I had to compile openssh so I could have a version with the HPN-SSH patch applied. The compile seems to have gone fine, but oddly enough I have now have no ssh script in my /etc/init.d directory. So I have no easy way of automatically starting openssh-server.Here are the configure options I used when compiling openssh:
I'm learning how to program kernel drivers, and I'm making a hello world module for that. But I can't find the cause of some errors... My module as three files:
I'm trying to compile a package of OpenKiosk call NodeView on Ubuntu 10.04, I finally manage to run the 1rs. step of 3 with no problem at all, that I have to do to install this program:
Quote:
1rt - ./configure --prefix=/usr 2nd - make 3rd - sudo make install
Now when I try to run make I get this error:
Code: $ make cd xmlrpc++0.7 && make -f Makefile make[1]: Entering directory `/home/user/Desktop/nodeview-2.0.3/xmlrpc++0.7' g++ -c -pipe -g -Wall -W -O2 -I/usr/share/qt3/mkspecs/default -I. -o .obj/XmlRpcSocket.o src/XmlRpcSocket.cpp code....
I have install the dependiencies, by running the command sudo yum install qt4-devel jack-audio-connection-kit-devel successfully done (using fedora 11) After trying to build as [ajitj@fedora11 src]$ ./build But getting the error as bellow: (I have put some part of the lines)

I search the answer to my problem in various forums but I can't solve the problem.I think that is due to I need some package or that I don't install the necessary libraries.
different python module for playing audio similar problem. This time pyAudiere (sorry for sounding a little bored by this, but I had not much success of late) Ok, I am trying to install Audiere which doesnt work. I download the dependencies (libaudiere), then I extract the tarball download from their website. then I followed a procedure from this website because that was the only one I could find (documentation is a little sparse in that compartment unfortunately) from the terminal I write
I am trying to build rpm for openssh 5.8p1 on centos 5.6 (32 bit) as i have not found rpm for i386 online. i followed the below mentioned steps but when i apply command rpmbuild -bb openssh.spec it gives this error at the end:
configure error: Pam Headers not found error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.18348 (%build)
if there is any rpm availble online or to sort out this build problem,Following steps i followed to build rpm. wget http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/openssh/portable/openssh-5.8p1.tar.gz
tar -xvzf openssh-5.8p1.tar.gz[code]......
Now if you go back into /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/<arch> , you should see three RPMs. Go ahead and install them:rpm -Uvh *.rpm
I'm new around here and pretty new to ubuntu and linux in general. I am setting Up an sftp server. I set it up using openssh and it worked fine for a few months. Then recently we experienced a power outage. Now the server will boot fine, all users can login locally, but when they try to login remotely they enter their user info and then are denied with some generic network error. Again, being a noob at this I tried to trouble shoot this a little bit but I'm not quite sure what to look for. I believe the ssh service is running but I don't know what else to look for.
I see /home is not declared in /etc/fstab. I need it to be in /etc/fstab in order to be parsed by some software and notice there is actually a /home partition... Can I do such thing? Because i noticed the system just mounts it automatically during the boot process, doesn't it?
My system is a fc 12 using a 2.6.33.1 kernel from kernel.org ... i've prefer compile by myself to get a minimal kernel ( i got a old p4 a 1,6ghz 2gb ram) but i got fedora kernels from updates too I am trying to compile a kernel from www.kernel.org, linux-2.6.33.2 full .. i made the same with 2.6.33.1 and all ok I got kernels from fedora distro (kernel-devel and kernel-headers installed) and kernel.org I dont know why about directory paths and files ... why make finds it? ... i think that linux-2.6.33.2.bz2 include all needed how to configure the install path ? ... if i am using /usr/src/kernels/linux-2.6.33.2 and all bzip2 extracted into it ... i can't see "configure" tool I am trying to compile kernel 2.6.33.2 (without problems 2.6.33.1), but i got the following message :
I am trying to compile a simple remote procedure call program. I am getting an error: /tmp/ccy0M5rT.o: In function 'main': rpchighlayer.c.text+0x5c): undefined reference to 'rnusers' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I am using Fedora 11 (2.6.30.10-105.2.23.fc11.i686.PAE). I got a patch for tpm_tis.c which a module to get my itpm working. And, for this I thought to customise the existing kernel and install new one.
So, I followed the foolowing steps:
In 'make menuconfig' , I have disabled Kernel debugging in the Kernel hacking section.
Then changed EXTRAVERSION to something like .test in Makefile
I'm currently using Fedora 12 with kernel 2.6.31.9 and I was trying to upgrade to 2.6.32.2. These are the steps I followed. After rebooting and choosing this kernel from the Grub menu, I'm just greeted with a black screen with a blinking cursor and it won't proceed beyond that.
These are the commands I issued. I received an error on the first make modules about the mismatch. I then ran CONFIG_DEBUG_SECTION_MISMATCH=y and once finished I ran make modules again and it completed successfully.
Code: Downloaded kernel package 2.6.32.2 from www.kernel.org untar archive make menuconfig (no changes made, saved config file) make
New to this kernel stuff But not too new to C/C++. I'm trying to compile the linux kernel on a PC, that is running Windows XP 32 bit, using Cygwin. I keep getting the error saying:
I have tried to compiled e2fsprogs-1.41.12 to be used on my android device that runs linux kernel. I need to compile it with -static option but building returns error First is the configure:
I'm trying to install squidGuard-1.4, I have a minimal install. I have installed squid-3.2.0.5 without any problems, but squidGuard is driving me crazy
I can run the ./configure with no problems but when I run make, or make install I keep getting this error:
Code: make: *** [y.tab.c] Error 141 And that is is all, no more verbosity or anything else. Error suggests that YACC is missing but bison is present, also db4 (tried with db44 and db3, same story).
Just in case you can see anything I cannot I've attached the config.log
