View 2 Replies View RelatedI attempted to install Nautilus Elementary...the results were not what I expected however. First of all, it doesn't seem to even have installed correctly, but thats not the main issue...after installing, Nautilus looks like this...

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince update to 10.10 I seriously cannot figure out how to do a normal file/folder search. When I search a file it only shows the last day, month, etc of Zeitgeist.
Not only that but I cannot narrow a search down to a specific folder. I go to Pictures folder, hit Ctrl+F, search term = ground, it no longer just searches the Pictures folder, and I'm looking at 0 results when there is a file named ground.jpg in my Pictures folder..

I still not get nautilus-elementary. I still get nautilus. I get this after I do a 'About' in Nautilus 2.32.2.1. I should get something like 'Nautilus-Elementary or something' right?
I got a big? issue with Nautilus in Ubuntu 11.04.
Here i copy the the terminal messages when i log as a root user code...
When i clic on the trash, the app crashes and closes. When I try to move some protected files to the trash -wich i can't delete without login in terminal as root user-, the app crashes again.
How can i fix this? I installed -I'm new in Ubuntu, but i love it- the Nautilus Elementary 2.32.2 as i saw in those classics "10 things to do after installing Ubuntu Natty...".
There's an Ubuntu variant of Nautilus called Elementary Nautilus which aims for a tighter and sleeker Nautilus as opposed to the stock GNOME one.The modified one is really good, sleek and has RGBA (transparency support) through Metacity compositing enabled.I've created a set of RPMs and they should be building on OBS anytime now. Wanted to get the community's opinion on this modified nautilus build. Screenshots follow...

adding the ppa in terminal works as does it in synaptics package manager. when i do update in terminal it seems to update A LOT of things and it takes quite long. when looking in synaptics package manager for nautilus-elementary it finds nothing! all i could think about is that it could have to do with the fact that i upgraded the kernel to 2.6.34. but can it really be the reason?
I have Nautilus Elementary (nautilus 1:2.31.1-0ubuntu1~ppa91) [URL]... The problem I'm having today is that the breadcrums path bar has completely gone. The pathbar tweak is activated and was working ok, but nothing is displayed.

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 and decided to install nautilus-elementary using the following:sudo add-apt-repository ppa:am-monkeyd/nautilus-elementary-ppaudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgradenautilus -qHowever once I ran 'nautilus -q' the terminal stayed hanging so I pressed Ctrl+C. Nautilus would not start up so I removed the repositories and reinstalled Nautilus.Has anyone else had this problem?

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install gloobus-preview && sudo apt-get upgrade
nautilus -q
The built in terminal & gloobus preview work fine but pressing F4 for clutterview just shows a grey area at the top of the screen. After some searching I did this:

I installed it and press F4 and nothing happens.

Every time I run sudo apt-get update in the terminal, I get an error that the PPA for Nautilus Elementary is not found. Is this just because of heavy traffic today or is it down? I can't find anything online saying it's down, but I just did a fresh install of 10.10 after 11.04 jacked my system, and I would really like to get Nautilus Elementary installed. What's the story?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI try to use equinox revolution light them with nautilus elementary but I notice the context menu is not correct (right click menu). There should be a drop down shadow on the context menu but mine seem not having that. If I use with default nautilus, it was ok. Please see the screen shot attached. The context menu has no drop shadow and very difficult to notice it's window pop up from the background. I also attached another screenshot to show the drop shadow i am talking about.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running Ubuntu 10.04 and a small Windows 7 partition (cuz I can't get Ubuntu to run my MSI TV@nywhere plus card but that's another issue).I can log into Windows fine. If I choose Ubuntu, however, the boot process will go thru a few screen flickers. Then one of two things happens:1) I get a scrambled up pixelated image (not sure what it is) for about 3 second, then it goes into the login screen and I can log in normally.2) I get the scrambled up pixelated image and it hangs. This happens about 4 times out of 5 when rebooting.
I do have an nVidia card and a beta driver (they published it the 21st, I believe, of this month) but this happened long before that. It's happened ever since I installed any of the drivers (I've tried a couple different versions, hoping to fix this) for my card.
My system is a frankenputer:
Phenom II quad core 3.0 cpu
nVidia GeForce BFG 6600
4G DDR3
500G drive
Note: I do have 3D rendering when I finally get into the desktop. Everything works great, except that when I'm playing my mmorpg, Regnum Online, it freezes the entire computer and I have to reboot (not sure if that has anything to do with it or not).In case it's needed, this is my grub:(Second note: I'm sorry for the length of the post but I don't know how to upload documents/files to show)

So I turned off my computer the other day (I leave my laptop on, pretty much 24/7 I only turn it off if I have to, or I forget to plug it in I turned it off this time just because it was feeling warm)...
And when I went to turn it back on, the splash screen was big and ugly looking, then the orange ("loading") dots loaded to the end... but then it just stopped.
My computer wouldn't boot up... so then I used one of the older versions (you know grub lets you select versions before upgrades or whatever)... and the boot splash was the nice small version... and it loaded just fine, but then after the splash screen went away... the monitor just stayed black... same thing with the version before that.
So then I tried recovery mode on the first one (the latest), and when I clicked "boot normally" it took me to shell. However, everything was working fine, I could load up my non-x dependent programs like IRSSI just fine.
I think it has something to do with me installing the ATI proprietary driver (which was stupid of me, Ubuntu was handling my graphics card perfectly without it... and I hate using closed sourced software).
I try to boot the live CD and try xubuntu without installing, and my computer just hangs at a black screen, cuts off, then goes black and repeats. I also tried just installing with nomodeset enabled and it seemed to install fine, but it did the same thing as it does with the live cd, GRUB wouldn't even load... the computers specs [URL]
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running an LMDE install, but with the Sid repositories.Everything has been fine until yesterday's updates, after which I can't boot normally. The boot hangs at the login screen, and nothing works - not the mouse, the keyboard, the touchpad, nothing, and it requires holding the power switch to get out. I can boot to a root recovery console, but networking doesn't work at all there. I can run startx there and get an X desktop as root, and networking still doesn't work. No wireless, no ethernet, no nothing. From the recovery console I can run shutdown, and when prompted for a password, can enter Ctrl-D, which immediately drops me back to X, to the normal login screen, which now works normally, and I get a normal X session in which everything works. This is the same for all installed kernels, including 3 versions of the Liquorix kernel and the standard Squeeze kernel. It would appear to be something in my settings in /home, but I can't find anything that looks suspicious. I ran smxi again after booting through the root console, without any improvement.
