Server :: Ddns Reverse Zone Updates Add Subdomain Twice To Each Entry?

Server :: Trying To Configure Apache Reverse Proxy

Oct 4, 2010

I have a question to masters of Apache. In my operating system (CentOS 5) I have installed two Apaches. One is Apache (port 80) from repository where I planning to configure proxy and second one is Apache integrated(port 8090) with KnowledgeTree software. The problem is that when I am trying to configure proxy reverse it simply doesn't work.

This is link to KnowledgeTree software:
- http://127.0.0.1:8090/knowledgeTree

This link I would like to rewrite with proxy like this:
https://myserver.com/knowledgeTree
(HTTPS dont forget)

In my ssl.conf in VirtualHost part I have created something like this:
Code:
<IfModule mod_proxy.c>
<Proxy *>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Proxy>

ProxyRequests off
ProxyPass /knowledgeTree http://127.0.0.1:8090/knowledgeTree
ProxyPassReverse /knowledgeTree http://127.0.0.1:8090/knowledgeTree
<Location /knowledgeTree/>
ProxyPassReverse /
</Location>
</IfModule>

When I am trying to connect I see only: Unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ifdocu.contaxt.biz:8090.

Ubuntu Servers :: Bind9 Views - Reverse Lookup Zone Doesn't Work ?

Apr 1, 2011

I'm at a loss to why my reverse lookup zone doesn't work for me.I've got two views. One internal and one external. My domain is isp2.datornatverk.se. Public IP: 130.240.133.81.

dig -x @8.8.8.8 130.240.133.81

gives me:

;; Got answer:
;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: NXDOMAIN, id: 2917
;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 0, AUTHORITY: 1, ADDITIONAL: 0

I've set it up so that the internal subnets gets the domains resolved to the internal IP-addresses. When querying from external addresses I will get public IP.My named.conf.local file:

Code:
acl internals {
127.0.0.0/8;[code]..........

I don't know whether the views has messed something up. It worked before I added the views.

Server :: DNS Server Not Reachable From Different Subnet Intermittently

Aug 27, 2010

We are having two DNS servers working as master and slave in our DMZ network subnet.DMZ network consist other servers also, but only the DNS servers intermittently becomes unreachable (no ping response) from different subnets whereas the internal communication (within subnet) happens at that time.From the DNS server we are unable to ping gateway ip also when the issue arises.We tried changing the port where DNS servers connected in DMZ switch and even reformatted the OS and reconfigured DNS but nothing seems to be working.We even tried changing the IP address of the server but after few days the New IP Address also gets affected

We google around a lot tying to fix the issue but no solution has yet come up.We are not even sure whether it is server issue or a network issue.

Server :: PHP And Sendmail With External Mail Server / Failed Reverse DNS Check?

Jun 7, 2010

After searching the forum I could not find a clear answer to my question so I am giving it a try...

I have installed a LAMP server with Postfix as mail server. The scripts send email as user www-data using the mail server on the same machine.

However, the email got rejected by external mail servers (failed reverse DNS check) so I setup a mail server that meets all needed requirements.

Now I would like to use this second server instead of the mail server on the LAMP server. I found that this could be done with changing sendmail settings in php.ini (I think).

However I am not sure how that will go: www-data is no actual user on the new email server (which requires authentication before sending). Do I need to create a new user on the email server or change the settings in php.ini to match an existing user?

Server :: Setup Reverse Proxy With Proxy_mod To Port 443 On IIS Server

Aug 30, 2010

We currently have a SUSE Apache2 reverse proxy server setup to reverse proxy (proxy_mod) our GroupWise Web Access server. Our SUSE box is located at www.domain.com. Our GroupWise Web Access server is located internally and is called GWMail. We are in the process of migrating from Novell to Windows, so we will have an exchange server with OWA access running on a Windows Server 2008 IIS7 box. That one will be called EXMail internally. Right now when someone goes to www.domain.com/gw/webacc it goes to the GWMail internal server from the outside world. This was all set up by previous techs who used Linux more.

We would like to set up reverse proxy to be able to reverse proxy to the Exchange Server from the outside world. Unfortunately the snag we are running into is that Exchange needs to run on port 443, and forwarding to port 443 has been a little tricky. I've read elsewhere we need to implement a generic TCP proxy, such as IPtables. what we need to do to get our SUSU Apache2 server to be able to reverse proxy to our Exchange server on port 443. For the save of argument lets call our SUSE server ExtranetServer. Below is our default-configuration.conf file's configuration:

Server :: BIND9 Conf And Zone Files?

Sep 20, 2010

The thing is, I've created a new local zone here (called "local.lan"), and, aparently, it is working fine, and DHCP3-SERVER is updating DNS info through the controls.But sometimes I get some strange answers from the server, like when I do the "arp" command in one of the clients, and get the server's hostname "mixed" with it's own reverse, like this: "dns.local.lan.2.168. | ether | 00:02:1e:f5:61:74 | C | eth0". Other thing is that sometimes my DNS don't update when a computer "enters" the lan. In the /var/log/syslog the DHCPOFFER appears, but the information about the DNS update isn't there.So, I would like to show you my named.conf file and my local zone db file, and get some feedback from you (what would you change... what is wrong...).

Server :: Getting Samba Shares To Work Across Subnet Boundaries

Jul 8, 2011

My environment in a nutshell is like this:
- I'm a member of a Windows AD domain environment that spans many different subnets.
- My client workstation (Windows XP) is part of this domain and resides on one subnet.
- The server I'm trying to get Samba working on (SLES 10) is part of the same domain but resides on a different subnet.
- I want to access shares on the SLES 10 box from my workstation.

Here is what does work:
1. I can ping the workstation from the SLES box, both by hostname and ip.
2. I can ping the SLES box from my workstation, both by hostname and ip.
3. netstat -an shows that the SLES box is listening on ports 139 and 445.
4. I can telnet from my workstation to the SLES box on ports 139 and 445.
5. Output from smbclient -L coolserver (hostname obfuscated):

Code:
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[COOLDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.5.8-30.4-2516-SUSE-CODE10-x86_64] .....

Code:
Enter cooluser's password:
Domain=[COOLDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.5.8-30.4-2516-SUSE-CODE10-x86_64]
smb: >
So, cross-subnet communication seems to be working in a general sense and I have verified that my share is present and accessible by my chosen user id.

Here's what doesn't work (from the workstation):
1. Output from net view \coolserver:
Code:
System error 64 has occurred.
The specified network name is no longer available.

2. Output from net view \coolservercoolshare:
Code:
System error 5 has occurred.
Access is denied.

3. Same output as above if I try to connect via IP.
However, when I run any of the above commands from my workstation, I see the following in log.smbd on the SLES box:

Code:
coolworkstation (10.49.140.36) connect to service coolshare initially as user cooluser (uid=12171, gid=500) (pid 29039)
[2011/07/08 00:39:29.098422, 1] smbd/service.c:1251(close_cnum)
coolworkstation (10.49.140.36) closed connection to service coolshare

I'm not really sure how to interpret this because those are the exact same entries that get logged when I connect to the share locally, via the smbclient utility on the SLES box, which works fine... but from the Windows box I get the "Access is Denied" or "The specified network name is no longer available" errors. I also occasionally see this in log.smbd:

Code:
[2011/07/08 01:01:19.858308, 1] smbd/server.c:240(cleanup_timeout_fn)
Cleaning up brl and lock database after unclean shutdown
[2011/07/08 01:01:33.828692, 0] printing/print_cups.c:108(cups_connect)
Unable to connect to CUPS server localhost:631 - Connection refused
[2011/07/08 01:01:33.832127, 1] smbd/server.c:282(remove_child_pid)
Could not find child 29781 -- ignoring

I don't know if that is relevant. I created the Samba user via the smbpasswd utility and my smbusers file maps the system user directly to the Samba user, both of which have the same password. Here is my smb.conf:

Code:
[global]
workgroup = COOLDOMAIN
netbios name = coolserver
domain master = no
preferred master = yes
local master = yes
wins support = no .....

My workstation and the SLES box are both pointing to the same WINS server, which services the entire domain (which is also one of the DC's and one of the DNS servers). I'm really not sure what's going on. I'm guessing it probably has something to do with the subnet boundaries or the WINS configuration or something along those lines. I just don't understand because the smb daemon seems to be logging "successful" sessions from my workstation... but then the session just insta-closes.
