Programming :: Include Boost In Eclipse Project?

Dec 14, 2010

I'm using Eclipse to build a small c++ program using boost.

Code:

#include<iostream>
#include<string>
#include <boost/regex.hpp>

[code]....

I can right click on boost::regex and it takes me to the header file regex_fwd.hpp, but when I go to build it, it gives me the error:

Code:

DescriptionResourcePathLocationType
/usr/include/boost/regex/v4/basic_regex.hpp undefined reference to `boost::basic_regex<char, boost::regex_traits<char, boost::cpp_regex_traits<char> >

[code]...

Programming :: Adding Source To C Project To Include Mysql.h = New Errors?

Jul 14, 2009

I am trying to modify the source code of a C application (quagga) in order to insert data into a mysql table. I have added 2 new source files to the source (neto_mysql, neto_trend) which in turn use mysql.h. I have also modified the Makefile.am file to include the /usr/include/mysql directory.

When trying to compile, i get the following error. What am I missing? I have minimal experience with formal C applications like this. I feel like I may also have to include the mysql.h file in the libbgp? I dont understand why it cant find the mysql functions...

Code:

if gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DSYSCONFDIR="/usr/local/etc/" -I. -I. -I.. -I.. -I.. -I../lib -I/usr/include/mysql/ -fPIE -Os -fno-omit-frame-pointer -g -std=gnu99 -Wall -Wsign-compare -Wpointer-arith -Wbad-function-cast -Wwrite-strings -Wmissing-prototypes

Fedora :: Attempted To Create A New Java Project In Eclipse?

Jan 11, 2010

I recently installed Fedora 12 and attempted to create a new java project in Eclipse.I used the 'eclipse' command in the terminal to start eclipse. It starts fine, however, there is no 'java project' option after choosing 'File->New Project'. Only CVS and General projects. I am not experienced enough in programming to understand the relevance/usage of either of these project modes, and only want to be able to write java programs in Eclipse.

Also, does the eclipse that is run from the terminal support c++ development? I have attempted to download eclipse for C++/C developers, but cannot get it to run. Which eclipse is running when I type 'eclipse' in the terminal? Is there a way to make it so I don't have to run this command from the terminal to load eclipse?

Programming :: Programming Languages For Project Euler / Additional Ideas?

Jun 28, 2009

I've been working in the real world for a year making some money to go back and finish my masters, and now I'm coming to the end of my contract and am realising how little i remember and how small my scope has become; i basically do shell scripts and perl these days, and its making me uneasy. So instead of bitching about it , I'm going to endevor to complete Project Euler Using randomly generated programming languages for each problem, selected from

And post the fruits of my attempts at my blog (shameless plug) aswell as opening up my svn repository when I'm done. (altho i need to ask in another thread about svn permissions....)To my shame i havent ever touched C#, JavaScript, Ruby or Python, so all in all its going to be very interesting how much i screw up.Anyone have any additional ideas, or languages I'm missing or such? I was considering TCL or Haskell or Erlang at a strech, but i dont know how useful these three would be.

Programming :: Using GPL Artwork In My Project

Nov 5, 2010

I have project released under GPL. I have found an icon (.png) I want to use in it that also has a GPL license. What do I have to do, if anything, to use it legally? It's "just an icon", and while it represents a significant amount of work on someone's part, it doesn't come with any source code or embedded licenses that I can just copy and include with my project files. I'm sure I can use it because it's GPL and my project is GPL.

That's what GPL was designed for, but I don't want anyone to think I'm claiming I designed it or that I took it without giving proper credit. I just reread the GPL, and it looks like I can do anything I want with it as long as I don't restrict anyone else from doing the same and if I were to modify it, I'd have to put a notice "somewhere" (but where would that be for an icon?) acknowledging that modification. I don't see anything that would make me actually mention it at all in my documentation, etc. as long as I pass it along unmodified.

Programming :: Way To Add Some Sort Of I-/usr/include Commands

I'm learning GTK , and would like to use Codeblocks, and/or KDEvelop, and compile my c files using that, but always get an error about gtk/gtk.h not found, but can't figure out how to add the commands... I normally type gcc -o Program1 main.c `pkg-config --libs --cflags gtk+-2.0` That's a lot to type every time to compile.. Isn't there an easier way, in KDevelop, Monodevelop, and/or Codeblocks to make this step quicker, by adding some sort of I-/usr/include commands, or something?? thanks in advance, =). I looked online for some results, but didn't come across anything handy..

Programming :: Include - H Files From Dir Inside Dir?

Feb 2, 2011

Basically I have a dir that contains my makefile and another directory inside this called source this holds main source files. External to these I have a couple of dirs common and drives.

In my make file I use

To include the protoypes from the headers in the folders common and drivers used by source, this works fine. However in common and drivers I use a few variables that are set in the source dir. I set these with externs inside the common and driver files. However I'm sure I should be able to set the directory path for source inside my makefile. So say I have inside source hardware.h with prototypes, I set DINCDIR = -I/Source -I../Drivers -I../CommonFiles

Then from a c file inside my common folder I say #include "hardware.h" the file should be able to see hardware.h and it's protoypes. However I get:

Is there some way I can get the extern dirs to see the source dir?

The set out is something like;

Programming :: Cmake: Using Find_package(Boost) When FindBoost.cmake Is Not In The Default Location?

Feb 23, 2010

I am attempting to compile some code on a cluster where I do not have root access (and is missing many of the libraries I want), and hence have had to create local builds of the boost and opencv libraries (i.e. in /home/username/usr/local). In particular, my cmake depends on:

Code:

find_package(boost)

which my normal development machine finds in:

Code:

/usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindBoost.cmake

On the cluster I have a version of FindBoost.cmake at:

Code:

/home/username/cmake_modules

How can I tell CMake to look for FindBoost.cmake in that directory, since neither the cmake file, nor the boost install is in the standard location? I've modified the FindBoost.cmake file to make it search in the locally installed boost libraries.
