I had declared jk in temp1.h as an extern int so why can I not initialize it in temp2.c?
I can't remember what it's called, but this feature of VC++ basically catalogs all the functions of a project, lets you right click on a function and go directly to it's declaration or definition, do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars. it also gives you an info bubble of the variable types as you're typing a function's name.
this is a very convenient feature, and I'd like to use it with KDevelop, or really any full C++ IDE for linux. does such a thing exist?
I have the plugin installed ok and have pasted in a C source file that I know works and am getting the following errors, I think because the linker options need to be set in some way. I cannot copy the errors but they all complain of implicit declaration of functions like this: -

We have a file that declares many environmental variables. Out of which I have doubt on few. These variables are declared in UNIX environment. We are planing to migrate them along with applications to Linux.

I am trying to enable DHCP so that it will give out IP's to some XP boxes when they boot. I have had success doing it dynamically, but not statically using the host declaration.

My question is, what should the subnet declaration be if I only want to hand out static IP's like this? Also, the host is the same name that is specified in /etc/hosts correct?

I'm trying to compile a main.c file that contains a while statement. Embedded in the while statement are functions that are being called. After the while statement, I have 2 more functions being called, one to find the average(getaverage), and one to print the results (printstuff). I also used a header file (my.h) that contains all of the needed #define and #include, along with each of the void function() statements.
There isn't any problems with the while statement/ the functions in while, but when I try and compile main.c I get the following errors:
main.c error: conflicting types for 'getaverage'
my.h error: previous declaration of 'getaverage'
and then the same thing for 'printstuff'
I am porting a code which ran on HP unix to CentOS. It was a working code and compiled with gcc3.1.x and a c++ file and now I tried to compile with gcc3-3.4.6 and gcc4-4.2.4 also. But still I get this conflicts in declaration error as pasted below.

I think there is a problem with front-slash but not sure how to resolve it.
I am downloading online videos with a bash script this is the code of script test.sh:

The while loop read the videos url from the urls file and parse them to the wget for dwonlaod, i write the wget for easy of exmple in this code otherwise i use another script to downlaod the embed videos , the code

Edit: Oops. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I meant to post it in the general forums, yet somehow it ended up here. It kind of fits here as well I guess. I am currently trying to move my career forward and am not having much luck. So I've come to see if any of you can offer some fresh advice to help me out.
Let me tell you first where I stand in my career to give you an idea of where I'm starting from. I am currently 26 years old and have recently graduated with a bachelors of computer science from university. I would call myself an average student, nothing special, nor anything horrible. Out of university this landed me an ok job as a PHP developer. However I dont want to stagnate in this position scripting junk all day and not ever challenge myself. not to mention i could certainly rant for a while on the things that fall short at my current position (read: being banned from object oriented programming because the boss cant understand it)
I'd like to find a job that (1) challenges me just the right amount to help me learn and grow but not get overwhelmed in a language I enjoy (hopefully such as C/C++/Java or the like)
(2) is at a company with at least some software design process implemented (agile,xp,etc)and if that is to much to ask, then I'd at least like to move in that direction. So that is what I am looking towards and I would love any advice on how to achieve that. Maybe some of you were in my position 5 or 10 years ago and could shed some light on the subject. I've scoured the internet for job postings that offer what I am looking for, but they are really hard to find. The postings are usually looking for senior or intermediate level programmers with at least 5+ years of experience, or looking for web development script monkeys to make "The next big facebook app" (the job I already have)
I've also considered attending conferences and such, but have never really been, and wouldn't know what to do, or where to even find out about them (I used to see postings every now and then at university, but now I live in a small town.)
I am working for a product which was evolved over a decade. There I have some combination of C style coding and C++ coding in same libraries. I am landing on some instances where C style function is expecting forward declarations for some other function for which I can not declare (due to design and architecture). Is there any g++ compiler option that directs the g++ to look whole preprocessed file (because definition is there down in the preprocessed file) than only forward in the preprocessed file. All these years this code is working as we are using CC compiler and that looks entire preprocessed file than only in the forward direction.

The install procedure gets to the partition menu, and there it stays. all my menu options are dimmed out and I have the choice to cancel move forward or back up. Moving forward gives me the error, "Root menu not defined.." or something like that..
It has created a mutliple boot system though.. so now I can choose.. it must have installed via a live session I did prior with the cd..
I understand that block_device pointer *bd sholuld get initialized. Program should produce initialization error for *bd. Compiler is producing '->'. I am not understanding why?

I have two IP address on my iMac I want to "bridge". I'm not sure what the proper terminology is... here's the situation.
My iMac has a firewire connection to my laptop and an ethernet connection to the rest of my office. My laptop has an ip of 192.168.100.2 (on the firewire interface). My iMac has an IP of 192.168.100.1 on the firewire interface, and two IPs, 10.1.0.6 and 10.1.0.7, on it's ethernet interface.
If I wanted to forward all traffic coming in from 192.168.100.2 on my OS X machine to go out on IP 10.1.0.7, and vice-versa, can this be done? I assume I would use the ipfw command.
Essentially I want to "bridge" the firewire network to the ethernet network so my laptop can see all the machines on the 10.1 network, and all those machines can see my laptop at 10.1.0.7. Is this possible?
I tried following the instructions below but I don't see the "Automatically map port" option. What am I missing here??[URL]
