I am trying to set up my facebook account with gwibber. I click on add account and authorise my facebook account with gwibber successfully, but then when I close this window and go to the main gwibber window, there is nothing showing, so I go back to the accounts page, and there are no acconts listed there.
View 7 RepliesIn one of the threads I learnt that deleting the keyrings and setting the password to blank will help me escape the password pop up for the social broadcaster and so I did the same,now a new problem, every time I refresh the timeline the "Broadcast Accounts" (preferences) appears not one but 3 and this keeps pilling up as the update continues every 10 minutes, ITS REALLY IRRITATING that every time I refresh the timeline 3 windows appear and I have to close all of them pls look into it as soon as possible.And on another note: I posted a thread on it but I didn't seem to get a single response...in GWIBBER it doesn't show the MAIN TIMELINE FOR MY IDENTI.CA account. it just shows me the replies that people have posted to my status update....if it is possible get a new social broadcast client for Ubuntu GWIBBER certainly doesn't appeal not at its current form.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use gwibber 3.0 in Debian SID for the first time but I can't add accounts. I can perform all the steps but the new account never appears in the account list. I've tried debugging the problem but I don't know much about python apps. It seems that some files didn't get compiled (*.pyc) after installation so when running gwibber it tried to compile them without success. I've run it as root so that they got compiled it but it's still the same, no surprise here.

I installed the Lucid Release Candidate today, and for some reason Broadcast Accounts keeps opening itself, even after I've added all the accounts I'm going to. Is this happening with anyone else, and how can I make it stop?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI used to use Gwibber as social networks aggregator/client, but starting since last update (current version 3.1.0) it crashes miserably on both Fedora 14 and Fedora 15.
Gwibber team looks reluctant to provide any feedback on whether this shall be fixed in foreseeable future. Installing Gwibber from the last stable sources gives the same crash.
Friends i have an idea to broadcast few local TV channels to the world via internet.But friends i can't directly broadcast from my country because of bandwidth.friends is there a way to do this through a remote server server? i just need to input my stream to a remote server and then broadcast it from the server.I can stream channels to the server from my country through a 10mbbs connection.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter a fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.10 I uninstalled empathy (im using skype). The empathy menu in the evolution indicator was gone after that.I also uninstalled gwibber. But the gwibber status indicator remains within the about-me panel... Uninstalling the gwibber package also removes the me-menu which I want to keep actually. Especially the shutdown/restart... part of it. See attachment.I know there is a shutdown panel-app...but its butt-ugly and it doesnt allow to logon/off.
In another thread I read that the gwibber status shouldnt be there if no account for it is configured... which it is not... I do use ubuntu-one though which is in the same menu... I saw that this issue was addressed at some bug report before, but not fixed yet...
Does anybody know a good workaround to get rid of the gwibber status in the panel while keeping the about me and the shutdown button?
Having openSUSE 11.2, Firefox (latest release) is having some issues when comes to "saving image as", it fails to offer "saving window"? Konqueror works normal, what could be the problem with Firefox?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed ubuntu 10.04 today..but when i clicked on "broadcast accounts" of nothing happened at all.I tried to run gwibber manually but again nothing happed at all...the "chat accounts" are working fine..the problem is only with gwibber..I searched different forums and found that some users are experiencing this problem and others are not.

Lucid is adamn good release and in my opinion, one of the best till date. If I have to rate Lucid on its OOB Factor (Out Of Box), I would rate it 9.7/10.I have an AMD based laptop with ATI graphics chipset and this used to be a major headache (ATI's fault ofcourse) previously and I was gearing up for another hour or so of installing the video drivers from ATI and getting it to work.But,suprisingly it just worked out of the box with visual effects enabled. Every component on my machine worked as it ought to be.
I cant say enough about the interface overhaul. Its like a F16 got upgraded with some slick Alien technology. Ubuntu 10.04 is surely a GOLD standard for all Linux Distros out there. Coming to this minor issue, I am unable to add the facebook account in Me Menu via gwibber. It takes the login credentials and prompts me to allow or deny publishing to facebook. Clicking on allow doesn't do anything, it just sits there.
I've recently upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 and I've got to say that for me (been using Ubuntu since 9.04) that this has to be the best release yet, however one of the main added features doesn't successfully work for me? Unless I'm doing it wrong? So I'll list what I do just incase the problem is me.Firstly I access Gwibber (either from the Me Menu ( i think that's what it's called) and click broadcast account, or access it through the applications menu) then select Facebook from the drop down menu. I then click authorise and take all the steps needed to authorise Gwibber (logging in, accepting etc) and it says Facebook Authorised. I then click Add and it just highlights the box and doesn't actually do anything?
So I would like to know if I am doing something wrong while trying to authorise it and add the account, or if it just isn't working for me at the moment?
I tried installing Gwibber on Ubuntu 9.10, but when I start the program, it just goes grey and requires a force-quit.Running it in the terminal produced the following errors.

Twitter is working with my Gwibber but Facebook is working.It just shows blank on the twitter stream.

I have tried remove from ubuntu software center and Synaptic Package Manager, but when I reinstall Gwibber, it directly load from software list, and not download from internet. I want completely remove Gwibber, so if I want to reinstall Gwibber, my system download from internet and not install from database previous installation.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with gwibber. It has emerged randomly for no apparent reason as I have not changed any settings. All of a sudden, when updating my status on Facebook, and I click send, gwibber appears to work for a while, and then just nothing happens. My status does not get updated. It works fine with Twitter. It's only facebook. I have checked my application settings in Facebook and gwibber has full permission to post.#
I tried setting up the account again in gwibber, but this just opened a can of worms, because I had to reinstall gwibber and delete all of the config files in order to reinstate my facebook account, (see URL...)due to a bug in gwibber, which was a pain.
For some odd reason, Gwibber won't open at all. The process is listed as "Sleeping", but every time I try and open the app, nothing happens. I tried re-installing it, and even deleting it via Synaptic and installing, but to no avail.
What do I do?
The text entry box that you can normally type a message into when you click on your name in the top right of the screen is missing. It's there on my laptop, and I set up a couple of broadcast accounts and then noticed it was missing on my desktop. I've uninstalled and reinstalled gwibber and it's still not there.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI haven't ever had this working as I've never tried before today. Gwibber won't post to my ping.fm account. I'm certain the correct username and web-key have been entered (though Gwibber doesn't tell you one way or the other). It doesn't matter if I try to post via the Gwibber interface or the indicator-applet-session textbox... neither work. No error messages.
- I know Gwibber is working because it will post to twitter, facebook, identica, etc.
- I know my ping.fm account is working because it will post direct from website and/or browser extension
I am using Gwibber and Empathy for a while.
Does anyone know alternatives of the apps above, which supports Windows.
Note: Windows Live Messenger isn't such an option, because it doesn't support any other IM networks. And I don't know any Windows apps which connects to social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
I'm running 11.04 with gnome 3. Gwibber is updating fine with twitter, but facebook claims the account is authorized and giving me nothing! Don't see any updates and can't send anything out either.
