Slackware :: How To Get OpenCV Library Location

Aug 22, 2010

I recently installed openCV using [URL]. I am unable to locate library location to be included while running programs. Does this version of openCV needs libraries to be downloaded externally or they are inbuilt and I am unable to get their location.

Programming :: OpenCV - Pixel Format Of Incoming Image Is Unsupported By OpenCV

Nov 6, 2010

I'm using a logitech quickcam pro 3000 on Ubuntu 10.04.

When I run a simple program with OpenCV to display the output from a camera I get the following output:

Code:

A window still opens with the output from the camera, but it seems very low quality and has far less pixels then it should. The camera built into my computer runs the same program with no problems.

My code for the program is simply:

Code:

One further note to make is that I still have the bad quality and low number of pixels with the logitech even when using webcam program. I can seem to find any drivers to update or anything though.

Where is the location of the header files for the c++ standard library?

I assume that they were installed by gnu g++, please correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm running ubuntu 10.04 with g++ 4.4.

I looked in /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/4.4/include, but this directory contains only the following:

Code:

Which doesnt seem to include the really basic things like iostream, for example.

Where can I take a look at the header files for these standard c++ libraries?

Ubuntu :: 10.04 - Banshee And Default Library Location

Jul 23, 2011

I am moving to Banshee on all of my 10.04 systems (anticipating the future of Ubu). Banshee has been doing something I don't understand and which seems very wrong (and which is actually causing some problems, if minor). First let me explain the arrangement. I have a server with a music share we'll call server:/tunes. On all of the machines and for all the users there is a mount (/media/tunes/) for said share.

Additionally so that all users have the same transparent experience, each user has a shortcut at ~/Music/tunes (which points to /media/tunes/). Through this I don't need to alter the default library location and all of the music on the server is automatically part of every library (and all library content and playlists have the same paths). However, Banshee has decided for some files to do one of three things:

1. It points (correctly) to only ~/Music/tunes/path/to/song.flac
2. It points (wrongly) to only /media/tunes/path/to/song/flac
3. It points to both and there is a duplicate entry
I have not knowingly given Banshee the path /media/tunes/anything.

Ubuntu Multimedia :: Reconfigure Rhythmbox To Use Single Library Location?

May 12, 2010

I copy all music to a single location (~/music) which makes it easier to backup and manage. However, Rhythmbox looks for music both here, and under the purchased music folder, which means that any music I have purchased gets listed twice - once from my music folder, and once from the purchased music folder.I have tried using gconf-editor to change apps/rhythmbox/library_locations to only include my music folder, however when next I restart Rhythmbox, the setting reverts to also including the purchased music folder. Is there a way of preventing this from happening?I only want "~/music" listed for library locations - I do not wish to include "~/.local/share/ubuntuone/Purchased%20from%20Ubuntu%20One".

What is the best GUI development kit such as Qt, GTK or FLTK that is best fit for such an app? I mean what is the most stable, reliable and fast GUI development library that works best with Fluxbox?

Slackware :: In Multilib Can The Same Library Be Installed Under Each Architecture

Feb 24, 2011

A certain program I use requires pango and gtkglext in 32 bit. I had already installed both of these in 64, and just now I downloaded .rpms for them in 32 bit and used rpm2tgz to turn them into .tgz files. The application i needed them for now works fine, but I'm wondering if installing precompiled packages like I did may mess with the 64 bit installs I already did, or if they can both be installed at the same time without any issues.

Slackware :: Src2pkg Doinst.sh Auto Library Links

Apr 1, 2011

auto generated doinst.sh files when using the -A switch.

The file will contain link removal and generation for libraries in the package eg.

When upgrading to a new version of the app, the library name might change eg.

So the links that doinst.sh creates is now incorrect. ie. the link is now dead because it points to a file that does not exist. Does one have to regenerate .src2pkg and resulting doinst.sh when using a new version of the package or is there another way to have doinst.sh regenerated without redoing .src2pkg?

Slackware :: Change Mail Spool Location ?

Mar 2, 2010

Is there a way to change the mail spool location from /var/mail/ to some other place? I'm thinking of users own home directory or $HOME/.mail.

This is because system partition is not big enough to keep all mail from the company and /home is in a different one.

Creating another partition to keep /var or /var/mail seems too much just to keep emails.

Solution: checking /usr/doc/procmail-x.xx/examples/advanced

Slackware :: Directory Location Of A Slackbuild Installpkg ?

Feb 3, 2010

I have used a couple of slackbuild binary packages (i.e. without doing the actually build) and have worked fine. Thanks to those who have spent the time and effort to create them.

When installing the package I wanted to know what binary files were being put on my machine and at which directory location. This was more out of curiosity.

However, now I plan to get the boost slackbuild package. It's more relevant to know where it's being installed. Is there a way to know that? Also, can I specify a different directory?

Slackware :: Running Multi For 32 Bit Support - Error Loading CURL Library

Jun 27, 2010

I'm running Slack 13.1 64 bit. I'd like to try running multi for 32 bit support so I can run a 32 bit version of firefox using the 32 bit flash plugin. Here's what I did: - followed Alien Bob's Wiki and download and installed all the *txz files. - installed a bunch of required libraries following the instructions on the Wiki - installed the 32 bit 10.1 version of the flash player plugin in $HOME/.mozilla/plugins/ - started the 32 bit 3.6.3 version of firefox; it seems to work fine. - go to about plugins and verify that Shockwave Flash (libflashplayer.so) is version 10.1 r53 and it is enabled. - run "ldd libflashplayer.so" and verified that all libraries are found. - run "ldd /usr/lib/firefox-3.6.3/firefox-bin" and verified all libraries are found. - go to [URL]... and click on "test your adobe flash player installation" I will get this error: Adobe Flash Player error: could not load cURL library - I verified (repeatedly) that I do have what I think is the correct package. How can I fix (or start debugging) this error?

Slackware :: Failure Building Multiple Apps Due To Missing Library Jscore?

Jan 26, 2011

I'm having a problem building some applications (e.g. Qsynth and FreeCAD) with sbopkg relating to an unfound library named "jscore". I've been keeping my system up to date with slackware64-current.Google searches have turned up very little about this library. There is a sourceforge page that has no files and seems to be related to a google hosted script jsCore.js... but I don't think that's what's missing here. I've come across some vague references to this jscore library being part of webkit. Can anyone verify this? I updated my webkit library itself and found no apparent results. Perhaps jscore was removed in an update to Qt (both of the example applications mentioned above link to Qt) as it seems to have it's own webkit library, libQtWebKit.

Slackware :: Change Default Firefox (Save As) Window Location?

May 20, 2010

Since school ended, I decided to finally wipe and due a clean upgrade to Slackware 13.0. Everything is great except one thing. When I want to save something in firefox, the "save as" window that popups up, that allows you to browse to right directory, popups too low. In my window manager(wmii), the bottom is cutoff. I want to have the window popup higher. Is this possible? In my previous install, I think the window would usually remember where it last was, but now it seems to always popup in the same location. I'm not sure if this is slackware, firefox or wmii issue. Also I tried another wm, Awesomewm, and it showed up in the same spot.

Slackware :: Texlive's Kpathsea And Cannot Find The Shared Library File Libkpathsea.so.6 - LD_LIBRARY_PATH

Oct 14, 2010

I recently installed a Slackware-13.1 32 bit system and I encountered an odd problem. I had a texlive-2010 package from slackbuilds.org, previously compiled on another 32 bit Slack-13.1 system. I just installed the precompiled package on the new system. However, whenever I tried to issue a latex command, kpathsea complained that it cannot find the shared library file libkpathsea.so.6. I googled a bit and I found that this could be circumvented by setting the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to "/usr/share/texmf/lib", where the library in question actually is.

This solved the problem. The weird thing is that on other machines I have installed, kpathsea had no issues whatsoever and I did not have to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. The only difference is that on those systems I had compiled and installed texlive, not just installing a precompiled package. Could that be causing the issue?

Ubuntu :: OpenMotif : Create Network Location Link As Local Filesystem Location?

Apr 26, 2011

I'm working with a program that uses Open Motif to create all of the widgets, including the Open File dialog box (obviously). However, Open Motif being kinda old-timey, 80's vintage, and for the most part now an abandoned project, it is quite clunky. So, actually what I need to do is to open some files located on my work server. I have already successfully connected to the relevant server directories with Samba, and with programs built with GTK+ (such as GIMP) I can open files across the network because I have created a bookmark in Nautilus, and those bookmarks appear in the Open File dialog box created by GTK+. Now, Open Motif is different: it doesn't see network locations, orNautilus shortcuts. When I type "smb://serveripyadayada" in the search folder, it really doesn't like it and complains. So, what do I do? Can I get somehow Open Motif to open a network location? Or can I do a run-around and place a shortcut in the file system that points to the network location?

Fedora :: OpenCV Cannot Resolve FFmpeg Codec Libraries

OpenCV doesn't work. I wonder why would anyone create a RPM package and not bother to check whether it actually works? Do they get paid per package at Red Hat? The problem seems to be in cap_ffmpeg.cpp. Somehow, OpenCV cannot resolve the ffmpeg CODEC libraries, but the annoying part is that it compiles and installs error free - it just doesn't work. Without any error messages, it is really hard to figure out what is wrong.
