May 23, 2010after install the openSUSE 11.3 Milestone 7 64 Bit, i founda big problem, the webbrowser Firefox crashed allways,it can't not execute.

Aug 3, 2009I am running F11 and I want to mount an FTP, but when I try to connect to an ftp server using Places -> Connect to Server, or the bookmarks I made I get an error that says 'Failed to execute child process "/usr/lib/firefox-3.5/firefox" (No such file or directory)' and sometimes it mounts anyway, but most the time it doesn't, and it never connects to the folder I asked it to, I just have to open the mount and navigate to it. I figure this happened because Firefox upgraded to 3.5.1 and the folder is now /usr/lib/firefox-3.5.1/firefox, but I don't know how to update this so that it looks in the right location.

Mar 27, 2010I'm using Rhythmbox to manage my music collection. I have ripped my CDs into FLAC files. I'm using the Motorola Milestone (The Droid) as my music player and syncing it using Rhythmbox.
Now, when I transfer my music files from Rhythmbox to the Milestone, it automatically convert the FLAC files to MP3. But the conversion is set to 128Kps.
How do I change this default conversion rate? Or even, how do I change to another conversion format altogether?

Jun 8, 2010i was wondering if it is possible to run a program such as firefox or any other internet program as its own user (ie user firefox), but still in my desktop session, this way the program would have its own home folder and store all the data there, while i use it normally, i was trying to set the suid on the firefox binaries but then it doesn't starts at all.

When I want to connect, I have to type the WPA2 passhrase in, I do that correctly and then the system tries to conenct. For the x64 version i need to start skype with a bash command so that the video and sound works and i thougth that a simple batch in folder bin would solve it.
So that it gets executed automatically once the desktop loads. Seems it doesn't since i still have to do it manually.
How do i execute a batch automatically upon startup under KDE?

My data disk is a ext3 and the new system mounts it during boot.I can write to it but i can not execute programs from this partition.in fstab i can not find something like "noexec"permissions of mount folder looks ok for me. e.g. execute compiled "hello world"

Jan 27, 2010just now I had to restart it 10 times to get it to work accurately. with windows I think what I would do is uninstall firefox then reinstall it. will that work on linux as well?and what other ways can I debug/clean up this system a little better since it seems to not work the same as windows, although basically it's the same, just a little different, different type of file system, etc.
