The Time and Date at the top docking bar is Hanged. It shows Mon, Oct 18, 6:35 PM. That's all. But when I click on it, it shows correct date in Calender. And correct time in the bottom. I believe those gadgets are not updating at all. Cause my Battery indicator is also not working.
View 2 RepliesIn my top right corner I got all my Ubuntu appindicators that come with Ubuntu 11.04. I also have Dropbox, caffeine and screenlets. Problem is that I cant click on dropbox, caffeine, battery indicator, wlan or sound indicator until I first click on messages menu and slide over to appindicator that I need. When screenlets appindicator is not present there is no problem. Its the same when I had Jupiter installed.

But, i have one issue with my logitech pro 9000 webcam and skype which I am unable to solve on my own. the webcam works fine when I test in the settings of skype. Also every blue moon it works fine during a video call as well. But most of the time, when I start a video call, it gets stuck, the circular led light on it is on (showing that it is recording video), its microphone turns off and skype gets stuck also. I have a completely updated system, latest skype.

The battery icon doesn't show up in the indicator area next to the sound volume when I'm unplugged unless I select to have the icon displayed even when my computer is plugged in. And even then, it doesn't show current battery charge.I have added pmu_battery to /etc/modules , and /proc/pmu/battery_0 has relevant information on battery charge, and emacs seems smart enough to know my battery level.I tried to install pmud, and but that conflicts with pbbuttonsd and removing that would remove ubuntu-desktop! :O (I would like to try pmud and pommed, as those seem to have a better feature set than pbbuttonsd.)

I added battery monitor (right clicking panel - add new item - battery monitor), same behavior. I already googled, no solution yet.

The question is simple really, I've added a local universality's time server (what is public) and it's live. but it's added to the end of the default time servers what come with fedora. How do I get fedora to just use the local time server, is it a case of removing the default time servers for fedora, but there is a box what says advanced options which are. sync system clock before starting service ???? & use Local time source (( is that the same as the local ntp server that I've got set up ))Hope some body can help me with the network time protocol part of Date/Time settings.

I feel little silly asking this, I accidently removed from my gnome panel my internet connection, volume control and battery indicator on F11. how can I add this back. It does not show up in the add to panel menu and the applications do not give you back the default feel.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I boot without the AC cable plugged in the Power Applet says I am on AC power (but the notebook is of course running on battery power). Which is bad because I don't know how much battery time still remains. Strangely, when I boot on AC Power and then remove the AC cable both the fact that battery power is used and the remaining battery time is shown correctly. Also when I boot into battery power and then plug in the AC cable it correctly shows that the battery is charging and how long it takes until fully charged. I use Ubuntu 10.10, 32bit on an Acer Aspire One 751 if that helps. The problem has also existed in Ubuntu 10.04 and I hoped the update would solve it but it did not.

I have an Asus EEE PC900. Just installed 10.04 netbook remix and everything works fine straight out of the box. it works great and is a vast improvement on windows xp which was previously installed on the asus. Just one small thing - the battery meter is never accurate as far as time remaining goes - it currently says i have 19 hours 55 minutes to go - unfortunately this is not quite true i suspect. It was the same with 9.10, Does anyone have a solution for this?

2.3. To Adjust the System Date or Time.
To adjust the system date or time that the Clock applet displays, perform the following steps:
1. Right-click on the applet, then choose Adjust Date & Time.
2. Type the root password, then click OK.
3. The Clock applet starts the system tool that sets the system date and time. Use the tool to adjust the date and time.
The actual way to do this is as follows:
Right-click on the date and time applet. select preferences, and down at the bottom of the window that opens push the 'time settings' button.
Then you will be able to adjust that date and time.
I've noticed that every time this desktop is turned on the date & time are as they were the last time I used it, and then have to put in the correct date & time again (this is why I chose the word 'persistent' within the tittle). When I try to change those have to write in the password for the date as well as for the time as if 'login-in' once were not enough! What I want to know is how to put in the date & time and receive the correct amounts the next time I turn the unit on again, as it should be? Do I've to open a terminal & do it with administrator's authority/credentials?
