May 11, 2010Does anyone knows anyway to integrate Sunbird with Ubuntu 10.04? i'm not looking for integration of Sunbird with Thunderbird. that's accomplished with Lightning... What i for is something like an alert when i have an event or even integration with the time/calendar Ubuntu standard application.
other thing is: I installed Sunbird well not realy it's a standalone How can i add it the lists of known applications? like when i type Firefox in terminal Firefox pops up.

Oct 20, 2010I have machine that I used to VNC to on my network with Remote Desktop Viewer from my Fedora 12. When I first connected I checked the checkbox that I wanted to store the pw. Now the pw on the other machine has changed but Remote Desktop Viewer does not ask for a new password, it just gives me a black screen, like I am connected but I can't see anything. I'd like to know if anyone knows where this pw data is stored on the system so I can start fresh. I already tried uninstalling Remote Desktop Viewer and installing it again.

Jan 23, 2010I just finished a few updates this evening (Friday Jan. 22, 2010). Attempting to launch Sunbird from the menu after the updates finished brought nothing. From the command line:

Cannot find Calender runtime directory. Exiting.
Great, just great.
If you also experience this same scenario, there is a quick fix. As root, load /usr/bin/sunbird into a text editor of your choice. Edit the line:
moz_libdir=/usr/lib/sunbird-1.0b2pre
to read:
moz_libdir=/usr/lib/sunbird-1.0pre
I suppose that would be /usr/lib64/ if you're using 64 bit OS.
Whether this was a glitch in the delta rpm rebuild (yum presto) that only might have effected me, or a packaging snafu that's going to catch everyone, I don't know at this time.

I already tried without burnfree but that didn't help either. Anyone know what the problem might be. It might be that the cdwriter is defective as I never tried it before (pretty new Dell workstation) but somehow I don't think so.

Apr 11, 2011I am quite interested in one thing. I am trying to code my dns server that when I connect to one of my subdomains it connects not only to an ip address but to an ip : port address. For this I tried using SRV record, but with lack of success.
Dns server specification:
OS Ubuntu server 10.10 and using bind9
I have configured everything so that my subdomains work on an ip address, but I need some of them to work on ip : port too. In my brfconcept.lv.db file i used: (what I mentioned below isn't the full content of the file)

Networking :: How Many MX Records Are Allowed
May 25, 2010I have a sitution that I am trying to set up.
I have 2 email servers that run on Windows: one is for internal purposes, the other is external purposes.
The external one will receive e-mail from the outside world, clean it up and forward it to the internal one.
There are 2 Windows Vista machines and 2 Unix (OpenSuse Linux) machines.
Since there can be only 1 email server per domain, I thought I would:
-> set up a local domain with ALL of the machines in it
-> set up a DNS server for the local domain
-> set up a MX record in the DNS server for the email
For the external machine, just have a Dynamic IP point to the Windows machine holding the external email server.
Does this sound plausible? Does this make sense?

Server :: Migrate DNS Records From Old To New?
Nov 3, 2009Our hardware that is running DNS is very old (Pentium 1 Redhat release 6.2), and I want to migrate the DNS Records to a new computer (Pentium 4 Debian Lenny). There is no GUI environment on the old server: no Gnome or KDE. I may consider using VMware Workstation for this project.
1. I don't have very much DNS experience. Is this a painless process?
2. Are there commands that I can run to export the DNS records from the old server?
3. Are there commands that I can run to import the DNS records to the new server?
4. What other advice do you have that could help this process?

Nov 7, 2010i am write in the forum because i am a bit of resignated. i tried almost all distries and just suse i can install on my notebook without any problems. actually the install works on all other linux deviantes too but the boot records arent written - except for opensuse - but i dont like opensuse. ubuntu is the system which i have choosen and makes a very handsome impression to me. but back to the main problem my notebook is a sony vaio with 4x64 GB SSD cards. 2 ssd's - raid 1 with windows 7 and the other 2 ssd's (volume1) should be ubuntu. the devs are in /dev/mapper/isw_bic_fifbgib_Volume12 till volume 17
i tried to install the boot files to mbr, on volume1, volume2 to the /boot, to a sd card, to a memory stick but ubuntu wont boot from SSD. i just can boot with cd but its not a option for me.

Sep 2, 2010I'm using Net::Bluetooth to create an RFCOMM socket on my Linux box. I need for it to register with SDP with a specific UUID. The perl code can be viewed in this link. I am unable to make the connection from a remote device however. This remote device (my Android phone) is able to connect to other RFCOMM devices using this UUID. I would like to troubleshoot the problem, but I can't find a way to browse the LOCAL SDP records of my PC where the Perl script is running (and waiting for incoming BT connections). how to browse the SDP records on the local PC?

General :: Awstat Is Dropping All Records?
Mar 10, 2011I am using awstat for a website. It's working fine. On the webserver I made a new virtual host for the same website with some addition in URL. I made a separate log file for this URL and tried to process it also in awstat but for it's log file awstat is dropping all records.
On webserver log format is same for both logs files. On awstat the config file is same for both logs except the log path line of course .Why awstat isn't able to process the same log format with the same config file what is working for the previous logs

Nov 19, 2008I am using SQLite as my database for some portable cross platform applications I am working on with REALBasic as my IDE. I have an old Sybase 8.0 database that I can access via Microsoft Access and thereby extract the data I need from each table.
Now I know I can create .csv files from each table and load them into SQLite using the import tool, but then I can't define the primary key and other field attributes. So the other option is to load each file via SQL.
Now with most SQL editors I can create multiple queries and they will run just fine. But I can't seem to do that with the SQLite interfaces. I can paste multiple queries but I can only run one at a time. And by that I mean I have to click run.
Ummm that's not acceptable since my biggest table contains over 600,000 records. I have the queries all written, that was easy using a simple interface I wrote in Access.

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong with my BIND zone file? I wonder if it might have something to do with the fact that my IP is currently on a policy Block List?

Nov 17, 2010I have to parse a file containing billions of records and populate them in the Data structure. I have used a lot of C++ class and creating objects of the class I am storing the information retrieved by parsing the file.
Now as the file become huge and number of objects become very large my code is getting bad_alloc error as it is not finding any space avalable in the heap for allocating new object.
Is there any way to parse the file?

Debian Hardware :: Sound Card / Mic Records - Squeeze
May 9, 2011I ,unlike some others, have sound. Videos and music (..... ,online adds ect) work fine as do cd's in the cd rom. My mic on the other hand sounds like a cat being killed while someone is blowing on the mic while scratching fingernails on cut glass!! sense i have good sound i can assume the sound card is ok, but im at a loss as to why the mic records so badly. its a built in mic on my toshiba laptop (two months old). sound was great from it on windows 7 so must be a driver?

Is it possible to truncate them and wipe out the oldest records in them? Of course I could just wipe them completely, but that's not my goal - I just want to minimize the size of those files while keeping the newest records.
