Ubuntu :: LXDE - Changing Default Window Behaviour?

Nov 28, 2010

I'm running various ubuntu guests but I had a question about Lubuntu. How or where do I change the default behaviour when I dbl-click the title bar in LXDE? Right now it maximizes/minimizes the window. I would prefer it roll up/down.

OpenSUSE :: Erratic Window Behaviour

Feb 7, 2010

I am having a problem with how my windows behave.My windows will maximize and minimize over and over, scroll bars will scroll to the bottom/right automatically, if I click a menu it will pop up for a fraction of a second and then go away. It makes my desktop almost unusable.I can't figure out if this is a mouse or video issue. I have a radeon 9500, and a logitech LX3 optical mouse. BTW, this problem is present in other distributions on my system. I am running KDE. It even does this on the livecd.

Ubuntu :: GNOME Window Darkening Behaviour / How To Turn It Off?

Apr 5, 2011

GNOME has a feature where it darkens windows when the program is hung up on a calculation (I think this is the condition under which it darkens anyway.)Not sure what this feature is, but I want to turn it off. Don't know how to go about this, as I don't even know what the feature is called. Anyone know how to turn it off?(It tends to darken a program I use when the program is actually not getting hung up in any appreciable way.)

Debian Installation :: Squeeze Defaults To KDE - Changing The Familiar Behaviour Of The Installer

Feb 8, 2011

I just finished reinstalling Squeeze on my little netbook using the debian-6.0.0-i386-netinst.iso and accepting just about all defaults, including that for the Desktop environment in tasksel. It appeared upon rebooting that, much to my surprise, KDE had been installed -- not the usual Gnome. Of course, there's nothing inherently wrong with KDE, but changing the familiar behaviour of the Debian Installer (i.e. to install Gnome) without warning seems a bit much to this long-time Debian user...

Just been looking at an 11.04 bootable CD, where I was reminded of the continued existence of xfce. "Must try that again!" I thought, and installed it through the Software Centre on my 10.04 laptop. I washoping/expecting that xfce would then become an option in the Sessions pulldown at log-on, but no such luck. What should I be doing? It is not my intention to switch to xubuntu, just to take another look at an alternative window manager.

There are several times where I have to manually go and change the permission to 755. If you just place a file in the directory it does not default to 755, seems odd since the document root folder is in my home directory. Chmod works fine but I was wondering is their a way to make all files or folders added to my document root to default to 755?
