The same config is working for all clients but have problems with few machines. May be I am doing something wrong in config or testing at very basic level.
I would like to get my Huawei E169 (aka. Vodafone Mobile Connect K3520, E620 etc.) USB UMTS/3G modem running with my openSUSE 11.1 x86 installation on my MSI Wind U100. The GPRS/UMTS connection works perfectly fine with the stand-alone application Vodafone Mobile Connect for Linux. However, there's the drawback that this app overwrites /etc/resolv.conf (leads to DNS issues if I would like to connect via NetworkManager again) and doesn't disable the off-line mode for Firefox automatically. Consequently, I would like to use NetworkManager for the GPRS/UMTS connection, too.
The NetworkManager configuration dialogue (I'm using the GNOME applet) seems to recognize the plugged USB stick without any issues (I get a radio button for "Huawei E620 USB Modem" in the respective add connection wizard). So I've created the configuration for my provider and saved it. After that I've tried to connect via the applet. However, approx. 2 seconds after I selected the connection, the applet says "Network disconnected" (German: Netzwerkverbindung getrennt) and the stick also obviously doesn't get connected (visible via LED). I created several new connections with different names, replugged the stick, rebooted with and without the stick plugged, but without any success. I also installed the special RPM package which is recommended in Huawei UMTS USB Stick - openSUSE, but - of course - the corresponding 11.1 package. Can this time out of the serial command be the reason for the unsuccessful connection? And if yes, how can I force the system to wait longer here? Moreover, I'm wondering, that the GNOME NetworkManager applet doesn't allow me to enter the DNS entries for my GPRS/UMTS connection. Where can I add these entries manually or is that not needed?

How can i reset the timeout to 3 seconds? I also cannot view the ubuntu partition within windows because of ubuntu's file system.

when I do snmpget -v 1 -c public localhost system.sysObjectID.0on the same machine the snmpd is running on- I get a respond SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: ccitt.1when I send same request from another machine (using SNMPc program) - I see no reaction.I used "wireshark" to monitor packets, and I see the requests sent from the other machine. I also see them get to the first machine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have enabled SNMP monitoring in my debian box (using apt-get install snmp) and configured it to allow my PC to query the server.
I'm able to query the server and get SNMP data but when I get STG to give me a per/second graph of the interface octets, it only updates the data every 12 seconds or so.
Is this a setting in SNMP which could be causing this problem? If so, how can I enable it so that SNMP can give me up to the second octet rates.
2 machines (one of them working as a server to monitor the network with IP 192.168.100.110 and the other one to be monitored with IP address 192.168.100.1):
In the first machine:
snmpwalk -v1 localhost -c public sysName (working fine)
snmpwalk -v1 192.168.100.1 -c public sysName (don't works -> Timeout: No Response from 192.168.100.1)
In the monitored machine:
snmpwalk -v1 192.168.100.110 -c public sysName (it works)
snmpwalk -v1 localhost -c public sysName (dont works -> Timeout: No Response from localhost)
I'm trying to sniff snmp traps being sent to a NMS. I'm setting -s to 0 but when I start sniffing, some of the packets, instead of being decoded, show me messages like this:

I have an issue when sending snmp traps. I have an embedded system connected to a SNMP manager. I am sending traps from the box to the manager continuosly. After sometime I don't see any trpas coming out.

Why are some errors in the beginning of the output? How can I remove them? The file HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.txt is in /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to monitor a Centos 5.3 box using SNMP and I am having a lot of trouble getting the data that i need from it. Everytime I try to get information from the UCD-SNMP MIB it returns "End of MIB". It is my understanding that UCD-SNMP is a standard package when Net-SNMP is installed and should always be there. Then why can't I access it? I have tried removing the reinstalling Net-SNMP, but that hasn't worked. My server is update date on all it's patches as well. It is quite old hardware, but I don't believe that should affect SNMP from being gathered. Iptables is down, and I cant' even get it from the local machine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a pair of special radio-devices which support SNMP, but the problem is, that if I snmpwalk those devices, I only see few generic values(sysContact, sysDescr, sysServices etc) and nothing else. Most likely I need MIB files so NMS could know what values can be asked from the radio devices? If yes, is there a possibility to get all the OID's device supports without MIB files as those devices have been out or production for years?

Trying to adjust the conf files i get nothing than trying rrdtool but i keep having the same problems. So i was thinking to use php, i got working php snmp walk function but i am looking the way to get the bandwidth or usage of the device from snmp or any snmp function but still now i keep searching. Once done this stages i would be able to save the data into an array and the plot it into a graph and personalize the max and min values for avoiding distorted graphs.
