The printer prints with ubuntu live cd. I deleted the printer from the list and I followed the instructions here. When I tried to print, sometimes it shows that the documents was printed (but my printer is standby) sometimes it shows the document failed.

I initially had a problem accessing the CUPS interface (see my other post) and got that resolved by adding the user "cupsys". Now, everything "looks" ok, and when I print a test page, it shows it as completed (in CUPS). However, the page never prints.
The printer is a Canon MP600 (using the canonmp600en.ppd file to configure it). Here's the output of my conf file.

My PDF's won't print anymore. They used too, but now all I get is a message that says, "document failed to print". Office docs print fine on the Canon Pixma i4300. I installed the CUPS PDF driver but it doesn't help. Acrobat won't initialize reliably in Firefox 5.0.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI cannot print pdf files. I have tried using okular and xpdf. The documents display in the program, but print preview shows a blank page. The printer then sends out blank pages. I have tried printing on 2 different printers using usb cables. Using terminal to process the commands shows error:

Our one remaining problem seems to be printing. She has an HP OfficeJet 6500 USB printer. We have the computer conntected. Strangely, when I boot from the CD the printer shows up as installed even though I did nothing to install it. After having submitted a print job it shows the printer status as "idle" and the print queue is empty. I tried deleting that printer and re-installing. The installation went as one would expect. However the results are the same. I'm beginning to think that somehow the problem is related to the fact that we are operating from the live CD. getting this thing to print from the live CD.

It's being detected as usb://HP/LaserJet P1006 but there is no specific driver for it. I try to use the generic HP LaserJet driver but didn't work. There is no driver for P1005 model, either.

Whenever I send a document to print on my USB Printer, as mentioned in title, it just sits and waits and after a minute or so the hp-toolbox resturns this error.

After downloading and viewing a PDF, when I try to print either the current page or a page range, it insists on printing the full document. I could not find this bug documented anywhere. For example, a 12 page booklet made up of A4 folded in half to A5 -
1st page = 12 & 1
2nd page = 2 & 11
3rd page = 10 & 3 etc.
So that when it is printed double-sided it comes out as a booklet. The site at the following link does what I want perfectly if I upload the booklet in single pages format, but it would be nice to have a simple way to do it offline in ubuntu [URL]

So I am cleaning up some old paper records from 2009. I scanned about 25 pages of old medical receipts, prescription receipts etc. as a multi page project. The destination was a pdf file. The desired file is created and I can open it in the default Document Viewer. When I try to print to my Brother HL5170DN laser printer (just one page as a test) I get a message in the print queue window:

and the job never prints. I can print pdf files from other sources such a printing a web page to a file/pdf, pdf files downloaded or created on other computers etc.
If I print the pdf created by XSane and viewed in Document Viewer to the MFC 240c ink jet printer, the pages are about 3/4 size, not the full size pages I scanned.

I have just installed a Canon Pixma iP2200 on Fedora 14. The installation 'seemed' to go OK but whenever I try to print anything I get the following error:

I tried installing the RPM from tcpflow website. error: Failed dependencies: libpcap.so.0.6.2 is needed by tcpflow-0.21-1.i386 I installed libpcap1-32bit, but doesn't help. I tried added soft-link to libpcap.so.1.0.0 from libpcap.so.0.6.2 to workaround, doesn't help. hen I DLed the tarball, ./configure gives an error, even after including --with-pcap=/usr/lib64/libpcap.so.1.0.0 checking for --with-pcap option... configure: error: /usr/lib64/libpcap.so.1.0.0 does not exist I CAN'T install the rpm, I CAN't compile from source. I can't find this program on any suse repo. I need to use this prog -- what can I do?

In Document Viewer, I can click on the fields and type in them, but after spending about 2 hours writing descriptions of courses, I saved it and... it closed the document I was working on, and loading the document I saved resulted in empty fields that could no longer be edited at all - clicking on them did nothing - it looked like a blank form, except it was also broken.
Is there any way I can actually fill in this form...
