mode. i went into the software center and searched "adobe flash player", and it came up with adobe flash plugin 10. it doesn't have an "install" button on it, so i double-clicked it, and it said " sorry, 'adobe flash plugin 10' is not available for this type of computer (amd64)."

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did install Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit at my Dell Inspiron 1721 laptop. Well I did some installations via Ubuntu software center only, and I'm not that familiar with the terminal.
Hope you guys can help me with that. The first thing I need is the Flash Player to be able to visualize videos on Firefox.
I'm not shure if there is a bug related to video in this version of Ubuntu, if so I could try another one as I'm just starting to use Linux and Ubuntu and it wouldn't be a problem to restart it all if this could solve this and future problems. I've just downloaded a preview release for Flash Player with native suport for native Linux 64-bit at Adobe. it is called "Flash Player Square" and seems to be unstable, a Beta version.
how can i install adobe in my linux.I have downloaded a tar file .
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am on Linux Mint, and I can't figure out how to install Adobe Flash Player. When I tried typing the following,
sudo apt-get Install flashplayerplugin-nonfree..It says that everything was installed, but when I go to ..... and other video sites, the flash player won't work.
Flash player won't work in my newly installed Fed 12 64.
libflashplayer.so is in /usr/lib/flash-plugin
/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins contains a symlink to the file.
I thought maybe this was a permissions thing. I changed owner to me. No good. I read some other threads about clashes 32 bit/64 bit. Is this the problem? It worked fine before I had to do a new install.
i recently install linux mint and i need to install flash player but i can't do it from from the web page.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to watch a short little clip on ..... and it said I needed flash 10 so I downloaded that and the problem is, is that when I tar the file there was only one other file in the tarball which was libflashplayer.so. Is there a way he can just double click something so is automatically installed?
