Software :: Retrieve Vanished Packet(s) From DVD-repository?
Apr 27, 2011I upgraded to openSuSE 11.4 using the DVD. 11.3 used KNetworkManager which is broken in 11.4 and Novell now urges people to use plasmoid-networkmanagement. This is contained on the DVD, I have definitely seen it in YAST when I checked whether KNetworkManager is installed (and it is listed in [URL]
Consequently I now wanted to install the plasmoid-networkmanagement, but it is gone: neither YAST nor zypper list it anymore I dug around in all search modi but it is never listed -- seemingly gone for good from the DVD.
Before this I installed Gnome (and some other goodies) and tried the network management here (didn't work either). I then asked LQ [URL] and did some google-ing. So now I know that I should use the plasmoid-networkmanagement -- which I can't reach anymore.
I deleted the DVD-repository and added it again, using first YAST, then zypper.

The last years I ran very well with gentoo, but the time for system maintenance got to big the last few times I updated the system, so I decided to change and here am I. Similarly, if I click on System>Add/Remove Software>Package Collections, I get No groups could be found. A cache refresh should fix this. I don't see how to do a cache refresh. I tried rpm --rebuilddb, which didn't do any good and um clean all which also did no good. I did manage to do the updates with yum updates But I don't want to have to use yum at the command line all the time to do updates.

When I try to install anything it tells me to check my internet connetction which i know works just fine, it says that cannot connect to [my_ip]:8080 and I manually opened the port and nothing, i disabled the firewall and have no proxy running, it also gives me the info that connection(111:refused) What do I do?

Please verify its path and try again I have tried globally to disable the gpg check as stated in other threads. I have no proxies or such in yum.conf or in my bashrc. If I manually click on the link it will resolve in firefox so I am sure it is not my net connection per se, it seems yum or curl is adding a : to the end of the url thats why it wont resolve properly.
I have done a yum clean all , which didnt really help either. reinstalling the rpmfusion repos isnt an option either as I start getting curl errors in the terminal. I am really at a loss here and am completely out of ideas as I cant install any updates or software , at first I thought the repositories were having problems with the holidays but this has been going on for 4 days now. /var/log/messages isnt showing anything either.
