Mar 17, 2011I have RHEL 5.5 ,Suse linex and windows7 is also running in my system. I am not able to connect to internet from Linux, but internet is working in windows 7 and suse. The service provider is qwest and they say that they do not support linux.

And all the configurations on the eth0 looks fine. We are able to browse, if we set the server to dynamic ip. Then I unplugged it and found that I have another file to upload so I plugged it back in. However this time it's not assigned a partition (last time was sdb1) and I can't mount it anymore. Oct 26, 2010I did a yum install libxml2 then later had to do a yum remove libxml2
on my rhel5.5 machine. During the course I answered 'y' to one of the questions asked, which may have lead to the problem I'm about to describe - I don't know because I can't reproduce the problem at the moment.
After doing the 'yum remove libxml2', which seemed to complete successfully, I tried to do a 'yum search <some other package>' and a 'yum install <some other package>' - both commands failed. The error message I get is
[root@server etc]# yum search libxml2
bash: yum: command not found
[root@server etc]# which yum
/usr/bin/which: no yum in (/usr/kerberos/sbin:/usr/kerberos/bin:/usr/bin:/bin)
I'm afraid during the 'yum remove libxml2' I must have removed some essential system libraries and applications, including yum.

Apr 22, 2010i am in the process of installing apache 2.2 with php 5.3.2, my problem is that after installing and configuring them , this important module libphp5.so is no where to be seen under /usr/local//apache2/modules/, so when i attempt to start or stop apachectl , i get the following errors ..
httpd: Syntax error on line 54 of /usr/local/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /usr/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so into server: /usr/local/apache2/modules/libphp5.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
this is how am loading the module in httpd.conf
#LoadModule php5_module modules/libphp5.so
why isn't this file there . is there a way i can get this to work
