View 1 RepliesI have a Blackberry Bold 9000 that I would like to be able to sync with Kmail. Once I do this, I can be rid of the last bit of Windows I own (Windows Vista) on my laptop. Also, will I still be able to perform Blackberry software updates as required from my Linux sync? Once I have this solved I can get rid of Windows, and put OpenSuse on my laptop too.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use the Futura font as my application/desktop/titlebars font, and I think it looks beautiful. However, its bold version is much too dark for my liking and it really spoils the look of my desktop when it's used in applications (Nautilus' sidebar and Libre Office's menubar are the main offenders), and what I would much rather is if the system would use Futura's heavy weight option instead of bold, but after searching gconf and for configuration files I can't work out where or how I would do this.

View 2 Replies View Relatedeverytime I try to shutdown/reboot, it gets to the screen where it has the green/bold status messages on the side, but then it simply stops. The cursor doesn't blink, nothing happens...you could wait 10 minutes, and it would still be at that same screen. I don't know if I've described this well enough for anyone to understand, but I hope so! I don't have a camera, but if I did...I'd post a picture of where I mean...
But like I said, after getting to a certain, without actually shutting down, it simply stops and does absolutely nothing. This is rather inconvenient, and I'd like to find a solution to this if possible. EDIT: I'm sorry I didn't provide any hardware info, but I'm using Gnome...This didn't happen 100% of the time KDE like it does now though. (But it DID happen in KDE as well) I'm using OpenSUSE 11.2... I'll be back in a moment with hardware info, assuming it may aid in a solution.

Got a problem with fonts in 'Konsole'-windows. 'Bold' fonts are being cut off at the last letter. Sometimes only half the letter is visible, sometimes the letter is completely invisible. No problems with fonts in xterm. Set the standards in '/etc/DIR_COLORS', but the problem still exists in (for example):
- man-pages (headings)
- perldoc (headings)
- vi (infos at bottom, like -- INSERT --)
- ...
Is there a solution to turn off bold fonts in Konsole completely? Would be my favourite! I'm using OpenSUSE 11.3, KDE 4.4.4 "release 2"...
I hate to ask dumb questions here but how do you bold the title of the post? I have tried fonts etc. But cannot seem to get it to show up like the others posted. It is always in a regular format.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my BlackBerry, USCellular said I couldn't tether with Linux. That's not so, all you need is BlueTooth (USB adapter, built in, whatever)
You just install Blueman
Code:
sudo apt-get install blueman
Search for your BlackBerry, Pair it to your computer, then go to Devices > Serial ports > Dial Up Networking.
Your wireless connection should be in Network Manager. NOTE: You may have to right-click on NM and setup Numbers, Passwords, Usernames. I did.

The only issue I have found is I can't get the unread email to have bold text. I've tried downloading a number of fonts but no deal. Anyone know the font package I need to make this work?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe are having problems opening some PDF files: get error and whole document is unreadable using acrobat 9.x on karmic. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry bold and I am running squeeze with gnome. I want to be able to pull files off the bb via usb. When I connect the bb to my computer, the bb asks me to key in my password. Also, Under Places -> Computer, I can see an icon for the blackberry.
However, when I double click on the blackberry icon it does not open. Running "mount /dev/sda1" from the shell, I get "mount: mount point /media/sda1 does not exist".
HOWTO: Sync Contacts between BlackBerry and Evolution on Fedora 10
1. Overview
Open source tools are available to sync a BlackBerry with Evolution but it appears these tools are not supported by Fedora 10. The main thing that seems to be missing is the Barry plugin for OpenSync. Maybe the reason that this package has not been created is that Barry requires OpenSync version 0.22, whereas F10 ships OpenSync version 0.36. This HOWTO explains how to build all of the required components from source code. If the required package becomes available, this HOWTO would then be redundant.
This entire build and installation is performed in the home directory of a non-root user to ensure that no system files are broken. Some of the commands in this HOWTO must be run as root, when this is the case it is stated explicitly and otherwise the commands in this document should be run under a non-root account. The username for the examples below is erik.
2. Be a Developer
When you install F10 you are prompted to specify the uses to which your computer will be put. Hopefully you selected software development, if not your machine will probably be missing many of the utilities required for this HOWTO.
3. Initialize Evolution
Open Evolution and click on all of the buttons at the left to ensure that the necessary databases are created.
4. Prepare The Environment

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two MP3 Player device and 1 old Blackberry phone(they could be connect to PC with USB cable). All of them works fine with Windows 7. Now I want to connect them to my Ubuntu 10.04.
When connected,There is absolutely no information about my devices either by dmesg, lsusb, mount or fdisk -l, gvfs-mount -l,cat /var/log/messages.
I have tried following but not work:
1.logout and re-plug my device then login again; plugin my device and reboot;
2.modprobe uhci_hcd ehci_hcd usb-storage and re-plug my device
3.add uhci_hcd ehci_hcd usb-storage lines to /etc/modules .
4.install mtpfs mtp-tools packages and use it in rhythmbox.
5.remove any other USB devices and re-plug my device.
The strange thing is, my kindle reader is worked fine with 10.04, but either my MP3 players or my old Blackberry phone is not identified by 10.04. Maybe All of the un-identified devices is USB1.X, but I'm not sure, or if there is some problem with old USB support.
My MP3 player identified as two device with Windows 7, one is USB CDROM, another is USB Mass storage.
I have a USB hub with one usb mouse and one USB key board, both works well with 10.04.
In the Evolution message list, all messages are shown in bold whether read or unread. I know it's supposed to only show unread messages in bold, but it shows read messages in bold too, so you can't tell between them. The read/unread flag is set properly - you can tell by right-clicking on the message and seeing whether it offers to toggle it to read or unread. But the font remains bold no matter what.
