I have an issue where chromium is not displaying facebook properly. Here's a screenshot:
I would switch to the stable release but the stable release of chrome has a bug whereby the search bar keeps reseting its default search engine (wiping out all the info leaving the search bar un-usable) when google chrome stable is re-started.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverywhere but the actual webpage is transparent in the firefox window. I can't really see the main toolbar with file, edit, tools, etc. It crashes when I try to click add-ons in the tools drop down menu. It also makes my computer run slower and freeze up. Thinking it could be a bug from a recent update not sure because I think it started after tabking or another add-on was updating. I'm using firefox through wine right now. Using Ubuntu 9.10.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am running Centos 5.5 X86_64 and recently after updating my server, I am having problem loading gnome. When the server boots, and begins to bring up the login screen theme, I get an error that states "Could not recognize the image file format for /usr/share/gdm/themes/TreeFlower/background.png" I am able to login after clicking ok to this message, and using the "simplistic" login manager. But when the users desktop loads, there are several errors pertaining to "unsupported image format" and none of the icons are displaying correctly. They are just the default "curvy page" icon for an unassociated file type. Some of the icons do not even show up at all.
Another thing I noticed wierd is that when I try to view a png, nothing happens. When I try to open one using gimp, I get an "unsupported file type" error. When I tried to click on the "add/remove software" button I get prompted for root pass, but nothing happens. So, I tried launching pirut from CLI, and I received the following error:

So far, as a former Chrome user on Windows, I am enjoying Chromium. However, there is one glaring problem that is bugging me, and is disrupting my usage of the browser.
Chromium will not show Japanese fonts properly. It's not that everything shows up as boxes. The problem is that certain characters will show in Japanese, and certain will show in Korean, thereby making the Japanese text unreadable. Copying and pasting into gedit allows me to read the Japanese text, and Firefox never had this problem, however, within Chromium, this is unreadable.

Has anyone else had this problem, and fixed it? I have installed the language packs and have tried setting things to different unicode fonts and changing the encoding to unicode and even Japanese, and continue to get these errors.
getting the icedtea java plugin to work properly on Chromium. When I go to http://www.funorb.com/ and go to Arcanists, I usually get to the login screen, and sometimes I'm even able to login, but right after that, it crashes with an error message (Something like Icedtea plugin crashed unexpectedly).

Well, I don't know if this is related to that, but yesterday I noticed on another site that my Iceweasel 4.01 is not displaying portions of pages properly. See attached images. Both Chrome & Opera display that page correctly, I've included a screenshot of the same page with Chrome. I have JAVA installed and everything works perfectly fine accross the board on all browsers, except for this "once in a while" issue with Iceweasel. I've noticed this "missing content oddity" on three sites so far (out of 50 or more). No problem with eBay, craigslist, paypal, and other major players.
Open the images with a new tab, then compare both images side by side for best results.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI often use the option in Chromium to create 'application shortcuts'. These are instances of Chromium that make a website look more like an app by not including most of Chromium's toolbars. I use it for gmail and google docs and spreadsheets and calendar. In 11.04 I have set up Desktop launchers and copied them across to the Launcher (what an odd way to add something to the launcher, why no right-click 'add launcher' option?)
The problem is that the launcher thinks all these apps are chromium (which they are really, but I would like them to be seen as separate apps). If I minimize my gmail window, a little triangle appears next to the chromium icon, not the gmail icon. To get the window back, I have to click on the Chromium icon. Clicking on the gmail icon launches a new instance of it (also tied to the Chromium icon).
if i run chromium with --enable-gpu-rendering flag chromium's display looks like it's shattered into thousands of pieces and I can't understand a thing. This doesn't happens if I have a previous instance of chromium opened in the usual way, without any flag. In this case if I open another chromium window with the --enable-gpu-rendering flag it's display looks ok, but I can't figure out what's the problem and how could this be fixed if there's solution for it of course.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a shortcut with chromium browser to listen.grooveshark.com. This is great as it's almost like the grooveshark VIP desktop application like this. However AWN dock groups it with other chromium windows like this:Kuvakaappaus.jpg
Is it possible to force AWN to group this specific chromium window under the Grooveshark launcher that I have in the dock? Turning off grouping does not solve this either, as it just shows grooveshark as another chromium window.
How can I set up multipath to two devices properly? I'm sure that I need to do something more then just: /etc/init.d/multipathd start
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't add my facebook account to gwibber. Here is what i do:Click on envelope in the top panel. Click Broadcast.In Broadcast Accounts click dropdown and select Facebook. Then click Add.I then click Authorise. A blue facebook login page appears. I click on the small link at the bottom that says Log in with Facebook.Type in my credentials and click Connect. Wait a long time then goes back to Authorise window. With the words Facebook authorised.I click on Add and nothing happens. I did try to start using this on Alpha 2 but gave up but now I've done a full reinstall using RC version.

I have my gmail contacts in a group, and my aim buddies in a group, allowing them to be minimized, but i cannot get my facebook friends to go into a facebook group for some reason. I can right click the friend, and create a new group called "Facebook", but the friend will not move to the group when i hit close.

If I have to rate Lucid on its OOB Factor (Out Of Box), I would rate it 9.7/10.I have an AMD based laptop with ATI graphics chipset and this used to be a major headache (ATI's fault ofcourse) previously and I was gearing up for another hour or so of installing the video drivers from ATI and getting it to work.But,suprisingly it just worked out of the box with visual effects enabled. Every component on my machine worked as it ought to be.
I cant say enough about the interface overhaul. Its like a F16 got upgraded with some slick Alien technology. Ubuntu 10.04 is surely a GOLD standard for all Linux Distros out there. Coming to this minor issue, I am unable to add the facebook account in Me Menu via gwibber. It takes the login credentials and prompts me to allow or deny publishing to facebook. Clicking on allow doesn't do anything, it just sits there.
I am trying to connect to facebook chat using Empathy 2.30.0.1, but it wont connect I double checked the user name and password and the are correct.

All of a sudden, when updating my status on Facebook, and I click send, gwibber appears to work for a while, and then just nothing happens. My status does not get updated. It works fine with Twitter. It's only facebook. I have checked my application settings in Facebook and gwibber has full permission to post.#
I tried setting up the account again in gwibber, but this just opened a can of worms, because I had to reinstall gwibber and delete all of the config files in order to reinstate my facebook account, (see URL...)due to a bug in gwibber, which was a pain.
Basically using Chrome on my Ubuntu 10.0.4 I am having trouble playing games such as Bejeweled and Farmville on Facebook. They load, but very slowly, and the reaction time is dreadful (I make a move, 5+ seconds later it happens).

Today I tried to upload some pictures on Facebook (like I use to) and after choosing them it gets stuck, the browser works, but the pictures don't get uploaded. I tried different browsers and the results were the same. My java package seems to be up-to-date as well as my browser (Chrome). I don't really know what is going wrong.
