Programming :: Conversion From Infix To Postfix And Compilation Of Postfix For Eval
May 11, 2010
I was trying to write a graph plotting program with c++. I need to convert the infix expression from user to postfix expression for quick evaluation. However, the evaluation of postfix is kind of interpreted, and thus kind of slow for evaluating huge number of values. Say if I plot an implicit function the penalty is quite huge. Is there a way that I can compile the infix expression from my running graph plotting application for high speed evaluation.
make install then i got this error: postfix: fatal: chdir(/usr/libexec/postfix): No such file or directory make: *** [install] Error 1 I don't understand why it's checking the usr/libexec folder for the daemons although I've set the folder to /opt/product/postfix-2.6.5/libexec in the makefile. Here is also the cat of my makedefs.out:
is there any HOWTO for configuring Webmin Postfix server with multiple postfix virtual hosts? Seems to be a tough challenge to set it up without any easy manual..
so i set out to change the default smtp port the server uses because my ISP blocks port 25 and i need the email to work in outlook. this morning i could receive email, but not send it. so i did some research and thought that i needed to edit the master.cf file in /etc/postfix/ by commenting out this line: smtp inet n - n - - smtpd -oand replace it with587 inet n - n - - smtpd (587 being the port i want to use)somewhere along the lines postfix server stopped running and now i cannot get it to start.if i try using SSH it crashes immediately and if i restart it in simple control panel nothing happens
I recently moved over user from an old box running postfix(v 2.0.16) over to rhel 6 running postfix (v mail_version = 2.6.6). ive tried to make sure all the files are of correct permissions and that the main.cf file is configured corectly. However there is something wrong as when i run postfix: service postfix server i get no error but when checking the status:service postfix status i get: master dead but pid file exists Looking into /var/log/mailog i find this line being the issue:
I have isntalled a server with Centos 5.2 OS, now I would like to switch from the default sendmail to postfix doing a yum install postfix I've noticed there is already available an rpm version for the OS but I would like to compile my own 2.5 version, I've noticed compiling from source does not allow me to use the mail switcher to tell to the system I'm gonna use Postfix instead of Sendmail as the default MTA while this is possible when I use the "official" rpm version of the package. Now my question is this, would this be a problem? There is some specific procedure/best practice I should follow? Or once compiled and configured Postfix I can safely disable/uninstall sendmail?
Having a problem with an unwanted redirection in in a function call. Although this isn't the function it does illustrate the problem:
Code: #!/bin/bash doat () { ALL="sys1 sys2" for Sys in $ALL;do echo "---> $Sys <---"; echo $(eval echo $1);
[Code]...
figure out how to get the variable into the command without outputting to the file in the eval statement? So that ssh line that gets executed would look like the following to each iteration of the for loop:
Code: ssh root@$Sys rpm -qa|sort > /trans/${Sys}-rpm-list.txt; doat works when the incoming argument doesn't have any redirection in the command.
I am trying to install postfix but i'm having problems I run this command
sudo apt-get install postfix
and it downloads, does something else and in the terminal window I see a list of options and OK at the bottom. The problem is becuase it opens in a terminal window, i can't select an option. It is like a picture and nothing else. I've read loads of instructions and they all say to choose an option but i haven't got a choice. How can i get postfix to install so i can make a selection? Would it be worth using Synaptics and if so what packages do i download? Just noticed, the package configuration screen is nothing like i've seen on other sites with how-tos. The screen I get shows a description and there is no cancel option.
I have a postfix relay running in RHEL 5. It serves as an SMTP server. Mail traffic is delivers to the exchange server/Active directory system that is handled by another admin. So far postfix serves [URL] I am asked if it's possible to configure the same server to relay inbound and outbound email for the domain [URL]
I am studying Debian, the postfix service this night cannot send and recevied outside email, internal work fine, i check the log found is show "no space left device"
I installed webmin + postfix + dovecot + sasl2-bin to get a webserver running. I have fixed all the problems, but there is still one. I am totally new to sasl, so I am sorry if I made a stupid mistake.

Thunderbird gives the following error when trying to send mail: Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to the SMTP server mail.virovene.org was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again later or contact your network administrator. mail.err Apr 28 23:33:18 virovene postfix/smtpd[6264]: fatal: no SASL authentication mechanisms
I run a Windows based e-mail server and looking at moving my new server to Debian, however, this following problem might stop that, so I am hoping someone can help me out - I cannot receive mail.I have installed 'postfix' via Synaptic Package Manager.During installation, I was to choose a general type of mail configuration. I select "Internet Site" as this is what it is.I was then asked to input a system mail name. I used my IPv4 address (I will be hosting multiple domains).
browser just crashed trying to upload the config file at the end, so I fi miss something, sorry.I have been trying over the past few days to get either postfix or sendmail to properly forward my emails. I have made an entry in virtusers (for both postfix and sendmail) as:[URL]..I know that they these files are mapped correctly because I did an entry of:[URL].. that worked, it sent it to root's mailbox. I got this to work in both sendmail of postfix. What the problem is that when I point it to an external domain (ex. name@gmail.com), it fails, and the email gets lost somewhere on my server (I have yet to fine where they are going). The other thing I noticed is when I send an email from my server (via php) and send it to test (or whatever)@example.com the catchall works, and sends the email to my gmail address. Is this virtuser only applicable for outgoing email? Or is something else wrong?
I have configured Postfix, mysql and Dovecot according to following guide. [URL] My issue is When I'm Install dovecot ( using yum command). it Didn't create a "/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver" folder. Then my mail.log trace this error message
Code:
May 27 16:36:02 localhost pipe[26056]: fatal: pipe_command: execvp /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver: No such file or directory May 27 16:36:02 localhost postfix/pipe[26055]: CE9768FED3: to=<john@example.com>, relay=dovecot, delay=26, delays=26/0.02/0/0.02, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (temporary failure. Command output: pipe: fatal: pipe_command: execvp /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver: No such file or directory ) After that I have create "/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver' folder. Then I have set permission using follwing command.
I was never confident with postfix, but used it for several years now on my own server. I even noted the exact config used. But my old server crashed and I have to build fast a news one and I don't receive mails anymore. Here is the log message when trying to send to me from gmail:
Jun 4 08:06:34 ks3095514 postfix/smtpd[4008]: connect from mail-pw0-f50.google.com[209.85.160.50] Jun 4 08:06:34 ks3095514 postfix/smtpd[4008]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from mail-pw0-f50.google.com[209.85.160.50]: 554 5.7.1 <jdd@dodin.net>: Relay access denied; from=<lesrevesdeness@gmail.com> to=<jdd@dodin.net> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail-pw0-f50.google.com> Jun 4 08:06:35 ks3095514 postfix/smtpd[4008]: disconnect from mail-pw0-f50.google.com[209.85.160.50]
The main.cf file is the openSUSE default one (see below). Part of my problems seems to come from the reverse. I *could once* receive one test messsage to " ks3095514.kimsufi.com" (the default reverse/domain name) (below, commented out), but not for my own domain (dodin.org). Most of the time the only necessary lines are mydomain, myhostname, myorigin and mydestination, but this don't work anymore. New defaults??. local (from and to the server) mail works, root can send to jdd and I read it from home.
I have a netbook running opensuse 11.2 I'm trying to make it run faster by disabling services, and I would like to kill off postfix as I don't ever use it (As far as i actually know) What harm could come from disabling postfix, if any?
I'm wondering if it's possible to create mail packages and put them into the postfix queue simply by writing files to the hard drive.Currently I have a script which uses a socket connection to dump the data in, but if I could write it directly to the hard drive this would speed things up considerably. Is this possible?
I have a postfix server running on a virtual machine hosted by vpslink.com. I have followed the following configuration guide to install the system with dovecot, sasl smtpd authentication, and postfix as an mta: [URL](I know it says it's a debian configuration, but it seemed legitimate that I could follow it). Anyway, in sending email from my primary email account, I have found that roughly 1/2 of the messages are delivered, and 1/2 of them are rejected with a message similar to the following:
i'm not a techie but have tried my best to solve the issue without success. I have a static IP from local ISP and my computer is configured with 192.168.1.2 (LAN IP).
I have installed ubuntu server 9.04 and want to send emails from my server for which I've configured postfix. But I dont know what to do next.
My questions are:
1. Do i need to install DNS server for using postfix? If not, what should I install to send emails from this server?
2. Do I need to forward any particular port in my router?
3. If I dont have a fully qualified domain, what are the configurations I need to do to send emails?
I get this error in my apache error.log file whenever i call the php mail() function. I can send mail from the system and i have updated the php.ini files mail path to /etc/postfix but i still get this error
error.log has this line after each call to php's mail() function sh: /etc/postfix: Permission denied
I'm running Postfix primarily as a local email server. There is no email coming in from other machines, and there are no other machines using it to send mail. But I'd like it to be able to send mail. I use Evolution for my normal email stuff, and it's configured to send mail to my ISP's smtp server, and that's working fine. But I occasionally send mail from the command line, using the "mail" or "mutt" utilities. (Mutt because the standard mail doesn't support attachments.) These don't use Evolution's configuration, they depend upon whatever is listening to port 25 - and that's Postfix. So all I should need to do is to give Postfix the smtp server, user name, and password. My problem is that Postfix has voluminous documentation online, and I haven't been able to find this simple configuration in it.
