Programming :: __attribute__ ((constructor)) Function Does Not Execute

Mar 16, 2011

My setup is Ubuntu 10.04, eclipse 3.5.2 I have created the source for a shared object and a test program to test it. The program executes dlopen() and I get back a valid library handle. I can use that handle and dlsym() to get the address of my C exported functions just as I expect. I recently added a change to have the so instantiate an object at load time by using a __attribute__ ((constructor)) function named so_init(). I also added a main() function (one wasn't required before). Adding a bunch of printf()s and using the debugger in eclipse I watch the code run and the so_init() and main() functions are never called. As far as I can tell, eclipse has -shared, -fPIC and -Wl setup and specified correctly. Am I missing a compile/link flag? Is there some magic I need in the so_main.cpp to get this working. I have this written as dual source code. The same code works quite nicely in Windows which calls dllMain() as expected.

Programming :: Nested Loop Using A Counter To Increment Array Output?

Feb 2, 2011

I work in a simulations environment. I'm trying to write a bash script that will read fields from a .csv file into an array, the first field being an identifiyng number and the second field being a corresponding url. There are about 1600 of these number/url combinations in the .csv file that i'm reading from. Once that is done i want it to parse a text file and match the number, when it has a match i want it to enter the corresponding url into a particular line in the text file. The script I have written (with the help of the people on this forum a while back) does this well, but now I have a lot more data to parse. I think the script itself is explanatory enough to see what i'm doing. What i would like to do is cut it down to one while loop nested inside another loop so that I don't have 1600 or so elif statements. I can't figure out how to increment the output of the array. for instance, the first cycle would find the number that matches ${record1[2]} and input the url stored in ${record1[3]}. the next cycle would match ${record1[4]} and input the url in ${record1[5]}, and so on, does that make sense? The code is below and a sample .csv and text file are attached.

Programming :: Passing Data Between Php And C

Aug 21, 2010

I'm trying to work out the best way to achieve the following.

1)php page that grabs data from a local database. (not a problem)

2)It then needs to send this data to a c program/service running on a remote server. (I probably need it to be able to handle 4+ million reocrds in an array)

3) The c service then needs to process the data and send it back to the initial php script that called it. i was hoping this could be in a an array like structure of some kind. 4)update the db with the results.

I was thinking of using gsoap to write a simple c soap service that php can communicate with. Would this be the right way of doing this or would something like sockets in php be a better way of sending this volume of data as an array or struct to linux c socket if thats even possible.

I've had to do some code in java, a language I'm very much unfamiliarly with so please excuse my incorrect use of terms. The basic outline of my problem is I create a class object as a local within a swing button function it works fine. If I create it as a global ( with I think I need to do ) within main, then prototype it with the other swing objects at the bottom of the file when it is called it causes a host of problems. I think the easiest way is to show it.

Problem is my arraylist "cannot be resolved" from guiclass.
