View 1 RepliesNautilis is very good at hiding or showing 'hidden' files and folders (names starting with .) but using any other program to save or open a file, I have to scroll through reams of hidden to my storage folders. Is there a way to make the save and open dialogs 'hide' the 'hidden' files? Is it different for different programs?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Code:Blocks (8.02 from ubuntu software center) and try to run sample program (at first I tried some program related to OpenCV and configure the project for it).
The Build went OK but I cant Run the program. So I tried the simplest progrma of hello World and still I get the same error even on a clean new project.
The Error: "error while loading shared libraries: cv.so can not open shared object file : No such file or directory"
I'd been using Code::Block IDE for quite a while, but now it won't open. When I try to run it, it says in the panel "Starting Code::Blocks IDE", but no window opens and it disappears from the panel a few seconds later. I've tried reinstalling a few times with no luck.

Here is what I did so far :

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created an application that has a executable program that loads in a shared object
the shared object loads in another shared object
both of these shared object I have created
For debugging I have been printf'in data to determine what is going on
I now have some odd memory issue, and need a bit more control over debugging...
I have one workspace set up and under my exectuable(will call maintest from now on) I have two items in my link libraries under project build options being soA and soB (so A is the shared object that maintest uses, soB is the SO that soA uses) I also have linker options pthread and ldl
At the beginning of my maintest I do my dlsym and load in each function that I will be using
I always run my program using maintest, because when I have one of the SO as the startup project(turns bold) and try to run it gives me "You must select a host application to run a library"
I tried to set up this host library, i Go to Menu->Project->SetProgramArguments and change the Host Application to the debug version of my maintest
I then hit OK and try to run again but I get the same error: "You must select a host application to run a library"
If I get this part working - which I need help doing, is tehre other steps that need to be taken to debug the so's? or will this make it so when i hit f8 it will run.
I couldn't find a Code::Blocks download for openSUSE 64 bit on their site, does it exist or should I just go with another C++ compiler?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am writing a C program which is contains Mysql header files and APIs but it can not compile it and its error is : Quote: undefined reference to
to all of Mysql APIs that I included their headers .In command line I compile my source like this with no problem: Quote: gcc test.c -Wall -o test -lz `mysql_config --cflags --include --libs`
I think code block does not have bold italic part of this command. How can I add this to code block to compile my project or those project that contains Mysql APIs (just my project not all of defined projects that has no relation to mysql APIs)with this gcc flags.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI like my bottom panel to auto hide. I have this setup on 2 computers. On one computer, it's much faster with hiding/showing than the other computer.Could it be a performance thing that effects it? mean, the one that's quicker is a quad core with 4gb of ram, whereas the one that's slower is a pentium 4 with 1gb of ram.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to 11.04 and I've been tweaking Unity to get the desktop just the way I like it. I've come across two minor problems though:
1. When I tweak the icon size settings in the Unity tab of CCSM, the icons do not change size; they remain at the default "48" setting regardless of what I type in.
2. When I set the Unity launcher to auto-hide (also in the Unity tab of CCSM), it stays at the default "dodge windows" setting.
Are there any workarounds to change these settings when tweaking them in CCSM's interface does not work? (Or is there some trick I don't know to get CCSM to work properly?)
Is there a way to move the side and or top task bars as well as change there properties (auto hide). I know how to add programs to the side bar but can't figure out how to change the top bar menus. When I ran 32bit thru a windows vm I had a top bar where I could access the programs and no side bar. I liked it better than the 2 bar setup in my 64bit wubi install. Can it be changed?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have the panel (taskbar) positioned on top. I then turned on "auto hide" in the panel properties (Gnome) to maximize the screen. The panel surely disappeared. The problem is that I cannot get it back no matter how much I hoover or click with the mouse - it is gone!...So how do I get it back??? I am rather new to Linux, but I figure that there should be a config file somewhere where I can set "auto hide" to false or something like this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo about an hour ago I put my computer on standby. For whatever reason I couldn't bring it back so I restarted it. It works fine except now Ubuntu has pushed my display down. This means that the bottom of my tool-bar on the bottom of the screen is cut off, and there's a black bar on the top. I'm using a T.V. screen so there is no way I can manually adjust it. I also plugged my desktop back into an old monitor and it was off-center downward too.
