View 9 Replies View RelatedHow do i fullscreen wow across two monitors in ubuntu? I am running ubuntu 10.04 with two 1024x768 lcd monitors running from a Nvidia 9800gt graphics card running in twinview. I ant to maximixe WoW(World of Warcraft)(running under wine) as fullscreen across both screens. The WoW client recognizes a resolution option of 2048x768, but when i apply it, it squeezes it onto one monitor. how to fullscreen across both?
And i have removed the touching sides of the monitor cases so the screens touch directly so it is feasible to play.
also, i am using the latest nvidia drivers
I have been running into trouble with SDL programming. When my program hangs in fullscreen mode I can't find any way to get back to xwindows. Several times I have had to shut off my computer and restart. Is there some way to minimize or window a fullscreen application? I am using Ubuntu 9.10.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have found on two computers that in AisleRiot, if you remove the status bar and menu bar, and go to full screen, there is no way back. Every time the program starts it is full screen, and even if you can get to the "Leave fullscreen" button, it still reverts to full screen almost immediately.I have tried deleting all the aisleriot folders under .gconf/ but it still behaves in the same way.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy does flash perform so badly in fullscreen mode but not when out of it? [URL]... that is a 1080p flash video that runs completely smoothly for me when not in fullscreen mode, but after entering it the frame rate drops significantly. Am I the only one affected by this? Is there a way to fix this?
My computer is 64 bit and is running flash 10.42
1. while playing any video file in VLC or any other player, i try to fullscreen or back to normal then the VLC just stopped for 5-7 seconds, video is running but in the screen it does not show running just sound comes.
2. while i open firefox or maximize it from clicking on taskbar, it take time similar thing the nautilus do when its going to maximize.
i don't know what the problem is, sometimes i feel it is because of compiz and emerald effact, but when i was ubuntu8.10 user, there was not such problem, it runs smooth.
I am not able to click CTRL+ALT+Left/Right when I'm playing games in full-screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAny 1 who uses Linux knows that one problem with many distros (if not all) can't play flash videos fullscreen and change volume at the same time. Very very very very annoying.
But I think I might have come across a fix possibly probably not but who knows!!!
Here is the story. I was on my windows partition playing some games, but i also wanted to watch hulu on my second screen. To my amazement flash would exit full screen (on second screen) when it became out of focus because of a click on my main screen. so i did a search on the web and they have a flash hack that keeps it from exiting when it loses main focus. This is what we need!! can some1 with slightly more hacking know-how then me make this hack work for us over on linux?
here is the link

When I run apps like ZSNES or XBMC in fullscreen their output is clipped at the bottom. It's like their output is shifted down about 20%.Here are some screenshots of the two appsI'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64bit with an Intel card. I get the same behavior with desktop effects on and off.uname -a Linux fry 2.6.35-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 21 17:40:44 UTC 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linuxy video is output to my TV via a VGA cable. nless one of these apps is running in full screen, everything is fine. In fact, I can even run VLC or Movie Player in full screen with no problems.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI run Ubuntu 10.10 netbook edition. Whenever I start Firefox, the window is displayed in fullscreen without the usual controls (close, maximize and minimize). It even covers up the application bar on the left. As far as I can see, this issue only occurs with firefox. Other apps are not affected.
View 1 Replies View Relatedll the time for me and when they do, I can't do anything. The typical case for me:Trying to run something, application hangs. The screen is either black or an image of the previous used app (aka not responding). This is when i try all sorts of key-combinations to get out of it to either get to a console or some other way to shut the crashed application down, but since the application is crashed and all the keys are overrided (either that or not responding), I cant do anything.Things I've tried pressing:
ctrl+alt+delete (you never know if something useful will happend (: )
ctrl+alt+f1 (I actually thought this would work, but no)
alt+tab (this was my second hope!)

I recently just did a fresh install of ubuntu 10.10 everything is up to date as well as my video card drivers.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to VirtualBox 3.2.0, and I finally installed Windows XP Professional onto it. Anyways, have any of you noticed that when you set the VM to fullscreen, you cannot access the taskbar at all? The icon for the cursor reverts to my Linux cursor, showing that the focus switched to Linux somehow in someway. The taskbar is set to always show, and this happens at the EXACT pixel that the panel starts at. It's pretty annoying if I say so myself. Forgot to mention, that this only happens with the mouse integration, and not mouse capture (for obvious reasons). Using: Windows XP Professional 32-bit (guest, and running SP3 with all updates) on VirtualBox 3.2.0 hosted by Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit (using KDE).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just installed Ubuntu 10.04 and, when using Hulu, if I try and enter Fullscreen Mode, Firefox crashes to the desktop. Is this a known bug? Is there a fix for it? Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using fglrx for my integrated ATI card, by the way, but the standard open-source drivers made video choppy, and I had the same problem with Hulu.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using VirtualBox and I installed the Guest additions successfully. Host F does not work as it is not the problem. The resolution under monitor is 800x600. I had the same problem in Fedora where I modified the xorg.conf however Ubuntu does not have the file located in /etc/X11/...
I tried adding it with the same xorg.conf from my Fedora Virtual machine but that screwed up my display and had to fix it from the terminal.
Not sure why Ubuntu 10 doesn't have an xorg.conf or how to fix the display if not from xorg.conf?

I'm using ubuntu 11.04 with Unity 2d as my hardware is too old to run the original one. I was previously using Lubuntu but after a slight RAM upgrade decided to use Ubuntu. Now I can't watch full screen video's online which is not the problem as it's always been like this with every distro I've used but now I can't even watch full screen videos in VLC, totem or any other media player for that matter, it'll either lag or completely freeze my system and this worked in Lubuntu fine

i was watching some videos on videos in fullscreen and after being idle the screen turns off. is there a setting to change this or do i have to disable putting the display to sleep in the power manager?----- edit -----i forgot to mention that i am using ubuntu classic. also, i disabled putting the display to sleep in the gnome power manager, but the screen still shuts off if the system is idle. guessing that the gnome power manager isn't actually in control.
