I've just install RALUS (linux backup agent) from BE 2010 R2 by manually uploading it to the server and then extracting it followed by executing the install script.
After the install i deleted the extracted directory, when i go to my Media Server i cannot browse for this server eventhough i already put the IP address of this server.
Here's my diagnostic regarding this error:
Code:
file: No such file or directory
Where can i download that file so that i can SCP to the proper directory in my Fedora COre 5 x86 Linux server ?

I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 and I need to run an old Mathematical SW called ADIFOR 3.0. My problem is that this SW is giving problems because has dependencies with the library ""libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2". I followed a million of possible ways to fix this problem...but no one works properly. What can I do? I have been 3 days trying to fix this problem and I do not know what I can do.

I have to use the old FC6 instead of the latest Fedora distro. The existing thunderbird 1.5.0.12-3 is working fine. I want to upgrade thunderbird to the latest version. How to do that? This is my procedure. I downloaded thunderbird-2.0.0.19.tar.gz and untar it to /usr/local/bin/thunderbird.
$ /usr/local/bin/thunderbird/thunderbird
/usr/local/bin/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
# rpm -qa libstdc++
libstdc++-4.1.1-30
How do I install libstdc++.so.5 for only thunderbird so that libstdc++-4.1.1-30 is still the default?

I am trying to install gnome-libs package as prereq to install Oracle 10.2 on Red Hat 5. It requires libpng.so.2 while I have libpng.so.3 installed on my system. I tried to do a link: ln -s /usr/lib/libpng.so.3 /usr/lib/libpng.so.2, then run /sbin/ldconfig and rebbot as well but it continues to ask for this library.

I am using Centos 5.2, and I installed all of the available gnome and gnome development libraries available via the "add software" menu item. Still, when running some programs, I get the following error message:
"error while loading shared libraries: libzvt.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
If I understood it correctly, libzvt.so.2 is part of some gnome libs... where to find and how to install them?

1 - Is there a source of newer GNU gcc and g++ RPMs compatible with Centos 5.6? Fedora Core?
2 - Perhaps a more important questions is, for developing software for CentOs 5.x customers, should I stick with the gcc it came with? Or at least build the release with same gcc as target? I encountered the following error when trying to install latest Qt SDK:
./Qt_SDK_Lin64_offline_v1_1_en.run: /usr/lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by ./Qt_SDK_Lin64_offline_v1_1_en.run)
To install the latest Qt SDK I need to upgrade libstdc++ package to 4.2 and probably GCC as well. I tried building gcc from source but quickly ran into dependency hell with GMP, MPFR, etc. The main reason I wanted to update to the latest version of Qt is Qt Creator is the best Linux IDE I have yet found ( coming from Visual Studio 2008 ).
CentOs 5.6 64-bit
rpm -qa |grep glibc
glibc-devel-2.5-58
glibc-2.5-58
[code]....

I have been using a boot disk with a kickstart file that calls rpm files that are on RHEL4.8. The rpm files tk-devel,tcl-devel,nss-devel and nspr-devel respond back during the install of RHEL5.e with a pop-up saying they do not exist,but when I look on the RHEL5.4 DVD they do exist in the Workstation directory.

I've got a fresh install of RHEL5 with updates installed running on a PC104. If the machine starts up the screensaver, I can't ever get out of it. The mouse pointer comes back up on the screen, but the desktop doesn't appear or a box to enter a password. I try to reboot X and get an error that X can't be started and it drops me to a prompt. I reboot from the command line and then I get the filesystem error and have to wait 2 hours while it scans.

It seems the file libdb does exist. man dbopen displays man page for dbopen. I also tried to ln -s /usr/lib/libdb.a and libdb.so /lib dir but all were in vain.

I have 3 files: main.c, mylib.h, mylib.c Now I want to put mylib.h into : /usr/include/mydir/mylib.h And I create a static library: libmylib.a, and put into the folder: /usr/lib/mydir/libmylib.a Then I compile: $ gcc -o main main.c Then I got linking error
Code:
main.c:(.text+0x3e): undefined reference to `extract_v1'
main.c:(.text+0x7b): undefined reference to `modify_v1'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
So I try with -l options: $ gcc -o main main.c -lmylib I still got error
Code:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lmylib
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
Any idea about this?
Also, I want to ask about: how to create my own header and library to put into /usr/include/mylib/ and /usr/lib/mylib/, so when I use function in my program, the compiler will automatically link to library. It's like when you #include <stdio.h>, and you compile: $ gcc -o program program.c, you don't need to specify any linking folder or library.

I need to get TightVNC installed on RHEL 5.
I downloaded and extracted tightvnc-1.3-.10_unixsrc.tar.bz2. I have directory called vnc_unixsrc. I went into this directory and tried running xmkmf but got the kick back saying command not found. After doing some searching around looks like i need imake. So I ran yum install imake, installed imake. went back to my vnc_unixsrc directory and tried runnign xmkmf again (failed) did some more searching and looks like people recommended I reference the path to xmkmf. So, while I was in vnc_unixsrc I tried /usr/bin/xmkmf and I get:
This doesn't look right.... Lost here... should I try to execute make World next? or I do still need to figure out xmkmf first...

I have installed Red Hat 5.3 64-bit linux.
I have a program that needs 32-bit libtcl8.4.so and libtk8.4.so.
I have the Red Hat supplemental DVD that has the tcl-devel-8.4.13-3.fc6.i386.rpm and the tk-devel-8.4.13-5.el5_1.1.i386.rpm
I tried to install the tcl-devel-8.4.13-3.fc6.i386.rpm package using the following command: "rpm -ivh --force tcl-devel-8.4.13-3.fc6.i386.rpm
I get the following error message: "Warning: tcl-devel-8.4.13-3.fc6.i386.rpm header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 37017186 error: failed dependencies: libtcl8.4.so is needed by tcl-devel-8.4.13-3.fc6.i386.rpm"
I have scoured the internet and everything says to install these packages to get the tcl and tk libraries.
