Since yesterday, I cant use firefox anymore. When I launch it, It appears half a second and close. I tried to remove it in yast, then install again. No result.

I just got Ubuntu installed and I cannot view video from any webpage. I have adobe downloaded and active, I even downloaded google chrome, I have all popupblockers turned off and still nothing.

KompoZer, Opera, and Firefox all ignore it. However, any <font /> tag I use works with no problems What's really maddening is that I copied the file to the windows side and IE works wonderfully with the same file although Firefox still ignores it! I keep windows around for One and only one program - tomtom. I would cry at mozilla except that the same problem is occuring in those other non-mozilla programs.

If I close FF and restart, more often than not it does (same target image, natch) Anyone else have any experience here? I have tried the "advanced options" in java script under edit> prefs, but the problem persists. Would there be any point in starting from CLi and looking at/posting the output?

When I begin to use Mozilla Firefox (version automatically installed with OpenSUSE 11.3) the cursor freezes or locks up (when I move the mouse/cursor-pointer), and the only way I can do anything is turn off the computer and start over (to no avail, because it does the same thing within a a minute or so after entering Mozilla Firefox. I did not have this problem with OpenSUSE 11.2.

randomly firefox (3.59) will not close properly, using the x button will remove it from my de, but it will keep running in the background, and i cant reopen it, receiving a message stating that another ff session is still running. i have to kill its pid id manually. not a big deal but... any idea? View 1 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded from 9.04 to 10.04 and so far I have those problems:
1. Before, everything in my system was in English. Now, half is in English, half in another language (PCManFM, some menus etc). I tried setting up Language Support but it changes nothing.
2. Cursor themes work only when hovering the mouse over "X" buttons in the right top corner of the window. As soon as I move the mouse somewhere else, it goes back to default cursor theme, even though I tried selecting 5 different themes - same result.
4. Hibernation don't work anymore. s2disk saves image to disk and then it resumes it but computer stops on text message along the lines of "Resume completed successfully".
5. Changing volume with keyboard shotcuts no longer works.
6. Smplayer does not display picture anymore when playing movies. The view is just empty. I can only hear the soundtrack. It is using XV filter.
7. PCmanFM that used to worked flawlessly, now after going into 1 or 2 subdirectories stops reacting to clicks on file/folder list. Need to open new instance to be able to do anything and this again would become unusable after visiting 1-2 folders.

View 14 Replies View Relatedhow to install firefox 3.6 on my 9.1 ubuntu. About adding various repository and the a sudo apt get and all that. I can do it that way, and I am sure it will work.
What stop me to just download the .deb package from mozilla for the version I want and install it? Will it be less integrated to the system, will it not be compatible with my 64bit ubuntu? I just find it so much simpler to download a package from the web and double click on it than going through terminal, yet no-one seems to propose this option.
I installed Ubuntu 10.04. Prior to this I had been using Ubuntu 9.10. In 10.04 I am just unable to connect to the net using Mozilla FireFox. But otherwise, Update Manager, Google Chromium are all connecting smoothly. Which implies that there is nothing wrong with my internet connection. So now that this is a Mozilla FireFox problem.

It is extremely hard to get the latest builds. I don't even know what I had to wrestle through to get to 4.0.1, which is what I am on now. Tell me the super easy way. Mozilla is awful. Also, how can I get the new beta and aurora channel switcher? I believe I can only get it if I update to a newer version which is what I am trying to do now. It says to go to about and then click "change" which is not there. So Linux really shouldn't be this complicated and frustrating.

Now my system at 32 bit will be automatically update at the final release 3.6. What could happen on my system at 64 bit? Must i use the 3.7 beta since is available at 64 bit? I accidentally hit alt ctrl f11 and my comp went inyo the grub menu. I've tried startx and it does nothing. About half the commands I enter do nothing and the other half r not found or are incorrect. The only vommand thw actualley work is reboot. I searched for this and read a grub guide but it did no good.

I have installed the flash-plugin using yum. Restarted firefox but still not able to play ..... videos.
[root@saurav tonan]# yum install flash-plugin

Package flash-plugin-10.0.42.34-release.i386 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
But I am not able to see it in the plugins list, when I goto Tool >> add-ons >> plugins. I tried about login in the browser address bar, got the list, but its a lot of details, which one would tell me that the adobe flash player is installed. Later I downloaded the tar file and unzipped it and manually placed the .so file in the plugin folder as mentioned in the forums, but no luck.
