Programming :: How To Use X86 To Build Assemly Program For Arm Machine?
Apr 14, 2011
my build machine is x86 machine that is running ubuntu10.04, my target machine is tegra2 that is running on Andrioid, I wish my program can run under shell of android, as first step , I wrote a simplest assembly program which does nothing, but I got a link error, can somebody help me?
im trying to build a simple program for my C programming class, this is the source code
#include <stdio.h> int main() { int length, width, length, height, area, perimeter; perimeter = width + length + height; area = width * length + heigth;
[Code]...
i dont see any error (you might)but every time i run it it runs but after it asks me to input for the width i do it but it doesn't take me to the length, it just stays blank until i input another value in the same place for the width, it asks me for 4 inputs in total i don;t know why, and after i run it different times it gives me different values for the perimeter and are. how can I fix this?
I'm trying to build a spi program using c++. I'm able to perform half-duplex transfers using the read/write functions, it works perfectly. Now I need to perform a full-duplex transfer, but I'm facing some problems. When I try to receive more than one byte, the slave returns to me only one byte.Ex: I send: FF FF FF FF FF The slave must return: 03 02 00 13 04 But what is happening is:
I am new to the whole concept of makefiles, and I'm trying to compile and build my program using a makefile template I have found. My project consists of three directories: "source", where my .cpp files are (source1.cpp, source2.cpp, source3.cpp), "include", where my .h files are (header1.h, header2.h, header3.h), and "obj", where the object files are to be stored (obj1.o, obj2.o, obj3.o). In the project root directory is my makefile, which is as follows:
Code: EXEC = myexe CC = g++ IDIR = include SDIR = source ODIR = obj
I have built an Ubuntu 8.10 server machine with great agony as I have no internet. I need to make another machine and install the same software packages. I already have the packages I need. What do I need to copy from the first machine so that the second machine will install these packages? I'm not referring to the packages themselves (I can copy them over and install them). I need to get the apt database in synch with the first machine. I assume that apt has some sort of database files? Without that configuration, the damn machine keeps trying to connect to the internet.
AFAIK, in addition to implementing the standard C library, glibc provides wrappers for system calls, threading support, and basic application facilities. So because of that, glibc that will be used on my target system should be built based on the kernel version running on my target, right?
Based on the above, I am trying to build a glibc version for my target machine's kernel. However, I don't know to to build a glibc library for a target system and also where on the target's filesystem should be put? In which location Linux will start looking for the libraries required for a program to run (should I create an /etc/ld.so.conf file)?
I'd like to build a .deb file which will contain my Perl program. I just want it to be deployed with dpkg -i on debian systems later. So it's just a matter of having the good arborescence in my .deb package. For that purpose, in the debian/rules file, I'm declaring some dh_install lines in the install rule.
My issue is that I know how to achieve my goal, but only with writing a ton of dh_install lines (one line, for one file...)
example : clean: dh_testdir dh_clean install: build
I want to build deb packages for two versions of same product that can be installed on the machine simultaneously. The source folder structure for both the packages have a common folder needed by both the versions. So i need to keep the common folder till both the versions are removed from the machine.My problem is that i can't install both the versions at the same time, i.e i have to uninstall the installed version and then install the other version. After installing one version, if i try to install another version, an overwrite error comes up. is there any option in dpkg for overwrite? Or is there any way to partially uninstall a deb package?
I'm trying to install a box with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server with a typical LAMP system in order to replace my old Ubuntu 8.04 server I have at my school to have a "backup" system and also trying to replace NIS authentication with LDAP. Well I'm getting stuck on the first step: installation of base system.
I want to build a RAID-1 system with the two 320GB SATA HD's the machine has, I have a little experience in installing RAID because I installed my old 8.04 server with RAID-1 aswell.
I boot my box from an USB stick with Ubuntu 10.04 Server 64bit, the systems boots well, asks me about language, keyboard and so, finds the two NIC cards and the DHCP configuration of one of the card is done. Then it starts the partitioner.
One of the HD's already contains three partitions with an installation of a regional flavour of Ubuntu, the other HD only contains a partition for backups, I don't want to preserve all this stuff, so the first thing I do is to replace the partiton tables of both HD's with a new one. This is done without problems.
Then I go to the first disk, by example, and create a new partition, the partitioner ask me for the size, I write 0.5 GB (or 500 MB), then I select that it has to be a Primary partition at the beginning of the disk, all goes OK. Once created I go to the "Use as: " line, type Enter and select the option "Partition for RAID volume", when I hit Enter the error appears: the screen flickers in black for a second or two, then it shows a progress bar "Starting the partitioner..." THAT ALWAYS GET STUCK AT 47%!!!
Sometimes the partitioner allows me progress a little further (for ex. lets me activate the boot bit of the partition, or it allows me to make another partiton, even once the error didn't appeared until the first partiton of the second HD!!) but it always get stuck with the same progress bar at the 47%.
I've tried a lot of things: I downloaded again the ISO and rebuilt the USB, same result. Downloaded the ISO and rebuilt the USB from another computer, same result. Unplugged all the SATA and IDE drives except the two HD's, same result. Built a CD-ROM instead of an USB, same result. Downloaded the 10.10 server ISO (not an LTS), and the USB stick can't boot, is another error, but only to try.
I have a log file and there are many different types of exception in this file. These could be looked as follow:
Code:
One can see there two types of exceptions: ORGNoCompetenceException and SocketException.
I will filter out the name/type of exception and the number of each type of exception. At last, this statistic data will write to file and create a Excel table.
I would like to build a bootable system image on an attached hard disk on a running CentOS machine.The hard disk would be moved to a headless server, where only SSH access would be available. It seems that all the documented install methods assume that the installation runs on the taget machine. In this case, I would like to create a bootable system image of CentOS on a running host system. The new install mage would generally have a newer version of CentOS than the running host system where the image is created. Also, I would prefer to do a text-based install.
The reason for all this is that I have network access to several remote machines. I can ask disks to be moved between machines, but I have no physical access. In order to do software testing, I would like to have several system disks with different installed CentOS versions. It would be easer if I could build the system disks on one single machine. The hardware an all machines is very nearly identical.
I'm tring to run AMDOverdriveCtrl, since they don't have an RPM file for Fedora i tried to compile from source i followed the instruction in the readme files run the make command
and tried to run the application, and i get this error message
Code:
$ AMDOverdriveCtrl Fatal Error: Mismatch between the program and library build versions detected.
The library used 2.8 (no debug,Unicode,compiler with C++ ABI 1002,wx containers,compatible with 2.4,compatible with 2.6), and your program used 2.8 (no debug,Unicode,compiler with C++ ABI 1002,wx containers,compatible with 2.6).
How can we build a packet using C?we have a structure called sockaddr_in which is use to for IPv4,so that we can define address,port and etc in this way:

I am trying to run open a GUI program on a remote Ubuntu machine using ssh.
I want to open, lets say firefox or skype, on a machine I have connected to via ssh. But when writing logging in with user2 and writing sudo -u user1 firefox I get an error message saying no display specified.
The machine is turned on and logged in with user1, it just appears that i cant get ubuntu to recognize that there is a GUI available.
I'm trying to install the Unix version of Rapidshare manager on an Ubuntu VPS I have .. The installation script is this: [URL]... I have two Ubuntu VPS machines .. On the first one, after chmod'ing the program installs fine, however on this other VPS, after chmod'ing and running the script I get this error:
Code: Starting Installer . Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":1.0". Could not deteremine disk space: Cannot run program "df": java.io.IOException: error=12, Cannot allocate memory The the installer's GUI comes up, I go through the program, and although it says that its installed, its really not Also, 'df' command runs fine on this Ubuntu VPS, and shows tons of available disk space, so I don't know what's the problem
we're throwing away a fax machine we have been using for a while but now we want to know if we can use the computer to send faxes over an internet connection of a telephone connection (it doesn't matter we're willing to hook them up to both) is there freeware that can send like an openoffice text document to a fax machine or a pdf. and is there a way to recieve faxes by having the computer recieve them and making the printer print it
I'm trying to setup tools for developing android apps on my Debian Wheezy (backport) system. Eclipse with android plugins is installed. Android SDK installed using android-sdk_r22.6.2-linux.tgz available from URL...My problem is I can't build the android app. The console in Eclipse tells me something (translated) like this;
Code: Select all[2014-05-30 16:36:45 - adb] Unexpected exception 'Cannot run program "/usr/lib/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb": java.io.IOException: error=2, No such file or directory' while attempting to get adb version from '/usr/lib/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools/adb'
I have searched the web quite extensively but found no solution. It seems the issue may be due to I'm having a 64bit system but building the app requires some 32bit stuff.Some older posts suggest adding package by "apt-get install ia32-libs". In later posts (i.e. URL....
i am trying to create an exclude regular expression for my build.xml. The problem is, that i am trying to find some info on which REs are acceptable/valid for ant... Is ant using standard regular expressions? POSIX ones? Since it is a java-based tool, the "Java REs" are probably valid. I am a little bit confused. If somebody can help me out with the different RE standards, i would be most obliged.
I've spent all day trying to figure how to write an ant build.xml file for eclipse. I must have read 20 sites on the web but some how I just am missing it I continue to get the error
Code: /home/knox/workspace/HW/src/projectBuilder.xml:5: the file attribute is required here is my file at this point after many variations Code: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

It works fine if I leave out the Main-Class line in manifest but then the jar is not executable Dick
I need to create a SW project both for Windows (written with MS Visual Studio 2005) and Linux. Currently I have a build script for windows and another for Linux. I would like to build the project for both platforms on a single PC. Is there a way of building VS2005 projects with Linux (not using Cmake)?
Im trying to build parted 2.3, but I always end-up in the same error:
Code: In file included from arch/linux.c:42: /usr/include/scsi/scsi.h:152: error: expected specifier-qualifier-list before 'u8' /usr/include/scsi/scsi.h: In function 'scsi_varlen_cdb_length': /usr/include/scsi/scsi.h:163: error: 'struct scsi_varlen_cdb_hdr' has no member named 'additional_cdb_length'
I want to download Remmina Remote Desktop Client on a computer without an Internet connection, I have tried the option "download package files only" in synaptic but I can't see where the files are being installed to.
I am trying to build a 2D plot for my data and I have the code for it. However, I want to save it as a jpg/png file so that I can have a link to it for my webpage. Below is the code:
I'm sure this has been covered somewhere before, but I couldn't find anything and so figured I would post here. I have been using Linux OSes for the past couple of years and also using GCC/G++ for application development. However, I have almost always been on x86 systems and never gained much experience using the wide range of optimization options available.
My question is, if I do not specify the -march=PROCTYPE option, will GCC still be able to detect the current architecture and build the code accordingly? I primarily ask this because I am working with an x86_64 system, and specifying -march=x86_64 in my makefiles generates errors about it being an unknown processor type, even though the CPU and OS are X86_64. I know this sounds like a newbie question, but it's just ground I've never had to cover before until now.
I have downloaded whole linux source codes of fedora in a dvd. There are several rpm packages and lots of directories in it. I want to load all source codes to version control system (svn or cvs) which is loacated in a server and develop it step by step .During this time I want to build my own distribution. So I need to know how to build all these packages at once. Is there anyone who can explain "how to do" to me
