I have 2 clients (one IP 200.x.y.52 and another 200.x.y.47) in ADSL conection and a same gateway (200.x.y.1).
When the server send an email, the error "No route to host" appear. I used TELNET 200.x.y.52 25 (110 soo) and the error occurr in both servers and both directions. The Firewall was disabled .
It has been years since I had to mess with sendmail (I prefer using postfix) - but I inherited a server that someone else configured. This machine is a webserver - but is running sendmail for the various webforms, etc. I want to configure sendmail on this machine to route ALL outgoing messages to the main email server. This means local users too. I have read through sendmail configurations for the past 3 hours, but it's mostly greek. Here is my current sendmail.mc file - could some kind soul tell me what I need to change (and WHERE)?

I am managing a Fedora dedicated server with Plesk 9 and just recently moved the email for one of the domains on the server to Google Apps for business. Unfortunately, I cannot get email messages from the website forms to deliver to addresses on this domain. For anyone familiar with Plesk, I have disabled mail in the hosting settings by un-checking the "Activate mail service on domain" checkbox and there are no accounts in the domain. (Other readings have indicated that this should be enough to allow mail to be directed to the appropriate server). My MX records correctly point to the google apps mail server.
I'm quite comfortable with command line, but I know almost nothing about the sendmail program or its alternatives and my attempts at researching how to set up this relay has been futile. I'm pretty sure I'm using sendmail and not qmail or anything else from what the red-hat style "alternatives" symlinks point to. I've also checked the /etc/mail/access, domaintable, mailertable, sendmail.cf, virtusertable, local-host-names, sendmail.cf, and submit.cf and most of these files are empty (except the .cf files), and the sendmail.cf and submit.cf make no reference to the domain in question.
Here is the output from a sendmail test that was was not received. (Private data omitted of course).

Performing the same test and sending an email to a non-hosted domain works fine.
How long normaly keep the mail server send mails on the outbox queue and try to send? What about hotmail, gmx and gmail mail server?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set up postfix and dovecot as per the Ubuntu anual and appear to have a functioning mail server.Using the sendmail command I can send mail and I receive mail in ~/Maildir. Using Thunderbird I can read any mails received but I can't send any mail from Thunderbird. I have tried with both STARTTLS and SSL/TLS and whilst I get the prompt for a password I keep getting the message my password for my server is wrong.I have ports 25, 465, 587 and 993. Is that all the right ports?When I ping my domain name it resolves to my router name whereas I believe it should resolve to my IP. Could there be a problem with my host file? I've had a play but to no avail.Here's the error in mail.log.

I installed ntop on our server, after installing it, i ran ntop as a daemon. shortly after we lost the ability to ssh into the server.tried restarting ssh, but it didn't work, so had to restart the entire server.Where should we look to find why ssh suddenly stopped?

I'm setting up apache on centOS 5.5 and administering it from another host on my LAN(this web server has no Xorg). I can ping from the config host to the web server but not the other way. My network is quite a way from being set up so i'm just configuring the web server at the moment, the simplest way i can. It's just trying to get two LAN hosts both with 192.168.1.0/24 I.Ps to talk to each other using a router to connect them.

i have an server which have my site on it, server have an public ip and site works fine..the thing that i done to enable mail server is :
1.select sendmail option as mail server(in joomla).
2.install and configure sendmail in server (which ubuntu installed on it )
**if i use my website locally mail server works fine i can send message and receive , but when i use web site from Internet mail server seems not working at all
i basically had this system installed for our mail system.The setup is as follows:
1. Operating system installed is Debian ver. 5.0.3
2. Roundcube is installed as a webmail(if its right for me to say that)
3. The server is hosted right here at our offices
4.The server uses relay system to send mail i.e. relays all our mails to our ISP
That all i can say about the configurations becuase thats as much as i understand it.The problem now is that we are not able to send or recieve emails from both internal and external.I tried to send mail to a collegue in the office who is on our local LAN,Roundcube says sent successfully but the person does not recieve the mail.i tried to send to my yahoo address but nothing.I dont know where these mails have been trapped.

Email sent to the domain can be seen in /var/spool/mail/akwebsoft, just as on the previous server. All I want is to be able to access files on one Ubuntu computer from another Ubuntu computer via a home wireless network. I have been at this for a week now. Scouring the web for answers and so far I have come up with this: Port 22 is open. I have both computers IP addr's via right clicking on the network icon-> Connection Information. ssh is installed and running. Both computers are listening on port22. But when I try Places->Connect to server, I get "no route to host". I'm not a networking guru and I'm at a complete loss on this.

I have a bit of problem setting up sendmail on my server. I've gotten so far that I can send mail from my mail server and relay mail from my LAN computers through it. Also, local delivery seems to be working.The problem is receiving mail from other domains. When I send mail from my gmail account to any user in my domain the mail gets delivered back to gmail as it exceeds the max hop count.The mail gets bounced between my ISP mailserver which I use as smart host and between my server.The problem seems to be that my mail server won't accept any mail it is supposed to receive.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOk so I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 Server Edition. On the very first boot, everything seems to run perfectly. I can SSH into it from any remote computer with no problems. However, the installation of certain things calls for a system reboot, which 2 days ago never would have been a problem. But now for some reason, the SSH server only wants to work on the very first boot of a clean install. After I reboot it, I get the ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.180 port 22: No route to host error. The absurd part is sshd is running! I've even tried restarting sshd, restarting the server, and using both 64 and 32 bit installs. The only way I can get anything to connect to it is by using ssh localhost. It won't even let me connect using the IP on the local machine!

I am trying to set up sendmail on my intranet (home) webserver, so that it will send mail via my ISP. I have searched for similar threads including this thread, but the responses do not seem to have solved the problem. All I want is to call sendmail from Perl, to post myself the responses to a test form I am building, using my normal internet mail address. I do not want to receive or relay mail from any host except the web server itself (127.0.0.1).
I have edited sendmail.mc to define SMART_HOST as my isp's mail server and MASQUERADE_AS to be my local network name (which is not a registered domain - it is just the name I have given my home intranet). I have run make and built a fresh sendmail.cf, then restarted sendmail.
Using my form, I am able to submit the message to sendmail, but after 40 seconds the mail log shows a message
