General :: Print With Lexmark X2670 From Ubuntu OS?
Oct 24, 2010
I have installed ubuntu on my desktop. The speed is so good that i want to keep it. The only problem I can see just now is that I can not set up may printer. It is a Lexmark X2670 all in one. Any ides how to print with this from ubuntu OS?
I'm trying to get my Lexmark x2670 to print under Fedora 14 (64bit) with no success. I've installed the driver and when I try to print anything, I simply get no response. I've got the printer to work on Fedora 13, also 64bit, and I really don't know what I'm missing.
I am trying to install printer - Lexmark X2670 All in One. On Lexmark download site i found this[URL]..There are three links - I dont know wich of them is for my system?(Suse 11.4)
Lexmark Z730 Series printer. I know it's an old model but I'd like it to work with my Ubuntu 9.04. Is there a way , technically, of configuring it manually, using a set of commands...some guerilla tactics method...to get it to print. I've searched high and low for the Ubuntu version of its drivers, but in vain.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04. I am trying to print on a Lexmark 9300 series printer connected to a Windows XP machine. I am able to print on an HP Laserjet 5P printer connected to a Windows 7 machine just fine.
I installed lexmark S305 following the guide from dave66, posted here [URL].. but the printer doesn't work. Every time a new job is in the queue, it fails to print. Basically the error reported is E [13/Mar/2010:20:33:20 +0100] [Job 2] Job stopped due to filter errors; please consult the error_log file for details. Here I uploaded my error_log from cups: [URL].. I have Debian unstable, kernel 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 and cups 1.4.2-9.1.

We are running RHEL 5.1 on the 2.6.18.53 kernel. We are attempting to pass print jobs to a Lexmark printer with the lp -o landscape command. The print jobs continue to print "portrait". Is anyone aware of this issue and is there a work-around to get these print jobs to print in landscape format?
Does anyone know how to get a Lexmark X4530 to print on Ubuntu 11.04 and possibly on WIFI? It is recognized on the network but will not print with the recommended driver.
There was a similar question...but that was in 2006! I am not a techie and simply want to get my printer connected to new computer with ubuntu. All advice very gratefully received.
I have a dell e5500 laptop, 2GHz ram 80gig hard drive dual boot linux and win xp pro. a new lexmark s305 printer can not get driver to work from lexmark web site. printer works fine with xp.pro, don't do anything with ubuntu 10.x
How can I combine multiple single page prints into a single print job? For example, using Firefox on Linux one can print a web page such that each sheet of paper has four pages printed upon it. I would like to combine several separate web pages so that for example, web-page-a, web-page-b and web-page-c (each less than one print page long) are printed on a single sheet of paper.
I would like to do this without having to use some form of image editor to combine and manage manually created temporary files.
Interesting problem: For the first time with Xubuntu 10.10 64bit, I am finding certain applications print corrupt. A varying amount of letters / numbers either get substituted/print a blank space/ print a box etc etc. This corruption seems to happen from a Pdf ( evince ) or Spreadheet ( Gnumeric ) Opening the same Pdf on another machine (ubuntu 10.10 32bit) prints perfectly. Opening the same .xls file on the original computer but using OOo Calc prints perfectly.
I guess I have ruled out any problems with the printer itself or the network JetDirect box. I have re-installed CUPS and evince and upgraded to the latest version of HPLIP but the problem appears unchanged.
I cannot print pdf files. I have tried using okular and xpdf. The documents display in the program, but print preview shows a blank page. The printer then sends out blank pages. I have tried printing on 2 different printers using usb cables. Using terminal to process the commands shows error:
My wife has a canon MP470 printer and running ubuntu 10.10. I am able to print black and white, but unable to print photos. I got it to work using another driver, but not the 'correct' one for this printer. I have searched a bit and don't see anything about ubuntu 10.10, just older versions. Or should I just network her to my printer....?
Just installed drivers for Lexmark pro200 - S500 series. However although it is recognised by the system and has a tick by its name, And tells me it is connected via usb file goes to print que but will not print. Also tells me it is Printing - localhost! is this correct?.
I initially had a problem accessing the CUPS interface (see my other post) and got that resolved by adding the user "cupsys". Now, everything "looks" ok, and when I print a test page, it shows it as completed (in CUPS). However, the page never prints. The printer is a Canon MP600 (using the canonmp600en.ppd file to configure it). Here's the output of my conf file.
Code: # Show troubleshooting information in error_log. LogLevel debug
My printer had been working for a long time until today. I went to reinstall the driver once I found out that my printer had stopped working but it wont work because it says I need at least CUPS 1.2, but I have CUPS 1.4 something so something must be wrong there. This is the log report that I got after troubleshooting.

I have Ubuntu 10.04 installed on a Virtual Machine. Would like to install drivers for Lexmark X6650. I download filelexmark-08z-series-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.shWhen I double-click, there is an option to run in terminal. I run in terminal. Then it asks for administrator password. I enter administrator passwordIt says "Wrong Password"How can this be a wrong password.A) I created the passwordB) used this password for other administrative tasksThis must be a problem with Lexmark! Please tell me how to manually install the lexmark drivers from my terminal, i.e. once I navigate to the directory, what command should I type in?
I'm running Kubuntu 10.10 with a Laserjet 5M printer. When I attempt to print a job from Firefox or from Okular, the job never gets onto the print queue. However, I can print test pages on the printer and also print from OpenOffice, so this seems to be app-dependent. I know the jobs aren't being queued because the job number doesn't increase (as shown by the jobs for the test pages). Both Firefox and Ocular give every indication that the print job has been processed correctly.
Not sure when CUPS started acting up. I have the latest 13.1 current software installed. The first page to print is always OK, but all succeeding pages are overwritten. The second page shows the first page on top of it, and the third shows the preceding pages on top of it - and so on. Has anyone else seen this problem?I guess the printer buffer is not getting flushed correctly. If my configurations were trashed in some way, I don't know where to look for a fix.
I just rescued an old Lexmark Z35 and have been trying to find the file CJLZ35LE-CUPS-2.0-1.TAR.GZ. All the links I've found in this forum and Google seem to be broken. Does anyone know where can I find them? I have a Lexmark x5250 too, which I haven't been able to use in Ubuntu. I've heard there's a way to make it work.
I upgraded from a 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04 to a 64 bit Ubuntu 10.10. Under 32-bit Ubuntu 10.04, I had a Lexmark X1290 printer working flawlessly. Now I'm trying to install this printer again on the 64-bit Ubuntu 10.10 system. I'm following the instructions from [URL].. and using the Z600 series driver from Lexmark.
Create a directory named lexmark and unpack the driver:
Code: mkdir lexmark tar -xvzf CJLZ600LE-CUPS-1.0-1.TAR.gz Extract the driver from the install script: Code: tail -n +143 z600cups-1.0-1.gz.sh > install.tar.gz
since i upgraded to natty recently the lexmark x2650 stopped printing, the scanning continues to work. I can install the driver which is offered by lexmark, but not print. I am using natty 32bit, and the driver is lexmark-inkjet-08-driver-1.0-1.i386.deb.sh.zip The error output looks like this:
I tried to install a lexmark z1300 printer, but ubuntu did not recognize it and it crashed. I got a blank screen with a cursor in the middle of the screen that was not flashing. I tried "ctrl + alt +backspase" and it did not work so i had to turnoff the computer by hand. After i turned it back on, i could no longer use vlc player. When i tried to open an .avi file i got the message shown below and i could only hear the audio. I tried to reboot with the option to repair broken packages and that only messed up my window borders (i.e. i had no option to min max or close the windows). The window border problem was solved by just rebooting the computer but vlc media player still does not work.
MESSAGE FROM VLC PLAYER: No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format. Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.
