Software :: FFMPEG Encoding WMV3 Audio And Video To FLV
Feb 19, 2010
I'm trying to encode a wmv file to flv with ffmpeg. The video codec is WMV3 and the audio codec is wmap (Windows Media Audio Professional). The command I use is:
As you can probably see the audio codec is not supported. Is there a way to encode WMV3+wmap with ffmpeg or any other tool in Linux? Windows Media Encoder in Windows is able to encode such files to a supported codec. For example: WMV3+WMA2/WMV2+WMA2, I could then encode it in Linux. I'm trying to find a way to directly encode WMV3+wmap in Linux.
I'm trying to get my kids' DVD's backed up and converted for use on their little video players. The players as best I can tell will only play movies encoded in wmv3 (I think essentially the same as VC1?). ffmpeg apparently isn't capable of encoding to either format and mencode seems to have the same issue. Does anyone know of a Linux option for encoding into this PITA format?
I'm trying to write a bash script for gpodder to automatically convert video podcasts to play on my media player. I'm using ffmpeg for the conversions (compiled myself with all codecs enabled). I'd like to avoid resampling the video or audio whenever it's unnecessary but ffmpeg seems to want to resample my video even if I only give it audio parameters to change. For example I have a test video with the following parameters:
i am using Ubuntu 11.04 on my computer system. I urgently need a good video converter for converting videos.I have already installed FFmpeg and men-coder,Winff etc. The problem is each has its own drawback. For instance ffmpeg cannot convert a .avi to .3gp with audio working. My preferences are the converter should be user friendly, should support all popular video formats.
I'm trying to convert Flac audio file to AAC file using command line. It's working fine. Now I want to do the same using fifo And it's freezing. So could you tall me what I'm doing wrong.
I am using ffmpeg for merge wav files to a mov video. My doing is below
1. First extract audio (wav file) from video 2. Create wav file from mp3 track 1 3. Create wav file from mp3 track 2 4 Merge extract audio from video with track 1 and track2. Now finally create a new video with original video's video stream and merged audio stream.
Process is working. However final video is 3-4 times greater than original one. I want that final video should be near about size of original video. As I understand, all three wav files (created from ) make video larger.
I'm using using ubuntu 11.04, and im using Avidemux (GTK+) whatever date that is, got it a couple days ago from the software center.
I attached some .a/s/s subtitles to the video, and the preview looked great. Encoded the video, and the audio plays like two times faster than the actual video, so by about halfway through the video, the audio is done and im left in silence with the video still going.
I set the video to MPEG-4 AVC, attach .a/s/s subs, leave audio alone, and encode using default option (Single pass-quality quantisizer)
I use record mydesktop to record what i do in mydesktop. But when i stop record. This box appear. I wait... wait... and wait. But the process encode never complete .
It is well known that mencoder can be used to encode video to be burned on DVD with a tool like dvdauthor. The whole procedure is described here: 7.8. Using MEncoder to create VCD/SVCD/DVD-compliant files
Sound for a DVD is normally encoded with AC3. I encountered some cases where the encoded sound was badly distorted. As it seems, the default for the input changed to float at some point. The fix for this is to use: Code: acodec=ac3_fixed instead of "acodec=ac3".
I'm trying to encode a video using only one image during a complete audio file, but a can't find the way to do it. What I need to do is to extend the duration of the frame up to the duration of the audio file. How do I do that with mencoder?
I have a Windows machine with a 2TB hard drive containing several raw videos I want to encode with Handbreak. I have two laptops I want to use to cut down on the time. These laptops have very small hard drives, and probably can't hold more than one or two videos at a time. I was wondering if there is a way to keep all the videos on my Windows machine and just use the laptop's to encode over the network, or at least have it automatically copy the raw videos, and put the encoded ones back as needed. Long story short: one big hard drive, three CPUs to encode, need to split the work up quickly.
Is there an app or find parameter that can search for video files using a specific (DivX for example) encoding? On Windows, you can do this, so I was hoping there would be some way on Linux whether it's with find or another app. I want to find all (*.avi OR *.divx) on my file system with the DiVX fourcc tag (i think that's what its called)
I'm trying to encode music videos in a way I can watch them on my Zicplay Zicone Mp4 player. This player seem to have a Rockchip RKNano chipset and is said to support mpeg4 videos. The sample video that came with it seem to have been encoded with xvid and has a resolution of 160x128@15fps. Audio seems to be mp2.
However, when I encode a video with mencoder it will play but with video only sporadically showing and playing way to fast. Does someone know if some special options are required? I'd prefer not to use the Windows utility that came with it.
I creating a mini soft for screencast (audio + video) with ffmpeg. For the video,it's ok.For the sound, the capture of sound of my webcam (/dev/dsp1) it's ok.
Code: ffmpeg -f oss -ar 44100 -i /dev/dsp1 -acodec mp2 -ab 128k test.mp3 But for my audio desktop :
I'm looking for configuring a Ubuntu box, we need to capture alsa output into ffmpeg with jack or OSS but not pulseaudio, as that tends to glitch badly. We have things working, but we are sort of hacking around in the dark, we play music, but as we aren't linux audio experts ourselves.
I have some video clip and I want to add a title in its buttom center. For exemple, My clip is video.mp4 and I want to add the title "hello world".Does ffmpeg (or mencoder) enables me to do this?
I've created some time-lapse videos from photos, using this command: ffmpeg -i IMG_%03d.JPG -s 1440x1080 -sameq video.MP4
And it worked great. Now I want to join several of these time-lapse videos to make a single, longer video (all the input videos have the exactly same format). I already tried using: cat video1.MP4 video2.MP4 > stitch.MP4
but the output ends up being equal to video1.MP4, I don't want to transcode nor changing any parameter of the video, I just want a end-to-end stitching, as if those videos were on a playlist.
I'm having trouble to find the right ffmpeg options to encode a video that can be read on a htc G1 cell phone. I have used several codecs and formats but none is working.
I have followed these instruction to install ffmpeg and x264 [URL]
Here is my ffmpeg config :
Code: FFmpeg version SVN-r24953, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers built on Aug 27 2010 22:44:01 with gcc 4.4.1 configuration: --enable-gpl --enable-version3 --enable-nonfree --enable-postproc --enable-libfaac --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopencore-amrnb --enable-
I'm trying to find out how to add watermark to a video using a ffmpeg via console, because I have to do it quick. There is tutorial on ..... (other forums use also this video tutorial) for this but there is a small problem - in ffmpeg 6.1 there is no more vhook subsystem which is used in tutorial...
Anybody had any success in getting ffmpeg to work as advertised with video capture from a webcam? I really want to convert the webcam output to VP8 or H264, but apparently ffmpeg can't even capture the webcam with a video4linux device.
But FFmpeg is not accurate and it started the video from a nearby point instead (from 00:24:46~). I tried to add 2 seconds to my starting point and it took another frame (not what I wanted).
