Any idea when the -D option was withdrawn ? I could not find much information on this . Also, what exactly is the difference between vgdisplay -v -D and just vgdisplay -v .

Having trouble installing packages on a RHEL5 box, when trying to list packages etc I get an error saying: "This system is not registered with RHN. RHN support will be disabled."
Does this mean I can't install packages? This is a licenced copy of RHEL. The reason being I need to install VMware tools on this machine for the memory management facility in VMWARE ESX. I Dont think the fact its running on ESX has anything to do with the error. what I am restricted to, and if I have the licence for this how I can register to enable the use of YUM?

I have 4 partitions in my system, out of which two(sda1, sda2) have windows on them. I have installed RHEL 4 32 - bit on sda3 and after that , installed installed RHEL 64-bit on to a partition sda 5. Now i am unable to boot into RHEL 32-bit. The error i am getting is Error 13: Invalid or unsupported executable format.

I have two internal hard drives.I just installed Debian Lenny in the smaller 80GB. But when I try to access the other hard drive it shows:

first message it is about entering (( Windows OS partition )) (( NTFS ))
second message it is about entering other partiton with (( FAT32 ))

I'm timing how long it takes to run a command foo. I'm looking to append the results from the time command to a file, and discard the results from the foo command. I tried the following, but it didn't do what I want:

Does Redhat provide a 'site' license option? The amount of server my company keeps adding is growing to quickly so this would be a more ideal solution. Does any one know about this or where I could find more information? For some reason i can't access certain pages on their site (probably connection issues with this connection's firewall).

I had a working dual boot Ubuntu 10 and Windows 7. Anyways long story short, I got it working again but have lost the boot option for windows 7. If i run fdisk -l, I get the following.

I installed gparted and can see that windows 7 is installed in dev/sda6. In another forum, i read that someone had to edit their menu.lst so i did with the following.

When i try to boot from windows 7, i get the following error. Error 12: invalid device request. How can i get my laptop to boot from windows again?
I want router catch the ip packet which mark router alert label, change it and send to the next hop. Not just forward it immediately.
So I set IP_ROUTER_ALERT and IPV6_ROUTER_ALERT option for ipv4 and ipv6 socket. IP_ROUTER_ALERT was just fine and I can do what I expect. However when I set on IPV6_ROUTER_ALERT, it tells me "Protocol not available" (errno = 92). And This option can be found in "$Kernel/net/ipv6/ipv6_sockglue.c"
can not ping from host (RHEL 6) to RHEL 5 in (virtual)? I have stopped iptables on both machines. But still not able to ping from host machine to virtual.
