I downloaded template for cacti to make graphs from eth interface.is imported and showed in graph templates, but when I choose to creat new graph, it is not there.
View 2 RepliesI need a script that takes data fom a file mydata.dat and create a graph. the content of mydata.dat is Bin Data1 Data2 Data3
Then it asks from the user to select which colums with use for x and which for y. the x and y titles must be generated automaticly by the names of each column from the first line of mydata.dat the limits must also be auto generated by the width of the column (for example for data2 is 12-45). in the end for graph title must shown the current time and date in this format:
So it asks for the user the columns and in the end it shows the graph with the above settings.
I guess with major changes to syslog-ng, php-syslog going to licensing cost, and major overhaul to the syslog plugin with cacti - alot of documention was either disjointed, outdated or I just couldn't find it.this was performed on an 11.04 Ubuntu Server tall. I already had Cacti up and running and just needed to make it also a syslog collector.This guide assumes you already have mysql running, and cacti is already in place. If something looks wrong - please correct me. Stop syslog-ng if you want. Changes should not take effect until you restart it.Should save the default syslog-ng configuration if you want to be safe. Below is the absolute minimum you need to get this working.Configuration on ubuntu is location in /etc/syslog/syslog-ng.conf Also make sure you fill in the proper username and password for mysql.

in order to visualize the mentor-student relations inside my fraternity, I'd like to create a genealogy graph from a Excel spreadsheet. This works way better than expected, but there is one final issue. To demonstrate, this is a smaller version of the graph:

It is ordered by year , while members are placed in the appropriate timeslot and are connected to show said relations. Unfortunately, as you can see, during a few years when the choosing of mentors was partly suspended due to historical reasons (WWII etc.), the members stack up to the right of the graph, widening it a lot. Is there a way to specify that they are supposed to be distributed among the members that are part of the structure in order to achieve minimum width?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest 10.04.1 server minimal install and enabled the virtualisation option. I compiled enough X so that I could run virt-manager and I was able to create a couple of VMs and run them and manage them, but the problem is that in the graphs in manager, I can only get CPU usage, not Disk or Network IO. The options are greyed out. Am I missing something required for these graphs to work ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed Cacti 0.87e in fedora 11. And it is working fine. But as per our organizational requirement, they want report as pdf format. I have installed nmidcreate pdf also for the same. It generates the report in pdf format but the content of the pdf is blank i.e. it does not contain any graph or value in the report. It shows only header and footer information, nothing more than that. Kindly resolve this issue, either using the above mentioned plugin or other else. Because this is an urgent requirement. I am waiting for your affirmative response.

I am using CentOS 5.4 and did a yum install of cacti. I installed all the necessay packages, like net-snmp, php net snmp and all that. Everything else works but I can't for the life figure out how to monitor traffic on eth0. I do not have any SNMP Interface Statistics or alike in either the Associated Graph Templates or Associated Data Queries.

Its been great but after a recent server crash I decided to switch to apt-cacher-ng due to reports of lower memory footprint and faster response. Thats all well and good and after just a little mucking around it seems to be working.
But there are a few old (but still current) debs that I am having trouble importing into the apt-cacher-ng cache. Most of them were picked up after adding all the repos to my client and running apt-get update. But there are still a few that aren't.(the 2 biggest ones are from the same repo).My client machine runs apt-get update without fault but when I import (using the apt-cacher-ng web interface) it lists all the repos (including the one these debs should be in) but isn't importing any more of the debs. There are no errors showing.
I am trying to install CACTI in Centos5.3. Now I am facing two problem. My DAG repository is not working and thats why i am not able to use YUM for CACTI....So i downloaded the cacti-0.8.7e.tar.gz and using this software according to following links

EasyTag will not recognise mp3 files imported from an iPod via Rhythmbox.I get an error message - " there are no files in this directory or subdirectories".Easytag will however recognise mp3s ripped from a CD on the machine.I believe I have changed permissions/ownership of the files to the username.Using Maverick 10.10
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just migrate from UBUNTU to Fedora 11. Tried to install cacti by 'yum install cacti' everything presumably went correctly. But when trying to get cacti running on a browser it's showing:

FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'
Checked everything else including installing new mysqld-server (using yum install) and still not working.
Trying the installation steps from [URL], but could not find where mysql was installed. Mysqld should already be running, cos I can see it using webmin-server-mysql. Did a test as shown on [URL], everything seems ok. No major problem when using UBUNTU with apt-get install.
I recently made the switch from windows and mac system to fedora 13 64 bit kde, which has been a challenging 6 months, not having a IT background. Anyway, overall now that I am getting the hang of it I really like fedora 13 kde, nice job guys. I have one final obstacle remaining that I have not been able to figure out. I have the necessary rpms for video and sound. I am able to successfully copy video from DVD's and play them from hard drive without issue using VLC. However, when I try to import avi files from my camera's sd memory card, the videos always end up "corrupted" and when repaired do not play sound. Again, I can play AVI's from dvd's fine. Interestingly, I can take the same files from my fedora box and copy them onto a usb stick and transfer them into my mac and they play fine.
I suspect there is a codec issue possibly with VLC, but not sure. I also tried on the default player, but cannot remember the name of that right now and my wife is presently watching her Mary Kay dvd on it as it is hooked up to our TV . My video codec knowledge is pretty basic. Can someone point me in the right direction of what the problem might actually be, another post, something?
I just reinstalled my Firefox after a extension problem. Now it will not open my bookmark file I exported before the reinstall. It just goes to the folder above it, which is Ubuntu One. When I go back and try again, it freezes and makes it that I have to close the window and pull it back up again. How can I do this without issues?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am going through the motions of migrating from Rhythmbox to Banshee so that I can field questions about the process as Banshee takes over for Rhythmbox in Ubuntu. I have solved a silly issue about importing playlists (they must be imported from /home/username/ or you must alter the paths in each entry). But there is another issue which I am at a loss to explain.
My playlists are like mixed tapes. They are in a specific order. When I import a playlist into Banshee that order is not preserved. I have checked the files and they are definitely ordered and numbered in the playlists just as they are in Rhythmbox, but Banshee refuses to import them with the order respected regardless of the smallness of the list.
What's going on and how can I correct this?
I'd rather not have to reconstruct all of these playlists.
Banshee is, at seemingly random intervals, emptying any playlist I have imported (as .pls generated by Rhythmbox). The playlists I build in Banshee directly are not suffering this emptying problem. (There is one imported playlist, of some 30+, which has not yet emptied but I see nothing special about it.)

Am supposed to hand my lord and master an ubuntu laptop tomorrow morning with a presentation on it that includes two short movie clips. Impress will import the movies, they play in the edit mode but when I actually show the presentation in full screen mode the video doesn't start, it just sits on the first frame and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it play rather than switch to the next slide.

We have a web server running apache and a custom web app that we log into from a web browser and it ask you to except the certificate and all is well. I now have an user who is using a window server 2008 and he wants to manually import the *.cer file into his browser to be able to login. My question are:
1 - What is the file that is being imported into the browser? *.pem *.crt
2 - I see on our server that we have our certs I believe located in the /etc/pki/tls/certs. The openRADIUS servers that I have created, this is the directory to where it is stored.Is this the typical placement for certs.
3 -If the files is a .cert or *.pem than could I use openssl to convert them to the appropiate *.cer file for IE7

I've imported my contacts in adressbook and I can see them in Kontact - Adresses. But when I compose a new mail, I can't select any of my contacts. There is a combobox to select between following choices:

Default Adress book
Distribution list
recent adresses
Selected adresses
But none of these options shows the contacts I have imported. And I can't find an option to make my imported adress book the default adress book.
