I'm trying to run a program in Ubuntu (10.10), and I keep getting this error (relocation error: /lib/libnss_files.so.2: symbol strcmp, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference). From what I've searched online, it has suggested that it can't locate 'strcmp' for version 2.0 of GLIBC; I also ran 'ldd' on the listed library and got:
When I tried to boot up this morning I receive the following errors: init: plymouth main process (302) terminated with status 127.mountall: symbol lookup error: /lib/libm.so.6 undefined symbol: , version GLIBC_2.0
init: mountall main process (323) terminated with status 127 I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and things have been fine until now. Can someone explain the errors and suggest how I can fix them. Right now I am using the trial version on the install cd to get up. I do have access to my main hard drive so I can make corrections.
I am using an ARM board, and Fedora 14 as development environment. Cross compiler provided by Fedoraarmv5tel-redhat-linux-gnueabi-xxxeverything on the embedded board works just fine. I have directFB working with no problems, as well as ts_lib... and a lot of software I wrote that is working fine.Recently I downloaded QT open source version and compiled fine. However when I run any demo or example I get :/usr/lib/libQTGui.so.4: symbol powf, version GLIBCXXX_3.4 not defined in file libstdc++.so with link time reference.I tried QT forum, and it has been 2 weeks waiting for an email to activate my account. in the meantime i really need to move on.
I installed RHEL 3.5 with all packages (everything), I try to install networker client software then libc.so.6 (GLIBC_2.3.4) is needed by lgtoclnt-7.6-1.
1. lgtoclnt-7.6-1.i686.rpm is supported in RHEL 3.5?
I am using Ubuntu 9.10 .I recently updated my eclipse to get latest android 2.3 sdk but after that I am not able to run android emulator with the message
Code:
android /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.11' not found (emulator)
installed/android-sdk-linux_x86-1.6_r1_1/tools/emulator: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.11' not found (required by installed/android-sdk-linux_x86-1.6_r1_1/tools/emulator) linux-gate.so.1 => (0x0096d000) libutil.so.1 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libutil.so.1 (0x002c3000)
It seems to be related to some kind of gcc library missing, but I went into YAST and I've installed the kernel sources, headers, devel, and a bunch of other things I found in various forums. I consistently get an error message about GLIBC_2.11 not found, even if I just do gcc -v. Contents of config.log:

I would like to snap windows in GNOME (more specifically, under Ubuntu) to user pre-defined grids.
I have tried the "Snapping Windows" and "Grid" plugins for Compiz, and have also seen demos of PyWO, but none of these tools seem to provide the above option.
I need to setup my ubuntu pc single nic card ip as 192.168.1.6 for internet and 10.172.170.95 and 135.10.86.100 for my lan and for another network through my 4port DSL modem. So i defined like this.Except addition of last two routes(10.0.0.0/8 & 200.200.176.0/24) everything worked as defined, what is the mistake i did?
I am trying to install Linux Mint 10 on a newly formatted 40gb hard drive. I have not been able to get the the install program to see my hard drive. The program seems to work well off of the CD. I have checked the md5 sum and it is a good copy of the program. It will be the only operating system on a Athlon64 3200, PC Chips M861g mb combo. I have also tried Ubuntu with similar results.
Which LXDE version of Linux has the newest version of Firefox and Open Office included?
I am looking for an iso file, and I am trying to run this off of a live CD for now. So I want a light version of Linux, probably LXDE, or if not, then probably XFCE. But I need a new version of Firefox and OpenOffice included.
Because, I tried burning the customizable NimbleX @ custom.nimblex.net . Pretty good, except it uses Firefox 2, and Open Office 2.3, which are outdated.
And I tried Mint XFCE, which might have been pretty good too, but it had some issue of blanking and requiring relogin after I opened hotmail frequently (user id: mint, password: blank).
The web browser and the word processing program are the most important and essential applications to me.
So are there any Linux versions in LXDE on LiveCD that include newer versions of Firefox (or at least another good browser) and Open Office (oo seems better than abi)? (Again, if no LXDE, perhaps XFCE?)
I just want to download a good version in an iso file, and burn it to a CD and get to work. Like I said the web browser and the word processing program are all important.
So really, what iso/LiveCD versions are the fastest for running on an older system, and yet have the newest browser and word processor included?
I have a Linux server running CentOS with 2GB RAM. I am searching in google and also in this forum but could not find any luck yet. I am searching the way that we can receive notification by system to a specified email when the memory reached a specified value we defined.
Is there any tool or sort of shell script we set via crontab every minute to check that?
extract.ksh use this scripts topic_file_publish.sh but extract.ksh resides in /data/apps/pnbos/scripts
but topic_file_publish.sh in below directory/data/apps/pnbgstk/publication >
ls topic_file_publish.sh topic_file_publish.sh fraespappp8:/data/apps > type topic_file_publish.sh topic_file_publish.sh is hashed (/data/apps/pnbgstk/publication/topic_file_publish.sh)
How it is done?
since topic_file_publish.sh is being directly referenced in the code with absolute path.
I can use Ubuntu from my flash drive, but I want to install it in a partition alongside windows. When I try to do this, I come to an 'allocate drive space' window, but whatever I do I get the error message: 'No root file system is defined. Please correct this from the partitioning menu.' I just don't know what this means, or what to do next. I'm loathe to ditch windows, and I don't want to have to use a flashdrive all the time.
When I compile my application, I received following error: ERROR: Source object libxml2.so has EABI version 0, but target turbine has EABI version 4. So I need a libxml2 file with ARM EABI version 4. Can I find one from the internet? or does anyone know how to create one?
when I tried to install Fedora on my pc, I got this error message " Defined Root partition not created a / boot/efi partition. I am trying to install it on a seperate hd. My main one has windows xp pro, but I do not want to interfer with that at all?.
