I tried installing nf_conntrack module in RHEL , it fails

I want to blacklist one module in RHEL 4.5. In RHEL 5.X we can remove the module using modprobe and then blacklist it in the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist to make it permanent after reboot. But in RHEL 4.5 there is no such file like /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist. So how to blacklist a module in RHEL 4.5
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a server running 8.04LTS with haproxy. This is a loadbalancer that handle port 80 connections.
However, I am seeing a lot of conntrack problems.
The default value is 65536 already. I have googled around and some says 65536 is the max value to go but some says to double the value to 131052 and so on. I did try increasing the value but the error still come.
Some says this is due to synflood and so on. I don't think it's synflood as we do connections more than 65536 with this haproxy.
Some also said to disable nf_conntrack. I have searched but there are no guide on how to disable nf_conntrack in ubuntu 8.04. Anyone can help to shed some light into this problem?
Should I increase the value to some crazy high one like 252000 (does it work?) or disable nf_conntrack?
If I disable nf_conntrack, will firewall software like CSF still work?
i'm using RHEL 5.0 with ext2 or ext3 filesystem, now i wish to use ext4 without loose this Opreating System.... or without using another distro of linux...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed a RedHat Enterprise Linux server and am attempting to get PHP/MySQL installed on it. It cannot load the dynamic php mysql module, giving me an error (in /var/log/error_log) that reads as follows:

(In fact, it fails to load ALL of the dynamic php modules, either with the "undefined symbol: executor_global" or "undefined symbol: core_globals" I DO NOT WANT to compile anything -- I want to stay with stock RedHat released software.

I have two systems connected by local network 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 both installed RHEL
I have congigured nfs and httpd and /mnt/package contains the rhel dvd contents extracted. Also the iso image of rhel from the other system (192.168.0.2), I can mount the share from 192.168.0.1. i.e NFS network is ok in 192.168.0.1
But when I tries to install rhel from 192.168.0.2 It shows the message that that directory cannot be mounted. selinux is permissive in 192.168.0.1. The problem when it asks for network ipno.Is it required to run dhcp server on 192.168.0.1? I have tried another way also - by http created a link to /mnt/package in /var/www/html
But when I tries to install through http://192.168.0.1/package ( from http://192.168.0.1 also - experimented all combinations) - it automatically switches to CD install.
When I try to load the Realtek 8187 modules to kernel using the ./wlan1up command, I get the following error:

Can someone tell me how to correct the "Invalid module format"? I hope that correcting the "Invalid module format" error, I will not have the "Unknown symbol in module" error.
Note: I am using wlan1 for this module as I previously am online with the wlan0 network.The same error occurs if I use ./wlan0up.
is possible to edited the default RHEL CD to have it automatically install RHEL based off of a kickstart file that I will store locally on the CD. My plan would be to put a cd in a server and have the OS automatically being installed.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've installed openSuse 11.4 server-mode (text only) on my desktop, and I'm trying to configure IceWM so i'll eventually have it set up so it always boots into text only mode, but I could be able to quickly start icewm via the command line.using Yast, I installed the Xorg server, and icewm.when I type X, the screen goes black and it just doesn't seem to do anythingI found if I hit ctrl+alt+f1 it kinda puts me back into text only mode, but I can't put in commands anymore. The last thing it says on the screen is:
Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0)
I've goggled that error message and the discussions that popped up around it made no sense to me at all. I've never configured X from scratch before, can someone point me towards a tutorial or something?
I m having problems installing OpenSUSE 11.2 on a Intel SS4200 on a Transcend IDE 4GB Flash Module. I�m using a USB stick as install source. The Intel SS4200 device does not come with PS2 ports. Therefor I�m using USB keyboard and mouse. I have to use the vesa graphics option on the boot menu, otherwise the USB keyboard and mouse won�t work. Unfortunately the OpenSUSE installer does not recognise the Transcend 4GB Flash Module. What can I do?

Unfortunately when I try to install my Okidata ML320, cups it's not showing any parallel ports. This is causing me problems, because it's a minimal installation, and I need some more dev software.My immediate reaction was to install various bits (emacs, and so on) from my Centos 5(.0) DVD.The base RHEL system only had one (disabled) repo entry,so I added a yum DVD repo entry in yum.conf.d.
This looked good to start with, but it doesn't work. Something in RHEL's pirut/yum/rpm/whatever is getting confused, and can't work out what is/isn't installed.
Question - how do you maintain an unregistered RHEL box? Has RH done something to make life difficult? Is my problem simply that I'm using a Centos 5.0 DVD, instead of Centos 5.1? Am I stuck with downloading lots of rpms from the net and doing everything manually? I really don't want to do that.

Initially, I tried installing it by mounting the DVD but it didn't work for me after which I did a lot of google search I tried all the various procedures of the installation of yum server/RPM packages.
