I have installed the flash-plugin using yum. Restarted firefox but still not able to play ..... videos.
[root@saurav tonan]# yum install flash-plugin
Loaded plugins: download only, presto, refresh-packagekit
Setting up Install Process
Package flash-plugin-10.0.42.34-release.i386 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
But I am not able to see it in the plugins list, when I goto Tool >> add-ons >> plugins. I tried about login in the browser address bar, got the list, but its a lot of details, which one would tell me that the adobe flash player is installed. Later I downloaded the tar file and unzipped it and manually placed the .so file in the plugin folder as mentioned in the forums, but no luck.

I tried installing the Flash Player. And pasted the "libflashplayer.so" file inside /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins directory. But still I am not able to play any video. Still gets the same message that, "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video. ".

Feb 1, 2010I can't get my Fedora 12 laptops to find bluetooth devices. In fact, I can't seem to get bluetooth working at all. This is happening with identical symptoms on two very different laptops, both of which had working bluetooth out-of-the-box with Fedora 10. Under Fedora 12 bluetooth silently fails and I have no idea how to debug it.
Here are the details:
- I'm running Fedora 12 on 32 and 64 bit machines. Both exhibit the same problem.
- I'm using KDE for both (this is the KDE spin of Fedora 12, the 32 and 64 bit versions)

So I think the right programs are running.
Using the system menus, I can click on "Kdebluetooth4" but nothing happens. There is no bluetooth icon in the system tray, nor have I been able to discover how to add one (I thought clicking Kdebluetooth4 would do that).
I can manually run kbluetooth-devicemanager from the command line, and attempt to look for devices. The devices are never found (they are found by a nearby Windows machine, so I know the devices work). There are no error messages in the GUI, or in /var/log/messages.
On the console, I do see these messages when I run kbluetooth-devicemanager and attempt to discover devices:

Based on Google searches, that would imply a problem with dbus (I think) but dbus appears to be installed and running.
Ubuntu :: Mozilla FireFox With HTML5 ?
May 3, 2010I'm fairly new to Linux and everything and still doesn't understand a lot of things about it. But as most of you may know that ..... is probably going to switch to HTML5 (so I heard) and I can not get Firefox to work with it. It is really annoying and I have flash player working but some videos require HTML5.

Aug 13, 2010This may (or may not) duplicate yester64's post but I'm trying to learn html and I've been going crazy with the <basefont /> tag. KompoZer, Opera, and Firefox all ignore it. However, any <font /> tag I use works with no problems What's really maddening is that I copied the file to the windows side and IE works wonderfully with the same file although Firefox still ignores it! I keep windows around for One and only one program - tomtom. I would cry at mozilla except that the same problem is occuring in those other non-mozilla programs.

What stop me to just download the .deb package from mozilla for the version I want and install it? Will it be less integrated to the system, will it not be compatible with my 64bit ubuntu? I just find it so much simpler to download a package from the web and double click on it than going through terminal, yet no-one seems to propose this option.

When I begin to use Mozilla Firefox (version automatically installed with OpenSUSE 11.3) the cursor freezes or locks up (when I move the mouse/cursor-pointer), and the only way I can do anything is turn off the computer and start over (to no avail, because it does the same thing within a a minute or so after entering Mozilla Firefox. I did not have this problem with OpenSUSE 11.2.

Jun 26, 2010I'm running 13.1 x86_64 on my laptop. Yesterday the first batch of security updates were released, which I installed without problems; however, I'm bugged by the fact that that the Firefox packages for 13.0 and 13.1 have the same name. (see below)
Updated package for Slackware x86_64 13.0:[URL].._slack13.0.txz Updated package for Slackware x86_64 13.1:[URL]..._slack13.0.txz They aren't the same file--their listed md5 hashes on ftp.slackware.com differ, plus I downloaded both packages and confirmed that both check against their respective listed hashes.
So...I suppose my question is this: Is this simply a mistake in naming, and if so, could it possibly produce a problem somehow?
